Inuyasha Still Holds A Grudge
A/N: Inuyasha at first refuses to help Kouga but Kagome convinces him to be a good person. Way to go Kagome! Enjoy! I still don’t own Inuyasha!
Chapter8: Inuyasha Still Holds A Grudge
Ginta raced through Inuyasha’s Forest until he came to the clearing where Inuyasha’s hut was nestled. He crept up to the door and knocked on intlyntly at first. When Ginta received no answer he pounded heavily on the door. Suddenly the door flung open and there stood the beautiful miko Kagome. “Ginta? What brings you here?” “Hello sister Kagome. I’m here because I need to speak to Inuyasha.”
The half dog demon was at the door behind Kagome in a flash upon hearing his name. “What the hell do you want with me Ginta?” “Lord Kouga needs your help with your brother Sesshomaru.” Inuyasha rubbed his chin for a moment and then gruffly replied. “No. I refuse to help Kouga because he tried to take my Kagome.” Kagome elbowed Inuyasha in the ribs harshly causing him to give her a sharp glance.
“Inuyasha! Of course we will help Kouga.” “We will?” “Yes we will!” Ginta smiled at Kagome who smiled back at him sweetly. “Fine, let’s go if we have to help that wimpy wolf leader of yours!” Ginta nodded as Inuyasha grabbed his Tetseiga. Inuyasha and Kagome followed behind Ginta quickly as they headed back to where Kouga was waiting for them. Kouga gave a low snarl when he caught sight of Inuyasha but quickly bit it back. He had to swallow his pride because he needed Inuyasha’s help to get his mate back safely.
As much as Kouga hated to rely on his enemy for help he was happy to see Kagome again. She looked just as beautiful as she had the last time he had seen her. He sniffed the air and caught wind of a strange new scent. Kouga sniffed again trying to place the strange scent. He realized that it was Kagome’s scent that he had picked up except that her scent was different than it used to be. She had the scent of a mated woman. Kouga realized that Kagome and Inuyasha must have recently consumated their union.
Kagome smiled cheerfully at the wolf demon. He returned her smile briefly and then focused his attention to the frowning hanyou that stood at her side protectively. “Inuyasha.” “Kouga.” The two stood glaring at each other for a few moments. Kagome decided to break the silence. “We heard about Sesshomaru kidnapping someone important to you.” Kouga turned away from the hanyou. “Yes Kagome, Sesshomaru has kidnapped my mate, Nikah.” Inuyasha’s amber eyes widened at the mention of Kouga’s situation.
“Did you just say your mate?” “Yeah I did.” “When did you take a mate Kouga?” “I recently took a mate to produce an heir for my pack.” “So you finally realized that Kagome belongs to me huh?” Kouga glared at Inuyasha shooting daggers at him with his eyes. Kagome stepped between the two before things could get out of hand. “Why did Sesshomaru take your mate? I thought you two were friends Kouga?” “So did I. But my mate is human and Sesshomaru was upset about that because he hates humans.” “Believe me Kouga, I know all about Sesshomaru’s distaste in humans.”
“So I had to gather my warriors and try to get my mate back. Please help me, my mate is pregnant with my pup!” Kagome’s blue gray eyes softened as she looked at Inuyasha with a pleading glance. Inuyasha groaned out loud for everyone to hear. ‘Damn Kagome’s soft heart! Now I will have to help Kouga for sure! Oh well at least he has a mate of his own now.’ Inuyasha spoke up his voice gruff. “I’ll help you get your mate back Kouga, but you have to promise to stay the hell away from Kagome.”
“I promise that I will keep my distance from Kagome. I know that she belongs to you. Besides I have my own mate and we are expecting a pup now.” Inuyasha nodded satisfied with Kouga’s promise to stay away from Kagome. “Alright, let’s go to my brother’s palace and rescue your mate.” Kouga nodded and they began to head in the direction of the Western lands. Kagome wrapped her legs around Inuyasha’s waist as she held onto him from behind. Inuyasha inhaled his mate’s scent as they ran over the open plains that led to the vast Western lands that were home to Sesshomaru.
Lucah and Marix ran alongside each other at a fast pace. Occasionally they would catch the other one staring and crack a slight smile. Kitaru, Kouji, Suzaku, and Hakakku all stayed close together as they neared the Western lands. Inuyasha halted the group as they approached the border to Sesshomaru’s territory. “Okay we’re nearing Sesshomaru’s palace.” Kouga spoke up. “Inuyasha, do you think we should make camp for a little while to rest and maybe get a bite to eat?” “Yeah that would be a good idea.”
Kagome slid off her mate’s back and placed her small feet on the ground carefully. Kouga watched as she stretched causing the white kimono top of her miko’s clothing to cling tightly to her perky breasts. He felt a small tinge of lust in his loins and had to force himself to look away from her lovely figure. “Kagome, I’m going to get some fish for us from the nearby river. Stay here with Kouga.” “Okay Inuyasha.” Kouga spoke to Kitaru. “Kitaru, go with Inuyasha to help catch some fish to eat.” “Yes my lord.” Inuyasha and Kitaru headed off towards the river.
Lucah watched as Kouga came to sit down next to Kagome underneath a tree. She watched the two closely to find out why her lord had been acting so strangely around this human woman. Kagome gave Kouga a sweet smile as he sat down on the soft grass next to her. “It’s been a long time since we last spoke Kagome.” “Yes it has. How have you been Kouga?” His blue eyes locked with her blue gray eyes before he answered her innocent question.
“I guess I’ve been okay. I will still never understand why you refused me as a mate Kagome.” Kagome sighed deeply. She didn’t really want to talk about their past history and had hoped that Kouga would not bring it up. “Kouga, we’ve already been through this. I don’t feel the same way about you as you feel about me. I’m in love with Inuyasha and we have finally consumated our union.” “I see. Are you carrying his pup?” Her cheeks reddened a little at the mention of pups.
“No. But I want to give Inuyasha a child very soon. I see that you have taken a mate.” “Yes, but only because I was forced into it for the welfare of my pack. If possible I would have waited for you forever Kagome.” “Kouga, you should find someone else and I’m glad that you did.” “Yes I suppose I am happy that I have Nikah in my life now.” “Do you love her?” “Not yet, but it’s happening very quickly. She is pregnant with my pup.” Kagome smiled at the thought of Kouga becoming a father.
“So will you keep your promise and stay away from me?” “Yes I will honor my union and the fact that we are having a pup together.” Kagome smiled again and went to stand up. “Where are you going?” “Nowhere. I just don’t want Inuyasha to get upset by seeing us together when he gets back.” Kouga nodded and watched Kagome walk a few feet away from him.
