Prompt Summary: The cattle drive arrives at the valley.

 

With less people around to keep the cattle in line, especially since half of them were untrained in actually dealing with cattle, it took the group much longer to reach the valley then Sesshoumaru had been hoping; or at least that is what everyone assumed based off of the scowl that never left his face the entire trip. Even though it wasn't that long of a distance, it took them so long to arrive that it wasn't hard to figure out they were cutting it pretty close to the storm.



Not wanting to get caught out in the open with all of the cattle when the rain came, the already tired group had picked up its pace and made it to the valley before Sesshoumaru had the chance to berate them for going too slow. Another hour had passed since their arrival before they finally got every last head of cattle tucked into the relative safety of the valley.



Helping his wife and sister-in-law down from the wagon, Inuyasha turned back to the hired hands as Sesshoumaru began tying up the horses across the opening of the valley where they could easily get to them it the herd stampedes again. "Up on the left wall of the valley is a small cave that the women will be staying in. It's also where we keep the supplies. If you have anything important that you don't want to lose, I'd recommend keeping it in there as well."
