As soon as they had managed to make their way through the herd of frightened cattle, Jakotsu and Renkotsu spotted the brothers making their way over toward them; their frightened expressions turning to ones of relief when they realized their wives were alright. "I'm fine, Sesshoumaru," Kagome assured him in mocked annoyance after he essentially dragged her off of the horse and began checking to make sure she was unharmed.
Apparently deciding to believe her, or more likely because he had been unable to find any injury, Sesshoumaru halted his search and instead pulled her into a hug after gently kissing her forehead. Averting his eyes slightly to give them even a brief moment of privacy, he instead watched as Inuyasha gently caressed Sango's cheek once his own inspection was done. Turning back to Sesshoumaru, Jakotsu nodded in agreement after hearing him instruct, “Take the women back to camp, then join us to help stop the herd.”
Even as Jakotsu and Renkotsu was helping them onto their horses once more, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were already getting onto theirs before taking off in the direction the cattle had gone; the other men including Bankotsu not far behind them. It did not take them long to go the short distance back to the middle of the camp and drop the girls off; both of them glancing toward the horizon where they could still make out the stampede as soon as they were once again riding solo. Glancing back and forth between the animals and the women, Jakotsu shook his head before calling out to Renkotsu, “You go help them, I'm gonna stay here.
“Someone needs to stay with the women in case anyone attacks,” he insisted, watching as Renkotsu nodded in agreement before galloping away. Dismounting, Jakotsu tied up his horse at the back of the wagon and turned toward Kagome, “Your wagon keeps an extra riffle, right? Can I have it? The tiny two-shooter I have will do little good if anyone actually tries to attack while the others are gone.”
