With You
Untitled 1
Time to get things
heated up! The fire’s ignited, but we’re gonna take our time turning it up.
ElevenRin was heartbroken
as she watched Sesshomaru pull his lips from hers and turn and walk away. She had
taken her shot, for all the good it had done her. She wanted to rip her heart
out, it was aching it so bShe turned around and went back to the village.
Unfortunately, when
she got back to the hut, she was confronted with the sight of Kagome and
Inuyasha taking turns cradling their baby girl in their arms. She felt a pang
of jealousy, and queasiness in her stomach. She had to turn away and leave. As
she stood there by the door, she felt someone brush against her. She turned to
see who it was, and it was Kagome. She was giving Rin a disapproving look.
“Rin, will you come
with me, please?” She beckoned her to follow.
Rin followed Kagome
who led her through the forest until they reached a familiar spot: The Bone
Eater’s well. Kagome walked toward it, and stood there for a moment, lightly
tracing her hands along the wood. She began to wonder about Tokyo, about the
life she had left behind. Souta was probably in high school, or graduated by
now. Her friends were probably married, maybe even with children of their own.
Her grandfather, bless his heart, was probably still fighting the good fight.
She stood there for a
while, taking in the memories, before turning back to face Rin, leaning her
weight against the Well. “Well, Rin, what’s wrong?”
Rin frowned. “What do
you mean?”
“Rin, I just saw you
shoot me and Inuyasha a dirty look, like you were disgusted with us. We just
had another baby; I would think that you would be happy.”
Rin bowed her head,
feeling ashamed and wishing that she had taken better care to hide her face.
“I’m sorry, Kagome.”
“That you are.”
Kagome was really upset.
“It’s just that-“
“What? What is it,
Rin, spit it out.”
“I was jealous.”
Now it was Kagome’s
turn to frown. “Of what? My family?”
Rin nodded.
“Why?”
“I just…” Rin paused for
a moment, trying to find the words. “Seeing you and InuYasha with your children
made me wonder what it would be like, to have something like that of my own
someday.”
Kagome nodded her
head in understanding. “Ah, I see. Come here.” She beckoned for Rin to come
closer, placing her arm around the girl’s shoulders and pulling her close.
“Rin, you just need to be patient. You’ll find that person someday, the man
whose destiny it is to love you and make you happy. And when the time comes,
you’ll make an excellent mother.”
Rin head seemed to
sink even lower. “I just don’t know what I’ll do or say when that time comes.”
Kagome chuckled. “Of
course you don’t. It’s not until you’re in that situation and you see things
firsthand that you really know where to go and what to do. Until then, you’re
just on the outside looking in. Trust me; I wondered the same thing when I was
your age.”
Rin looked at her.
“Really?”
Kagome nodded.
“Really.” Rising to her feet, she said, “Now, can we get back to the hut? I
need to tend to my baby girl.”
As the two of them
walked, Rin trailed Kagome, keeping a little distance between them. As she
walked, she tried to figure out how to tell Kagome that she’d already found the
man whose job it was to make her happy. She just didn’t know how she was going
to make him see it.

Two days had passed,
and Rin had more or less managed to suppress her feelings of jealousy towards
Kagome. She was happy for her friends, and their new baby girl, whom they had
named Hitomi.
Kagome and Rin were
in the vegetable garden, picking herbs when one of the girls from the village
walked up to them. She seemed upset. “What’s wrong?” Kagome frowned.
“The demon lord! He’s
gone!”
Rin and Kagome gasped.
“Lord Sesshomaru’s gone?”
The girl nodded. “Yes,
he and the other two demons that were with him are gone! They must’ve left
sometime last night.”
The girl fell to her
knees. “I wanted to see him one more time. Everything felt…so secure when he
was here.”
That old woman must really have some pull around here, Kagome
thought to herself. She turned to look at Rin and frowned upon doing so. Rin’s
head was bowed low, and she had a look of pure unhappiness etched across her
face.
Kagome’s heart ached,
but she couldn’t figure out why. She just felt really bad for Rin.

Later on that day,
Rin was by herself, wandering around in the woods by the village. She was quietly
pondering her thoughts, thinking of the time she had spent with Sesshomaru when
she was a little girl. All of the traveling, all of the times he had left her
with Ah-Un and she sat around, waiting for his return, singing about why Jaken
was green, all of the times she had been in danger and Seeshomaru had come to
save her.
She had been so lost
in her thoughts that she didn’t notice the sun going down, or where she was,
for that matter. She didn’t see the wall in front of her until it was too late.
She collided with the
wall. “Ow!” she put her hand to her forehead and rubbed it, wincing at the
pain. She looked up and saw that she had managed to wander her way to the hut
where Sesshomaru had spent his time healing. She stared at the wall for a
while, taking her time before going inside.
The hut was empty,
like the girl said it would be. There was no sign of Sesshomaru or Jaken, or
that anyone had ever been there in the first place. She placed her hand on the
wall, thinking to herself. Lord
Sesshomaru had been here. Resting, meditating, recovering…he was here. As
she touched the wall with one hand, her other hand unconsiously began to drift
toward her kimono. Reaching underneath the fabric, she began to touch herself,
very lightly at first.
She closed her eyes,
letting her mind drift off to when she had been taking care of Sesshomaru,
bandaging his wounds. As her memories brought more images to her mind, her hand
began to rub faster and faster. Then, one of her fingers slipped its way inside,
and then another. Like before, the motion was slow, but as she progressed, her
fingers began to pump faster.
Soon, her fingers
began to glide into her, almost as though they were sliding on water. She began
to feel a sort of slickness near her leg. The fabric of her kimono began to
cling to her, but she didn’t stop. Her instinct told her to keep going.
Then, she felt a
sudden sensation build up inside of her. The faster her fingers moved, the
stronger it became until finally…
“Ahhhh!”
Rin exploded over her hand and legs. That sensation
inside of her seemed to explode in her mind, too. As it subsided, so did the
feeling near her legs until finally, she was able to pull her hand away from
herself.
She turned and leaned
against the wall, sliding down against it until she was sitting. She breathed
heavily, and held her hand up to her face. It was coated in a slickness that
she couldn’t explain. After all, she had never done anything like that before;
she was just operating out of instinct.
She suddenly thought,
It’s too bad Lord Sesshomaru wasn’t here.
And then there he
was. Standing in the doorway. She looked up and saw him standing there, his
eyes fixated on her hand.
“Just what are you
doing in here?’
