As The Hourglass Spins

Sesshoumaru once again was sitting across from Lucian holding his injured wife. She was badly injured and in a lot of pain. Sesshoumaru was glaring daggers at Lucian who was not allowed to touch the tiny female even to check on her wounds.

“If you would let me give her my blood she would be fully healed. There is no point in calling a physician when you have the healing powers right here in my veins.”

Sesshoumaru refused to talk to Lucian and that bastard would not touch his female again if he had his way even if he had the fountain of youth in his blood.

Inuyasha was on the phone with Hojo who was practically speeding on the highway to get to the mansion.

Sesshoumaru put on his jeans and t shirt just in case they had to leave for the hospital. Megan only had on one of his long button up shirts since he didn’t want to jostle her around trying to get her clothing on her.

Inuyasha had given Megan some pain medicine that was barely working although it had put her to sleep. Right at this moment it was taking all of Inuyasha’s control not to attack Lucian again even if it was futile.

Megan would whimper every few minutes causing both Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru to feel even more protective over their tiny mate.

“This is why women need to know their place Sesshoumaru. She should not have the desire to fight her Alpha.”

Inuyasha about lost it with Lucian. He just sat there all calm and acted like this was all Megan’s and Sesshoumaru’s fault. No one asked this fucker to come and ruin their lives. He just showed up expecting people to fall all over themselves when he walked through the door. The arrogance of Lucian made Inuyasha want to tear that asshole’s face off.

After getting off the phone with Hojo, Inuyasha sat back down and if looks could kill Lucian would be dead.

“You do not know these times you old bastard! You just come barging in here like you are God’s gift to everyone and we are just supposed to bow down to you? Fuck you. My Alpha is Sesshoumaru and I…………”

Sesshoumaru agreed with Inuyasha, but arguing with the Ancient demon was not going to help matters. Also Inuyasha’s voice was echoing in the room and every time he spoke Megan would whimper.

“Be silent Inuyasha. You are being too loud and you will wake Megan.”

Inuyasha looked at his brother with a bit of a hurt look on his face and then he saw Megan moan in pain. Sesshoumaru was right, he needed to be silent.

Hojo came flying through the door with his medical kit in his hand.

“Where is she?”

Inuyasha looked at Hojo like he was an idiot.

“She is right there with Sesshoumaru you idiot wolf. I swear none of you wolves have a brain in your head.”

Sesshoumaru looked at Hojo and snarled as Hojo tried to take Megan off of his lap.

“Don’t growl at me Sesshoumaru. I need to look at her injuries.”

Hojo bid Sesshoumaru to lay Megan on the floor.

As Hojo checked her ribs Megan woke up and roared in pain.

“I am sorry sweetheart, I know this hurts but I need to check to see what damage was done.”

Hojo found that most of her ribs were crushed and she couldn’t move her neck. She also had some blood weeping into her hair from a wound on the back of her head where she had fractured her skull. If she was a human she would have been dead, but even as a demon she was barely alive. It would take more than a month to heal her completely even with the bone mending medication that was just approved last week.

“Who did this to her?”

Hojo snarled as he looked at the men not giving a damn about how powerful any of them were. A male should know better than to strike a female.

“I did. She attacked me and I thrust her back. I did not mean to toss her into the wall. Now if you would just let me give her some of my blood she will heal.”

Hojo frowned at the Ancient and then looked at Sesshoumaru.

“Do you approve of this Sesshoumaru?”

Sesshoumaru gave Hojo a look that meant he would kill anyone who allowed Lord Lucian to give Megan his blood.

Inuyasha was the one to answer that question though.

“Of course he doesn’t want that bastard touching her let alone give her his blood after what he has done! Are you insane too Hojo? Do you want my brother and I to kill you?”

Lucian growled at the two men.

“You both would rather let her suffer than do the one thing that could help her. I do not understand either of you. I am not just going to stand by and allow this. Put your damn feelings for me aside and think of your female.’
“Move out of my way wolf.”

Inuyasha went to attack Lucian, but Sesshoumaru held him back.

“Lucian is right Inuyasha. We can deal with him later.”

Sesshoumaru whispered into Inuyasha’s ear.

Inuyasha growled as Lucian bit into his wrist and then fed Megan his blood.

Hojo watched as Megan started to heal. He would still keep her on bed rest until she was well again since even Lucian’s powerful blood would take some time to heal Megan completely.

“Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha come here.”

Lucian ordered as he picked up the tiny female.

Sesshoumaru did as he was told hating every second of it.

“Show me what room we are to sleep in.”

Inuyasha was about to say something, but Sesshoumaru silenced him with a look that meant he was just to do what he was told.

Hojo was about to say something and then realized he wasn’t needed anymore. Still, he would inform Kouga and the other wolves about what occurred here with Megan. They would all band against Lucian if Sesshoumaru wished it.

Alistair sat with his Father as they both looked up at the stars.

“I know that the Great Wolf Spirit does not exist and that my name is Lucian. I do what I do to humor myself since I have lived so very long. Do not hold a grudge against this old man since I have reasons I do as I do.’
“I prefer to be thought of as a crazy old man than a boring one so my brain is not addled.’
“There is a very good reason I do not wish to be called by my given name and there is a very good reason I have chosen to live the lifestyle of the Native American although I am not one myself.”

Alistair was in shock. He did not know his Father could suddenly act like a normal person like this. Perhaps he was wrong about his old man after all.

“Alistair we are going into battle. A battle that we will most likely lose and I want you to know why I do not wish for you and your mate to interfere. It is a long story so prepare yourself to listen intensely since I will not repeat myself.’
“Arashi and Balachandra were my advisors as well as my mates. We three have been unseperatable for what seems to be millenniums. I am not pleased that I have to once again take my two best friends into battle again.’
“We were the only Alphas that had survived Lucian’s law during those troublesome years when we constantly had to fight for supreme supremacy over all demons. During those times all we did was battle eventually taking control of not only Japan, but other continents as well.’
“Eventually peace treaties were signed and the majority of demons came to accept me as their Alpha and King.’
“When Lucian came into our midst many of my allies lost their lives to that bastard that is once again back to ruin our lives. I am in need of revenge for what Lucian had done to my people. This is my fight, not yours and not Toga’s. If you interfere we will lose.’
”You see although the three of us were Alphas with both Balachandra and Arashi as my second in command, we three allowed other tribes of demons to claim an Alpha within their packs that would inform us of any issues that our subjects may have had.’
“However, when Lucian came he changed all of this forcing our people to remove their Alpha status and made laws that would make our people just accept his rule.’
“Of course this ended the peace between us and many of our allies soon became our enemies. All that we had done to insure peace had been thwarted the instant Lucian mated the three of us to him.’
“Lucian killed off all who tried to rebel against him and we lost twenty of our Alphas due to Lucian’s lack of mercy towards any tribe who broke his law. It did not matter if they were male or female he just slaughtered them all.’
“Lucian almost killed off whole tribes causing fear amongst the multitudes of subjects which returned the peace, but not the kind of peace we three had hoped for. Lucian’s destruction of the respect we had earned from our people took us years to gain back after Lucian finally left us.’
“Now that he is here again I fear he will destroy the peace once again and the only reason that he did not stick around to corrupt you was because the three of us stuck to you like glue insuring that Lucian would not undo all we have done.”

Alistair frowned.

“Then why did you allow Lucian to bite me and Toga?”

Lucian looked at his son with a smile that did not go to his eyes.

“We cannot change Lucian’s first law. It is a law that has been around for thousands of years and that law will remain even if the other laws he made would be changed. It is Lucian’s way of keeping tabs on all his Alphas.’
“When Arashi, Balachandra, and I were under Lucian’s law we were forced to submit to Lord Lucian’s demands. It did not matter how much we rebelled against him. No demon or group of demons can defeat him physically. So you have to use other methods without the bastard realizing what is really going on.’
“I may not seem very intelligent to you, but I didn’t get through this life being all brawn and no brains.”

Alistair smirked a bit.

“I never thought you were stupid Father, I just think you are completely nuts sometimes.”

Chief looked up at the stars and smiled.

“I do not think you or Toga are unintelligent either. I just know that you both had to suffer as all the Alphas do when it comes to Lucian’s law, but he did not stay long enough to fully train you because of me and that was good.’
“I was his ‘best’ Alpha when I was chosen to be Alpha of all Demons. However, because I was so close to Lucian I learned both his merits and his flaws.’
“You know that Sesshoumaru is a control freak to a point. Lucian is much worse and he cannot handle chaos well.’
“You put me, Arashi, and Balachandra together and you have chaos. We made Lucian’s life a living hell and so he avoids us like the plague.’
“Normally he would kill an Alpha for being insubordinate, but we were not insubordinate. In fact we followed the bastard around doing everything he stated we should do in less time than such things should be done.’
“So every day we would ask Lucian a plethora of questions about why we had to do certain things since he apparently knew everything and we did not give him any space treading right into his personal space. It drove him nuts especially when he would ask a question and we would answer with a question.’
“So Lucian is going to see us again since unlike the three of us, Sesshoumaru will try to control the situation and unfortunately is too respectful as well as quiet to deal with this jerk.’
“So we three are going to see if we can undo some damage. The only drawback to this is of course Sesshoumaru himself. He will try to control our behavior and possibly cause our plan to backfire. I am hoping that Arashi’s grandson will not attempt to try and deal with Lucian on his own.’
“Sesshoumaru is a very smart young man and his three laws are simple to follow. Do not get in his way, do not talk to him unless it is absolutely necessary, and every tribe is to inform him of what his subjects are doing as long as they keep it short and to the point. These laws are simple and Sesshoumaru’s subjects loved him since they could do pretty much anything they wanted to do as long as they do not cause problems for him.’
“Of course Sesshoumaru’s Alpha laws are the same as every Alpha. However, Lucian will do everything in his power to change Sesshoumaru into an insufferable despot. We cannot allow that to happen.”

Alistair sighed.

“Well that explains a few things, but it doesn’t help me understand why you don’t want to be called Lucian when it is your name too.”

Chief smiled at his son.

“Do you really need to know the answer to that question? It is simple. I hate Lucian so why would I want to be named after a person I hate?’
“Of course Arashi, Balachandra, and our mates do not respect my wishes, but they have earned the right to call me by my first name even if I hate it. You and our grandchildren will respect my wishes since I indeed was a Chief over a group of shape shifting half demons who thought they were human. Because of them I have more respect for hanyous than I do for any other race.”

At that Chief drank the rest of the whiskey in his bottle and headed back inside the house leaving Alistair to contemplate his words.

Sesshoumaru watched as Lucian tucked Megan into the bed.

“I do not understand why you young people fight me so. It will only cause you frustration and pain. Once you get to know me you will see how easy things can be for all of you.”

Sesshoumaru felt completely defeated since how could he fight this foe since he was able to physically take anything that he and Inuyasha threw at him.

Sesshoumaru was used to the fact that most demons just made sure they were not in his way so he did not have to fight anyone for many years. It made things much simpler and in the end life was good for the majority of demons that he ruled over. His people were even allowed to vote for their representatives which in most monarchies were never heard of.

Once Megan was settled into the bed Sesshoumaru proceeded to remove his shirt, shoes, and socks getting ready for bed ignoring the appraising looks of Lucian who was of course taking in all of his young mate’s charms. Sesshoumaru was a fine specimen of a demon male and Lucian would eventually take him and teach him new ways to pleasure his mates.

Still, this was not the time to act on his instincts. He made a grave mistake in harming Megan and it would take time for his two young men to forgive him even if it was a mistake.

Inuyasha followed suit as he too removed his clothing leaving only his boxer briefs on. Lucian looked at the underclothing with curiosity. He would have to inquire about them later on since Lucian did not wear underclothing finding it to be too restricting.

Sesshoumaru moved cautiously onto the bed in order to not awaken Megan and sadly was unable to hold his female since she was still in a lot of pain even with the blood that was given to her.

“We should have washed the blood out of her hair Sesshoumaru. She is going to have a fit about that in the morning.”

Inuyasha stated as both men lay on either sides of Megan wishing there was something they could do to make her feel better.

“We will wash it in the morning. Right now she needs rest.”

Sesshoumaru stated softly since he would not sleep at all tonight keeping vigil over his beloved.

Lucian slid into the bed behind Sesshoumaru completely naked. Sesshoumaru frowned as a possessive arm wrapped around his waist and Inuyasha did his best to keep his legendary temper in check.

With a wave of his hand, Lucian sent out his power causing both demon men to fall into a deep slumber.

“I will take watch this night Sesshoumaru.”
