Chapter Eleven: Going Home

Kagome woke later that day, her body had a pleasant feeling to it, and the feel of Sesshomaru’s arms around her made her even more content.

So much had happened in her life. First she was drawn into a well, thrown into a different time, and then ended up falling first in love with a hanyuu, then soon his older brother! Kagome sighed as she remembered all the adventures with Inuyasha. Though honestly, she felt kind of bad of thinking about Sesshomaru’s brother while Sesshomaru was lying next to her.

She remembered the first time she was trapped here in her time. She sat at the large tree where Inuyasha was once pined to, and silently wished that she went back. Suddenly a thought struck her. Sitting up suddenly, she awoke Sesshomaru from his dreams.

“What’s wrong?” Sesshomaru asked as he looked at his mate.

“Get dressed Sesshomaru.” She practically ordered as she gathered her clothes. “And I mean into your Kimono. I think I know how to get back. I can’t believe the answer was right in front of us the whole time…”

Sesshomaru, though still a bit tired, did as he was told. Kagome had already left the room, and Sesshomaru was finally finishing up putting his armor on. Oh it felt so good to be wearing those clothes again. Sesshomaru looked himself in the mirror and smirked. He looked just as menacing now, as he did a month ago.

“Are you ready?” Kagome called from downstairs.

The Taiyokai sighed and began to head downstairs. At first it didn’t register that he was going back till he saw Kagome in her school uniform. That’s when it hit him. They could go back to his time, stop Naraku from killing Rin and Jaken, and Sesshomaru could tear the yokai apart. Instantly a smirk crossed his lips as he thought of the possibilities.

He followed Kagome out, and glances at the ruins of the old well. “What makes you think we can go back?” Sesshomaru asked, watching Kagome carefully.

She walked over to the sacred tree and smiled. “This Tree has a lot of history to it. In fact, this was the very tree that Inuyasha was pinned to. And one time, when I got stuck here, I stayed by this tree, wishing to go back. Right then, the well started to work and send me back. On top of that, it connected me with Inuyasha.” She held up the enchanted beads. “Theses are Inuyasha’s beads. On top of that, you being a powerful Taiyokai, I’m willing to bet that both, you and the beads, can get us back to your time with the tree included.

Sesshomaru thought for a moment before giving a small nod. It was worth a shot. If this really was the tree that pinned his idiotic half brother, then maybe he could get it to send them back.

Kagome walked up to the tree and placed her finger where the small indent of the arrow was in. She had seen it so many times, and now it told her true meaning. This was where Inuyasha once lay. And now it was going to help them get back. Slowly, the tree began to glow brightly, and Kagome could feel herself being pulled inside of it.

“Sesshomaru!” Kagome called out, reaching out to him.

Instantly seeing what was happening, Sesshomaru grabbed Kagome’s hand, but couldn’t pull her back. Not like he would want to anyway. Instead, he allowed the tree to suck them in. They were going back. And this time, history was going to change.

“Wind scar!”

“Your too late Inuyasha. Your bother and your beloved Kagome are already dead. And there’s nothing you can do about it.” Naraku’s demon puppet crackled as he was destroyed by Inuyasha’s wind scar.

Inuyasha cursed as he looked down the well. Sure enough, Kagome and Sesshomaru’s scent ended at the well.

“What nonsense does he speak of?” Jaken cried as he too ran to the well. “Milord cannot be dead!”

“He’s not dead you stupid toad.” Inuyasha snapped. “They just went to Kagome’s time is all. And I’m going to drag them both back.”


The hanyuu jumped though the well, only to realize that he didn’t leave his time. He was still stuck in his time. Cursing, he jumped to the top, and jumped in again. Still, he was in their time.

“Damn it!” He yelled. “Why cant I go back?!”

“The well blew up on the other side.” Kagome said as she approached the group. Sesshomaru stood behind her, and quickly looked around. His eyes softened to see Rin and Jaken standing not too far away.

“Milord!” Jaken cried as he ran up to Sesshomaru. He stopped about a foot away, but Rin ran up and hugged Sesshomaru tightly. He knelt down and grabbed the girl, holding her tightly to everyone’s surprise. Her scent, her warmth. This was really Rin. She was still alive. Relief filled his body and he didn’t care if he looked to be a complete sap in front of everyone.

“Sesshomaru-sama, what happened?” Rin asked as she pulled away to look in her lord’s eyes. “You disappeared down the well with Kagome-chan.”

“That’s another story, for another time.” Sesshomaru placed Rin down and looked at Jaken. “How long have we been gone?”

“An hour at most milord.” Jaken said, quite relieved that Sesshomaru had returned. Though this odd affection he was showing the human girl seemed odd.

“Kagome!” Sango, Miroku, and Shippo cried out. Kikyo stayed silent, and Inuyasha didn’t know if he should hug her, or hit her for running away. That was till a scent reached his nose.

The hanyuu pushed by everyone else, grabbed Kagome, and tugged her shirt down. ‘What the hell Kagome?!” He snapped to revile Sesshomaru’s mark. “You leave for an hour and you already slept with my brother?”

Kagome frowned and held back from slapping the hanyuu. “For your information, an hour may have passed here, but Sesshomaru and I have been gone for a month. I learned a lot about him in that month. Why should you care anyway? You’re with Kikyo now. So don’t you dare just toss her aside just because I came back.”

Kikyo smiled at Kagome’s remark and walked up to her. “You shouldn’t have come back Kagome.” She said calmly. After all, this isn’t your time. But I’m curious to know how you came back if the well in your time was broken.”

“We came back to stop certain events from happening. We both want a piece of Naraku now. And we’re going to get it.” Kagome looked around to see if she could find Koga. By this time he must have ran off. “I suggest we combine our two parties and hunt Naraku down. Inuyasha, I know you hate Sesshomaru, but I think you can put up with him for a month.”

“What makes you think that Sesshomaru-sama would want to team up with that hanyuu?” Jaken snapped.

Kagome smirked. “Because he knows what happens. That’s why.”

Sesshomaru hid a smile. It seemed like he did pick the perfect woman. Even though she was snappy, she got her point across. “This Sesshomaru agrees.” He asked.

Jaken stood there with his jaw dropped, as well as Inuyasha.

“Your not serious Kagome.” Inuyasha practically begged.

“I’m quite serious Inuyasha. This time, we’ll get Naraku. And this time, no one is going to die.” With this promise made, they headed back to the village in hope of rest.

A/N: yay! Another chapter done! I’m probably not going to update till tomorrow or late tonight. Why? Because its going to be a busy day at work. And my boss will finally force me to sweep. Now, I’m actually almost done with this story. I’m still looking for a beta if someone wishes to beta for me. Like always R&R
