Worlds clash

Shizuka and Kurama froze and stared at the little girl.

% A WHAT? % Shizuka looked at her in shock. % Why didn’t you tell me? %

“I sort of did.”

“How do you sort of tell someone something?” Asked Kurama looking at the young girl.

“When Shizuka first found me I was covered in blood and surrounded by the remains of my family.”

%You said it was a group of robbers. %

“That was true. But I lied about a lot of other things. The little human girl you met had died. But her soul wasn’t taken. So I was called down from my mountain home and asked. No that is a lie as well. Forced would be a better word for it, into the body of this frail human child. Little did the human know that I was demon that survived on blood lust.” She smirked.

% Blood lust… % Shizuka looked at the little girl. % Hotaru… are you saying that you murdered all of those people? Is Hotaru your real name or are you, the demon, called something else. %

“My mother never gave me a name when I was born. She threw me away. No one wants a half-breed for a child. So I lived roaming the earth I was taken in by the forest. I found out I was half plant demon. It raised me until I could fight and survive on my own. I went back out into the world and found my mother. She had married a human man and had five beautiful children,” Hotaru’s eyes flashed “I appeared in the front of the hut where they lived. I knocked on the hut. The youngest opened the curtain and asked what my business was. I didn’t even flinch. I drove my fingers into her frail body and ripped out her throat. She died quickly and painlessly. I heard my mother’s scream and her husband grab his sword. Before he could I reached out and snapped it like a twig. He asked why was I attacking them. I just smiled and said that he should ask the woman he married. She looked at me and began to cry. She spilled out how she got rid of me and left me to die after giving birth to a half-breed. She cried over and over again how ‘sorry she was’. It was too late. With their youngest daughter’s blood on my hand I reached over and killed the second youngest. They watched in horror as I killed off each and every one of their children. Then I walked over and killed her husband. I killed all of them, quickly and painlessly. With their blood on my hands I sliced off her hands. I watched her. For 3 hours, until her heart stopped beating. Just before it did I found out she had 6 children. She had been married off already a King and was pregnant. With that information I was off. Traveling looking for news of a newborn to a kingdom. There was no news for years. I searched and searched. Then one night I was attacked by some full-blooded demons. I died that night. For years my soul wandered looking for some way to fine out who this woman was and her off spring. I would kill them off. I still search and will not rest until I do. Then a year ago the girl I am in died and the parents went to a witch and had her call back the soul. They couldn’t reach the soul so I flew into her. The next day, robbers attacked them. I sat hidden from them for this body was frail. The humans were killed and just smelling the blood was wonderful. It had been too long since I last smelt, tasted the metallic liquid. So when you found me I had just finished rolling in their blood.”

% But why me? Why did you follow me? %

“You smelt of blood. I believed if I followed you I would be able to get more. And don’t try to kill me. This soul will travel until I kill every last one of those bastards.”

% So you were using me to find this woman and her offspring? And all you want to do is kill the kid and it’s mom and then what? %

“I can die in peace.” Kurama watched how Shizuka was not in the least bit worried or upset that she was used.

% I can tell you about this woman and her offspring. % Both Kurama and Hotaru looked at her in shock and wonder. % My mother told me a story when I was a pup. A beautiful peasant girl was married off to a prince that fell in love with her. He became King and she Queen. They gave birth to a beautiful little girl who intern gave birth to a beautiful little girl. She fell in love with a different type of royalty. He was the leader of a pack of kitsune. They mated and she gave birth to a beautiful boy. She lived for 3 weeks after his birth before she passed on. His father raised him and he was accepted as a member and next in line for leader. He mated to a kitsune as well and had a beautiful little girl. The only trace of human in her was instead of the beautiful silver hair she had black tips on her ears and end of her hair. She was to be mated to a bat demon that saved her life. He died and she found and took in a human child as her own. % Hotaru looked up at Shizuka in horror. The person she was to extract her revenge on had been like a mother to her for the past year. And yet here she stood showing that she was not afraid that a bloodthirsty killer she had been raising and caring for.

“You mean that you are the one I have spent so many years looking for? And you are not running or trying to kill me before I kill you?”

%You are like my pup. I could and would never hurt you.%

“You… You mean you… Is that why you smile every time when you do get caught when I say ‘mommy’?” Shizuka nodded and looked into the eyes of the child with such a blood thirst she just wished she would stop her thirst so that she may help her live out the human body’s life to the fullest.
