Love Me For An Eternity

They reached the hospital thirty minutes later.

Sesshomaru and Kagome walked over to the front desk.

"We are here to speak with Inuyasha Tashio." said Sess.

"Oh you must be Sesshomaru and Kagome Tashio. Follow me please." said the nurse as she walked the to a room at the end of the hall.

She walked them into a dark room. She turned on the light and Kagome could see Inuyasha hooked up to a bunch of machines. He opened his eyes when the light came on and looked at them both.

Kagome gasped when she looked into his eyes. There was so much sorrow in his eyes and they looked dull. As if he was already dead to the world.

"I'll leave you alone for now." said the nurse as she walked out of the room leaving them there.

"Sess can I speak to Inuyasha alone please?" Kagome asked in a small voice filled with sorrow.

Sess hugged her tightly and then nodded his head as he turned and walked out the door. Leaveing Kagome alone with Inuyasha.

"Ka-go-me..." said Inuyasha holding his hand out for her to come closer.

Kagome flinched at the sound of his voice. It was cracked from non-use or from screaming at doctors she did not know. She walked over to the bed and held his hand in hers.

"Ka-gome. (caugh) I wanted to say something to you and I wanted to ask a favor of you. Will you listen to me Kagome?" asked Inuyasha.

"I'm listening Inuyasha. I'm here for you." said Kagome.

Inuyasha looked away. "I wanted to say sorry." he said.

"What?" asked Kagome.

Inuyasha turned to look at her completly. "I wanted to say sorry. For not always being there for you. For not listening to you. For treating you so badly. For cheating on you with .. with Kikyou. For it all Kagome... for all the hell I put you through... I'm really sorry. I hope that one day you will forgive me for all the wrongs I have done to you." Inuyasha said.

Kagome was shocked. She had never thought that she would ever hear those words come from Inuyashas mouth. "It's alright Inuyasha. I forgive you already." she said as she gave him a hug.

"Thank you Kagome... for always being there no matter what happened." said Inuyasha.

"No thanks need Inuyasha." she said with tears in her eyes.

"Kagome... there's something I need to ask you. Something important." said Inuyasha looking at her with sad eyes.

"I'm listening Inuyasha." she said.

"... Kagome my son... Kikyou's and my son survived the car accident. I do not wish for him to be in the care of someone I do not even know. I want to know that my son will be safe and taken care of forever. It is my greatest wish for..... for you and my cousin Sesshomaru... to raise my son in Kikyou's and my place. I know that you can give him the love he will need. I also know that you would raise him well. So I ask of you to at least consider doing this one last thing for me Kagome... please take my son into your heart as if he was your own. Please give him the things that we couldn't give him." Inuyasha finished and had tears in his eyes as he looked Kagome in the eye.

"Inu-yasha... I don't even need to consider it. I will raise him for you and Kikyou. I will do my best and I will love him as if he was my own." Kagome said as she hugged Inuyasha again.

"Thank you so very much Kagome. I can smell that you are expecting your own child. I can only hope that they will grow to be brother and sister and the best of friends." said Inuyasha.

"That would be great... wait a minute... what do you mean brother and sister? I do not know if mine is a boy or girl yet." said Kagome looking confused.

Inuyasha laughed at her weakly. "I can tell that you will have a girl Kagome. I hope my son will protect her from harm and love her as a sister." he said.

"Thank you Inuyasha. Thank you for telling me. I know they will adore each other." she said.

Inuyasha's eyes were getting heavy and he felt light. As if he would float away if he closed his eyes. He knew his time had come. It was time to say good bye.

"Kagome it's time for me to leave this world now. I wish you happiness for an eternity with Sesshomaru. I wish the best of luck for your daughter as well. I wanted you to know that I did love you." Inuyasha said as his voice got lower.

"I know I loved you too Inuyasha." Kagome said as her tears fell down her face.

"No you don't understand Kagome. I will love you for an eternity Kagome for you were my first real love." Inuyasha said as he closed his eyes. His breathing lowering. His heartbeat getting faint as the moments went by.

Kagome cryed her eyes out and hugged Inuyasha to her. "Don't go Inuyasha stay please." she begged.

"I can't... stay anymore Kagome... Kikyou waits for me.... Take care Kagome." Inuyasha said right before his heart stopped.

The alarms went off as Inuyasha left his body and floated away to where Kikyou waited for him.

Kagome just held Inuyashas body to her as she cried for him and for his son whom will never meet his father and mother. She cried for what seemed ages.

The next thing she knew she was in Sesshomaru's arms as he tried to comfort her from the lost of Inuyasha.
