Well here is chapter 10 after such a long wait lol I kept getting stuck so I hope it lives up to your expectations. It is double the normal (I was surprised) Tell me what you think.

Chapter Ten, Part 2: The Thunder Brothers vs. Tetsusaiga - more Jewel Shards Gained

“Can you see a way kit?” I was crouched behind the rocks watching the Thunder brothers with narrowed eyes to make sure we had not been spotted from our hiding place where we were trying to gauge the distance between us, the cloud that seated the younger brother and Kagome. One of my ears was trained forward to keep track of what was going on while the other was trained on Shippo to make sure he was safe.

I could feel the kit stretch as high as he could on my head his tail unconsciously tickling my ears with every twitch it gave from the kits concentration. My nostrils expanded with every breath as I tried my hand at scenting out what electricity smelled like to have a warning (like when we were all attacked on the peaks) when one of the two brothers would strike again.

I switched my concentration from the oldest brother back to the youngest brother and focused my eyesight on Kagome ‘still not having the full ability of controlling my Hanyou ability’s is annoying especially at a time like this’ growling in the back of my throat as it took me several minutes to pin her fully in my sight. It was uplifting to see she was still unhurt when Shippo moved from my head to my shoulder and accidentally knocked one of my ears with his paw like feet on the join of the ear to my head.

My body flinched backwards, my vision white and in a dizzying movement landed straight on my backside my breath whooshing out at the jarring sensation of my back meeting the floor, while looking bemusedly up at the darkened sky. Blinking I brought up a hand to rub my head, especially where it was sore, and rubbed the base of my flattened ear as it lay against my hair tightly one eye closing as more pain shot out from that area but not as much as when the kit kicked it by accident.

‘Where’s the kit?’ I blinked again and pushed myself up with one hand while still massaging my ear back to its normal place on my head while I looked around for Shippo. After not finding him anywhere near me, I moved back to the rocks my balance returning after being thrown and looked over them. My eyes widened at Inuyasha who was fighting with Hiten while moving through the rocks and boulders with grace I still had not attained for battle yet.

Taking my eyes off the two boys who were fighting I looked around for the kit an inner feeling not letting me rest until I knew the kit was alright and nearby to protect. Soon I spotted the kit nearby Monten’s cloud on a rocky hill looking very determined. I took in a relieved breath and darted out from my hiding place to where Shippo was climbing, when I got near by I picked him up and swung him on to my shoulder ignoring his cry’s as I used my speed and strength to jump up the trail to where Kagome was.

“No fair! That’s two against one!” Looking up at that shout I stopped suddenly my jaw dropping as I saw Kagome pitch Monten off his cloud towards the ground, Monten was yelling all the way down, I snorted surprised at his gullible nature when Shippo sprang on to my head again holding my braid tightly in his hands. “KAGOME!” I cringed at Shippo’s loud voice right by my ear and looked up at his and Inuyasha’s cry to see her falling; the cloud completely gone, frowning I moved as quickly as I could towards her and the crater in the ground.

“Hold on Kagome, I’ll come for you as soon as I finish him off!” One of my ears flicked back at Inuyasha’s voice as I pushed myself quicker trying in vain to get to her before she landed in the crater like a pancake “Hurry because gravity isn’t on my side here!?” I breathed harshly as Kagome vanished into the crater and raced to the side of it, only to stop in surprise. At the same time Shippo lost his grip and fell off dangling from my braid though I did not notice, my eyebrows high as I saw her sitting rubbing her back after landing on Monten who seemed to be dead.

“You alright there girl?” She looked up at me “oh well, at least the fall didn’t kill me” I gave a small smile barely noticeable at her and got ready to jump down to get Kagome when Monten moved. My eyes widened as an angry Monten got up “No but I might” Kagome jumped as she squeaked and began backing away as fast as she could her eyes wide in fright “Gahh, I thought you were dead!” I ran along the side of the crater keeping up with them both “Wench!” Then Kagome tripped over when Monten called out that insult and I groaned in exasperation as I jumped down in front of Kagome to protect her from his wrath.

Monten stopped his expression of extreme fury as he glared at me; I stood my ground and glared back a growl working its way out of my throat. “Move out the way, Wench!” I snorted my expression one of loathing “Why should I?” His eyes narrowed as his lips pulled back revealing very sharp teeth “Or I will use you as my plaything Hanyou!” I snarled quite audibly showing I did not care for his opinion as I got into a fighting stance.

Monten’s eyes seemed to glow as he got ready to attack me…

….When a spinning top landed on Monten’s head and grew to enormous proportions that sent him to the ground. Both Kagome and I just stood there and watched in no small amount of shock at this turn of events. “Hey you two get away while you can!” We both turned to see Shippo on the top of the crater “Right!” I looked at Kagome as she ran to the side and began to climb up.

Moving behind her I gave her a boost up the side and then jumped up myself to where it was safer, though I was really wary of Monten still something didn’t seem right about the situation, something seemed off with the method Shippo used to get us out of the crater. “Wow, nice move down there” Glancing at Shippo I saw he looked very pleased with himself “Ah it was nothing!” I gave a nod though my brow furrowed in thought ‘What was a Kitsune’s special ability again? I know it, I do’ “It’s far too early for celebration” I glanced at the flea that had appeared on the kits shoulder.

“You and your big mouth!” I chuckled at Shippo’s mumble as I looked back at the spinning top and noticed it seemed see-through right at the top “That’s it!” I had clenched a fist and turned back to Kagome and the others a triumphant look on my face. Kagome looked warily at me “What’s it?” I looked at Shippo and gave a smirk “Illusion’s are a Kitsune’s special ability; they look real and feel real but only last a certain amount of time!” Myoga blinked and then nodded “Precisely” Shippo scowled at the ground his mood darkened considerably.

“Wow, I thought it was real.” I looked over at Kagome and saw her surprised look at my statement “Yet it is not, look!” We all looked back at Myoga’s statement and saw the spinning top revert back to its original shape as it finished spinning and fell off Monten’s head. It was then I noticed the last hair on his head was bending to far over and grabbed Kagome and Shippo and bolted out of that area. “Why are we running?” I looked at Kagome “The last hair on Monten’s head is going to fall.” Her eyes widened as it sunk in and Shippo hid his head in my side where I held him “He’ll kill us!”

I raced for cover when I smelled the slight burning the electricity gives off and hid behind some boulders hopefully safe for the moment. When the shaking finally stopped I turned around and moved up only enough to peak over the top to see if I could spot Monten, my eyes widened and I pulled myself back down as we all heard him pass us by “I can smell your fear” Turning my head I looked at Kagome and Shippo my eyes as wide as they could go, terrified of Monten and the power he possessed my breath coming out in pants “I’ll hunt you down!” Moving into a crouch swallowing I peaked over the top of the boulders as I watched him move a bit further away from where we were all situated.

“And use one for my hair potion, one for a new pelt and the other for a playmate I will break” I moved back down and turned my attention to Kagome and Shippo “You got any bright ideas?” Frowning I turned my attention back to Monten not liking the situation we were stuck in when I noticed the arrow stuck in Monten’s nose the exact same time Kagome did as she kneeled up beside me “Wait a minute that arrow!” I turned my attention to the girl beside me “Got a plan?” She nodded as we both moved back down by Shippo “Maybe I could use it again.”

Blinking I tilted my head as Kagome looked at both Shippo and I with a determined expression “I’m going to need both of your help to…”

Moving as quickly and quietly as I could manage, I slipped from behind the bolder that all three of us had hidden behind and moved behind other boulders nearer Monten to be ready to use the plan that Kagome had come up with. My ears twitched in irritation of the situation we found ourselves in. Sighing silently I peaked out from the new hiding place I had found which gave a great view of what looked like Kagome on the ground a few feet from the bolder where we had all been hiding, ‘I really hope this works’

I narrowed my eyes irritated as I watched Monten grab fake Kagome by the hair and growled quite audibly my teeth bared when I saw she looked unconscious and moved closer, she then opened her eyes smirking while her hair bound Monten’s hands from moving. That’s when I knew it was the cue for Kagome and me to go help take Monten down before he harmed us or even killed us; also I really wanted Shippo-who-was-playing-Kagome out of harms way.

Seeing Kagome come out from where she had been hiding I moved as well and helped Shippo restrain Monten as Kagome grabbed the arrow through his nose “I’ll be taking that arrow back if you don’t mind!” and yanked it out making him cry out in surprise and pain. Growling Monten began to reach forward glaring at mostly Shippo though I could see him keeping an eye out the side at Kagome and me “You! That miserable fox!”

Teeth bared in a snarl on Shippo-who-was-playing-Kagome glared back in anger as he lost control on the illusion of Kagome’s hair colour “In the flesh and blood. Here for my father’s revenge!” Breathing hard I helped Shippo hold down the thunder brother as Kagome raised the arrow with both hands “Hold him tight you two! This may be our last chance!” Clenching my teeth together I gripped his arm tighter forcing him to stay still even as he struggled. ‘Kagome please hit the jewel shards’ Narrowing her eyes Kagome brought the arrow down towards Monten’s head ‘Come on!’ grinding my teeth I held on even tighter, my claws digging in as Monten began to turn in Kagome’s direction “Here goes nothing!”

My eyes widened as Monten noticed the arrow coming towards him and with a bellow ripped my clawed hand and Shippo’s illusion hair off as he swung his fist across Kagome’s face with a grunt of triumph, as she cried out and fell to the floor. Then he turned to both of us, after reverting Shippo to his normal form he kicked him away, then he grabbed a hold of my neck in a harsh grip as I tried to get around him to see to Kagome who looked hurt and was bleeding slightly.

Finally having a good grip around my neck so I was running out of air as I scratched and clawed at his hand growls and snarls stifled in my chest by his hand, he turned to Kagome and used the other to begin strangulating her as well to kill two birds with one stone, choking she called out to Inuyasha as she lost her own breath. A silent snarl on my face, lips pulled back to reveal my canines, as I pulled back against his hand my mind falling into some instincts I had never encountered before.

/Threat\ Eyes dilating as my chest heaved for breath my mind falling even further into the darkness that seemed strangely ominous /Hurting Pack\-Whah?- A whine escaped from my closed up throat as my eyelids fell to half mast ‘too weak… not strong… enough…’ Grinning Monten’s hand closed even further to a point a humans bones would have been crushed but only bruised my neck /Danger\ -Hell- I could hear talking but it seemed to all be fading, /Kill\ -Can’t breath- When suddenly as red blur latched itself onto Monten’s arm next to my head, /Pup?\ -Weak- My eyes focused suddenly on Shippo with frightening intensity, when with a swing back, Monten’s fist struck the kit sending him flying somehow missing my head at the same time.

/My Pup!\ -Oh Bloody Hell!?- My head turned as much as it could and focused on the kit who I had adopted as my own I could feel it inside (though I had no way of knowing how to parent a kit/pup/child I would learn) /Protect Pup!\ -‘Snort’ How?- Narrowing my eyes I forced my failing body to slump as though I had fainted ‘not a hard thing to do’ and slackened enough for Monten to notice; when the kit again attacked Monten. This time sticking his baby fangs/teeth into the skin of Monten’s neck and clamping down hard enough to not be moved.

Now my instincts at that point had been fairly tame until that point; they had been around human levels to allow me a smooth transition into my new body and life, it slowly filtered my demon senses and soul into my mind and body. But with the danger the little one was putting himself in, made something inside of my mind snap into place. Like a lost puzzle piece finally finding its way into its correct position and the voice that had been in the back of my mind for the past five minutes, joined where my human self was and how did I know this? A new voice deeper and more instinctive than my human side was sending thoughts of protection and anger at the one hurting my pack.

/Protect Pup!\ -How the hell am I meant to protect the kit!- My body had fully sagged at this time, I had no strength left and no breath, but I kept my unwavering gaze on the kit as Monten tried to dislodge him as I amusedly listened to the conversation in the back of my mind /Protect Pack\ -I can’t even move idiot!- When wetness brought me out of the slight daze I had gone in to, as I lay on the floor not realising I had been freed from Monten’s grasp.

-You know you can move yeh?- /Protect Pack!\ -Is that all you can say?!- Opening my eyes while ignoring the voices in the back of my mind I took in a breath and immediately began coughing like something had been stuck in my throat, rubbing it I got onto my hands and knees and lifted my head my breath coming in pants as my demon side healed the damage done to my throat. “Get out of there before he kills you!” Ears twisting towards the voice of Inuyasha instantly reminded me of were we where and twisting round saw Monten lying on the ground with the Tetsusaiga sticking out of his back in its rusted form /Death Come\ -Well he won’t get up any time soon-

/Danger! Pack!\ Looking up, my breath coming easier I saw Hiten coming in a direct line towards up his thunder rod drawn to attack, with a chocked sound of rage ran over to Kagome; to do what I did not know protect her probably; for the same time I got to her a blast of lightening hit the rocks in front of us all and sent us flying down the incline knocking me for six and rattling my senses as I blinked dazedly at the sky /Pup?\ I nodded my head dazedly as I pushed myself up into a sitting position my legs straight out in front of me on the ground the kit lay on a fox pelt that he seemed to be quite content with, ‘Pup Safe’ a rumble of satisfaction was heard in my mind at the same time as laughter was heard from a more human counterpart.

“Kagome, Shade are you both alright?” I blinked up at Inuyasha who was crouching near us both “I’m ok Inuyasha” Nodding his head to Kagome he gave me a side glance, blinking I gave a slight smile that seemed to settle his nerves “Though I dropped the Tetsusaiga when we were hit by the lightening attack.” He sighed and then looked over at me “Hey couldn’t you have got it?!” Snorting I pushed myself up onto my feet and moved over to the kits side “I don’t have your resilience Inuyasha to most things; I’m still new at this and learning!” Grumbling under his breath about idiotic females and how they were useless “Hey!”

He turned his attention back to Kagome as she began to speak again and drew my attention as well “I’m sorry I messed up before” before she could say anymore Inuyasha butted in “Damned right you messed up and messed up big time both of you but sword or no sword, your wrong to think I’m going to let Hiten get the better of me!” –He’s full of himself don you think?- /Pack Together\ ‘Yeh’ Smirking I turned away from Inuyasha and Kagome and moved crouching beside the kit as I tilted my head at him. Tucking him in to the pelt I moved back one hand trailing over Shippo’s back as he lay in his unconscious state.

“You slaughtered my Brother!” The voice of Hiten came to me loud and clear in the heavy air and I lifted my head to see what he was up to and swallowed to see him bit into Monten’s head where the Jewel Shards lay in his forehead /Power Gain\ -Damn is that bad?- /Threat\ I narrowed my eyes excepting what I was hearing in my own head as I watched carefully for any signs of danger from Hiten so I could protect the kit. /My Pup\

“Hiten’s a cannibal?” I moved in front of Shippo not taking any chances as all four of us carefully watched Hiten for signs of aggression. “Wait things are not always what they appear!” Well all looked down to see the flea Myoga hopping towards us after hiding away somewhere from the danger of the Thunder Brothers. “Hiten bit into Monten’s head to gain the Sacred Jewel shards and fuse them with his body” Snarling under my breath I looked back at Shippo.

“So he gains more power with five Jewel Shards instead of three.” My ears lay back at the thought “Exactly master be careful when you face him this time for he will be even more powerful.” I looked over my shoulder at them as Inuyasha watched Myoga hop to his shoulder “Gee you think, oh while we’re at it do you want to explain your noticeable absence until now?!” Blinking I shook my head ‘Missing I did not notice’ –Feh none did; I didn’t- /Weak\ Humming in agreement with the voices “Convenient that you disappeared just as the going got tough!”

Giving a half smile I added my two cents “Yeh Myoga not very mentor like of you!” Annoyed Inuyasha pointed an annoyed finger at the flea “Catch that! That’s what we call sarcasm as it wasn’t convenient that you went a bailed out on us when we needed you most!” Grinning outright I turned back to Shippo and tucked the pelt around him happy to see him resting peacefully in such a dangerous situation for Hiten could attack at any moment.

Then smelling the lightening in the air I grabbed Shippo and the pelt while Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and we jumped away from the point of contact that could have killed us all. Landing Shippo cuddled to my chest with the pelt around him I turned to the fog of dirt that was slowly revealing Hiten with a murderous expression on his face “How dare you strike down my beloved brother. I shall not stop until I have returned the deed tenfold!”

I was tense, here was a powerful enemy I could not fight and people to protect, Inuyasha caught my eye as he turned towards Hiten “Shade, Kagome take Shippo and get as far as you are able to!” I nodded very slight to him and his brow furrowed as he turned his attention fully on his enemy “Right Kagome lets go!” She turned to look at me shocked “But I can’t leave Inuyasha!” I scowled and pushed into her to make her go “You have to now move it! He can protect you better if you are not around to get hurt!”

Finally getting Kagome to go in the opposite direction of the battle about to commence I turned around once more and looked upon Inuyasha who was tense /Alpha Male Defeat Lightening Youkai\ ‘Yeh’ Nodding my head I turned around and with Shippo clutched to my breast moved quickly to catch up to Kagome. “I shall avenge my brother! Now prepare to die!” Cursing under my breath I caught up with Kagome as she ducked behind some boulders, following her I set Shippo down on the pelt and tucked him into it.

Breathing out harshly I joined Kagome who looked really terrified at the moment and I could see why. A huge ball of lightening was heading straight for Inuyasha and he could not dodge it with his speed it was too quick. “He can’t dodge it!” I narrowed my eyes my thoughts running in circles as I tried to figure out a way that could help as Kagome grabbed my arm in a tight hold of fear.

Then we both saw Inuyasha lift up the sheaf of Tetsusaiga and hold it in front of him his expression tense as the ball of lightening got closer and closer to him, my eyes went wide ‘he can’t dodge it, oh hell’ –Use the sheaf- my eyebrows furrowed as I turned part of my attention to one of the voices in my head ‘sheaf?’ –Yeh the sheaf of Tetsusaiga will protect the leading male Inuyasha- I blinked in surprise at this ‘So he will survive?’ a growl sounded out from the other voice /Alpha Male Survive Youkai Attack!\

Breathing out in relief I turned my full attention on the battle to just see the lightening ball hit Inuyasha. I took in a sharp breath my eyes wide as Kagome cried out beside me in fear for his life. After what seemed an age the lightening ceased to exist and left Inuyasha unharmed while the ground on both sides of him were ripped up deeply showing the power that he had kept at bay. I sighed in relief that he was safe and felt Kagome relax as some of the tension from worrying about Inuyasha left both of us, we knew he would be safe from any further attacks.

But it was the smirk on his face that really began to get my worries up as he looked at the sheaf with glee and the leaped at Hiten “Fool!” Kagome gasped beside me in shock at his actions “He is going to get himself killed!” Watching anxiously we watched him push through another lightening ball with the sheaf and come out the other side, Hiten had moved and before Kagome or I could call out to him thrust the Thunder Pike through Inuyasha’s Abdomen and out his stomach in a spray of blood and muscle.

Swallowing my eyes wide and breathing in his blood scent that was strong in the air, shakly as he fell toward the ground and hit heavily *THUD* Groaning he pushed himself up partway as he kept his eyes on Hiten as I watched fretfully the battle that could claim his life if he was not more careful “INUYASHA!” I turned my head to Kagome at her cry and saw her shaking as tears rested on her eyelashes as she watched the battle. Putting a hand on her shoulder I offered what comfort I could my own tears held inside at the situation she and I had been thrust into without knowing any of the rules or ways of the people of this time.

-She can’t take to much ne?- I felt the sigh in my mind from the voice and sadness too but a slight purring came from the other and comforting feelings came from the other /Female Strong Survive Well\ Eye softening I squeezed Kagome’s shoulder slightly to show I was there and then let go both of us wanting the battle to be over as soon as possible. With my ear twitching I caught a sound to my left, I turned my head and saw Shippo was finally awake as he clutched the fox pelts head to himself.

Moving with Kagome we both crouched down by Shippo a pleased sound drifted from one of the voices in my mind. “You alright Shippo?” Rubbing his eye it took Shippo a few minutes to make a connection between Kagome’s voice and his dreams. “Kagome?” Then with a gasp he looked at us both “What happened to Monten!?” Lips tightening I shook my head as Kagome explained what had happened and moved back to the boulders to the battle of Hiten and Inuyasha that was still going strong though I could smell the tiredness that Inuyasha was slowly falling to.

Kagome and Shippo joined me to watch the battle and try to figure a way to help Inuyasha before the situation got anymore dire than it already was. “Inuyasha’s getting close to dropping in tiredness” I frowned at my words ‘no he’s way past that point’ a snort was heard from a voice –Like you he’s stubborn beyond belief- rolling my eyes at the voices amusement I scanned the battle with my eyes trying to see if there was a weakness that could be exploited.

“Hiten is hard to match with those flying wheels of his!” Snapping my head to Shippo my eyes widened as my pupils constricted as realisation gained on me ‘That’s it!’ Smirking I turned my head to Kagome “Kagome can you shoot one of the wheels Hiten uses with that arrow in your hand?” Eyes widening she looked over at Hiten and nodded her head as she began to pat herself down looking for something. Bewildered I watched her as did Shippo with a confused expression on his face “Kagome?”

She sighed her head lowered as she leaned on her hands “Oh right what’s good an arrow without a bow to use it” Blinking I leaned back and Shippo moved forward till he was between us, picked up a leaf and placed it on his red hair “Just leave it to me!” and with a puff of smoke appeared…

…what looked like a snail. My eyes went wide as Kagome sighed “I wanted a bow not a snail.” A growl came from the Shippo-turned-something “I am a bow!” Snorting I picked it up and passed him to Kagome as she notched the arrow on the string to aim for Hiten and his wheels. A cry of pain caught my attention, I looked over at Inuyasha as saw him lying on his back one eyes closed in pain as blood trickled from his wounds on his body; he looked in bad shape.

“Shoot Kagome now!” She huffed as she lined up “I’m not exactly a marksman you know!” My ears turned towards Shippo’s sigh “With me you don’t have to worry I’ll guide you” I glanced at them both and saw a smile creep up on her face “Right lets get that sucker!” she closed one eye to aim properly and let go of the arrow. It flew through the air as Hiten went to attack and finish off Inuyasha when the arrow cut clean through his left wheel, stopping him in his tracks.

I smirked pleased at this, now the battle would level out “yeh the girl can shoot!” I looked over at Kagome and saw her pleased smirk as she settled back behind the boulders as Shippo turned back into himself once more. “Great job little one” Shippo smiled up at me pleased he had been able to do something against his father’s killers. I looked back over that the battle, then my eyes went wide as Inuyasha grabbed the Thunder Pike with his left hand and pulled it towards him as Hiten sent bolts of lightening down the pike into Inuyasha.

“Wait a minute I thought you were over there fighting alongside Inuyasha!” Blinking I looked over a Kagome again and noticed Myoga bouncing up and down in his place on the boulder panicking. My eyes slid halfway shut as I watched him ‘Coward, hiding from his duty of being by Inuyasha’s side’ A snarl came from one of the voices /Weak Youkai\ -Yeh not worth getting worked up over- Shaking my head in amusement I turned my attention back to Inuyasha to see him throw away the Tetsusaiga sheaf and punch Hiten in the jaw sending him flying back into the rocks behind him.

“Good shot!” I tilted my head towards Kagome and Shippo as they watched bemusedly “That’s one way to defeat him” She sounded exasperated “Well what ever works for you” Shippo sounded tired and Myoga sounded gleeful as he danced in place as though he had not been calling Inuyasha a hopeless fool a few seconds ago.

I felt a cold chill down my spine and turned my attention back to the battle my heart pounding to see Hiten glowing a light blue, Kagome took in a sharp breath “Uhoh this is bad!” Shippo grabbed hold of my arm “He’s going to explode!” my mouth dropped as Hiten attacked Inuyasha with all his power and brought down his Thunder Pike onto the sheaf Inuyasha used to block him.

*Crack* Looking towards the battle all three of us spotted what had made that noise, the sheaf was cracking, taking in a sharp breath I looked around for something to help when Shippo moved out from the cover of the boulders and ran for Tetsusaiga. Growling about Kitsune’s that could not stay in one place under my breath, I moved after him his fathers pelt in my arms with Kagome just behind me “Shippo wait!” I nearly got him when the smell of lightening came into the air “RUN FOR IT!” Hearing Inuyasha’s voice we all looked around straight into a ball of lightening that was aimed straight for us.

At the last moment I grabbed a hold of Kagome and Shippo just as the lightening hit and sent me into darkness.

-Hey you alright?- I shook my head feeling really dazed, confused and slightly crispy judging from the smell of my clothes. I pushed with my hands, lifted my upper body upwards while pulling my legs underneath me so I was sitting upright. “Oh man my head!” I lifted a hand to the back of my head and went to press down when I touched something wet, blinking to get the fuzziness out of my vision I brought my hand back forwards and looked at it.

It was smeared with blood from the coppery smell –Must have banged it when we got thrown- “Damn no wonder my head hurts…” I muttered as I lifted my other hand and pressed it to my forehead that was burning hot meaning the headache would not go away too soon, groaning in dismay I did not hear the footsteps coming towards me or see the clawed hand until it touched me and made me scramble back in confusion and fear.

“Calm yourself Little one, you are safe” A deep voice caught my attention and I lifted my head to see who it was that had come to see me this time instead of Inuyasha’s mother. My eyes went wide and my hand dropped into my lap as I looked upon the long silver haired Youkai in-front of me who looked at me with kind golden eyes. “Long has it been since I last saw you walk the lands” I searched his eyes wanting some sort of recognition for why he knew me as a voice growled in the back of my head in respect /Pack alpha\ The other voice gasped –My lord!? oh god-

My ears lowered slightly as a light redness dusted my face “I am sorry but I cannot remember much at this time” a slight smile came to his face as he held out a clawed hand for me to take, staring at it for several seconds I then grabbed it and was pulled gently to my feet as the other hand tilted my head up that I had lowered not knowing what to do in this situation.

“I am glad to see you once again young one for I was worried for you the day I passed between realms as well as several others of my pack” I looked up at him my mind whirling in confusion “You knew me before as well and recognise me like Kaede does?” He just gave a smile at this and reached out to where I was bleeding slowly and wiped it away gently.

“Be careful! There are not many who can help you for the moment until you create alliances with others, I would not want you to pass beyond before your time.” I blinked and then turned my eyes down towards what would have been the floor in this place of shadows and moved away, my arms holding myself, my ears folded against my skull, my lips tight with irritation and confusion. “How do you all know me, first it was Izayoi, then Kaede and now you! I remember nothing! Yet you all seem to expect me to be this person who lived over 50 years ago!?”

I heard a sigh of the unknown Youkai male as he walked over and stood beside me with a hand resting on my shoulder in comfort to the situation I had found myself in “Information will fall into place with each meeting of people you used to know, the memories of your past will be revealed to you in time. Do not rush for it will be a shock to you what you will find out.” My eyelids dropped halfway as tiredness overcame me making me sway and the hand to tighten on my shoulder.

“You are returning to the other realm, I will be here when you return. I ask you only one task little one!” I blinked slowly and looked up into his face that was fading as he looked down at me a frown upon his face “Look after Inuyasha in my stead, guide him if possible and listen to your instincts.” I nodded and with a smile on his face the last thing I saw I faded to blackness my senses shut down as I passed from one realm to the other.

Opening my eyes with a jerk as I pushed myself up into a sitting position I blinked in surprise to see myself back in the place Hiten had fought Inuyasha. Looking around I judged I had been thrown by the Lightening ball away from Kagome and Shippo and hit my head on something sharp. I winced as I pressed the back of my skull the blood dry and sticky on my neck, almost instantly as I had touched the wound my head exploded in pain, groaning I staggered upright my eyes nearly closed and looked upwards, just catching the blue spirit that flew into the clouds above “Shippo…”

A hiss sounded as a voice spoke up annoyed and worried –lets go find the kit I’m worried about him- nodding my head in agreement to this statement along with the rumbling growl of the other voice I move towards where I had seen the blue fox spirit come from.

Climbing over a rock I did not notice the bullet until it hit me in the chest that sent me flying small arms and legs clasped around my stomach as I landed on my back a second time. Talking a mile to a minute none of Shippo’s words were understood as I pushed myself slowly up into a sitting position again my wound on the back of my head that had been closing was fully open again and I was too tired to heal it properly.

Sighing I lay a hand on the young Kitsune’s head and stroked his red hair calming him down, lifting my head I looked out into the distance and saw Inuyasha coming in my direction scowling about something with Kagome on his back who smiled as she saw me. Smiling softly I got up ignoring the headache that bashed the inside of my skull, the complaining of the voices in my head and held Shippo in my arms as I walked toward the rest of my Pack feeling relieved the first time that night.

Next Day

I walked along side Kagome and Shippo who stood on Kagome’s bike content with the quiet that surrounded us until Kagome spoke up “Come on Inuyasha your lips are flapping but I’m not getting any audio telling me why your so upset!” I turned my head to watch what promised to be a fun argument the way that Inuyasha was so grumpy. “I believe master Inuyasha when upset may have revealed more than he bargained for.” I looked down at Myoga as he cowered from Inuyasha’s glare, my eye brows furrowed as I thought back to the brief meeting I had had with the long silver haired Youkai when I was unconscious.

Looking back at the flea I moved over and held my had out to the flea my eyes serious “Myoga can I speak with you?” The flea looked up at me, nodded and jumped onto my palm and then my shoulder. I looked at Kagome as she looked back and then bounded off not far so I could still follow but talk with Myoga that the same time. “What is it that has you troubled?” I could hear the worry in his voice.

Looking at the ground as I walked thinking it over “What do you know of the Shadowed realm of Spirits?!” I heard Myoga take a sharp breath as the voices in my head both calmed down from whatever they were doing to listen. “The middle realm or the shadow realm it the place that spirits of the dead go when they either cannot go on to the next life or have unfinished business with the living realm.”

Making a enquiring sound to this he carried on “Well anything left unfinished like lives suddenly ended or regrets that they never were able to finish carry out while still captivated in there mortal flesh.” Breathing out harshly my eyes moved restlessly across the ground “what about dragging reborn souls from one time to another?” My voice had gone still at this as I waited for the answer.

“Well…” Myoga pondered this for a second and then spoke up again “It is possible I suppose for a soul to be taken to another realm or time if they themselves regretted certain actions or had left things unfinished that they needed to resolve.”

Breathing out the breath I had been holding I pondered my question “Lives that were lost before the purpose was known?” Myoga shifted restlessly as he became uncomfortable with the questions “It is very possible to bring a soul from one realm/time to another if the purpose was not found or they had not finished what they began!”

Myoga hopped over to my other shoulder “What brought on the questions?” Breathing in harshly my ears flicked in irritation as my eyes restlessly moved from the ground to the trees to Inuyasha and Kagome who were not too far away.

“When in the battle with Hiten who sent the lightening ball at Kagome, Shippo and I! I was knocked away from the rest of the group and hit my head rendering me unconscious, my conscious self woke up in the shadow realm that I have been in two other times. I met there a Youkai with long silver hair and golden eyes that knew me from sometime in the past who explained to me that I may be here to finish some purpose that I left unfinished with my death of my last life.” My ear twisted towards Myoga as he made a humming sound as he sorted through what I had told him.

*CRASH* “Inuyasha!” I looked to where Inuyasha and Kagome were and smiled slightly at seeing him down in the earth again doing/saying something he should not and being attacked by Kagome’s anger. “Heh he’ll never learn!” A snort sounded in my mind –yeh Demons are hard headed- /Pack\ Sniggering to myself I walked towards them as Kagome turned to me and waved a hand “HURRY UP SHADE!” With a purr sounding in my chest I ran forward towards my pack a small smile on my lips happy at the moment with the way things were.

What I did not realise was Myoga had looked carefully through what I had told him and knew who I had talked about; someone he knew had passed a long time ago that had raised a Youkai and Hanyou together before the birth of his second son, then died in protecting his son and the mother who took the Hanyou along with her own newborn and disappeared. If he was right then it meant something was to happen that would totally wreak the way of life that everyone knew at this moment in time.
