Just a Little Rivalry

Disclaimer: (Sniffles) I don’t (sniff, cough) own Inu…Inu Yasha and-and never will. Wahhhh! Sob!! Boo hoo! (Author mocks whipping eyes of imaginary tears.) Okay, now that I have that out in the open, we may move on and get over this. I will admit to having fun goofing off while I write this though.

Chapter 11: Stalkers

Inu Yasha was aware of the three that were keeping a close eye on them. Well, at least the two older ones were paying them attention while the youngest was being pulled around with the older two. He was merely waiting for them to start something so that he could take care of them.

As he and Kagome left the arcade, he noticed them tailing them. His cell rang just as they reached his car. It was Sesshomaru. Apparently Miroku had just showed up with Sango and Rin.

Inu Yasha was in the process of ushering Kagome into the passenger side when he was tapped on the shoulder.

“How’s it going, Yasha? Found yourself a nice new girl? You know that Onigumo just might take her again. You two seem to have similar tastes in women, or should I say little girls?” Naraku was taunting Inu Yasha, watching his reaction very closely.

Inu Yasha responded just as Naraku and Muso wished; he got angry and defensive.

“What the hell do you think you are doing, bastard? Get the fuck away from my mate and me!” Inu Yasha was growling fiercely.

All of the sudden, another voice was heard, and it was one that Kagome was thankful to hear.

“What do you think you are doing to my friends?”

Kagome turned worried eyes toward Koga as he walked from his car toward Inu Yasha.

Muso smirked at Koga, who in turned sneered at him. “You don’t want to fight Inu Yasha, myself and Sesshomaru, do you all? To my way of thinking, that could be suicide.”

Naraku laughed and Muso said, “What could the three of you do to us?”

Right then, Naraku gave an order, “Let’s go. We can resolve this some other place than a public parking lot.”

Kagome began to breathe just a touch easier, but only a little. She looked at Inu Yasha and then at Koga again. Koga’s response to her gaze was a smile and a shrug that was just his.

“What the hell were they wanting?” His question was aimed at Inu Yasha.

Inu Yasha shook his head and said, “I don’t really know. I think that they were just trying to intimidate me. I’m now convinced that they were the ones who got a hold of Kikyo. What brought you along at just the right time?”

“I got a call from Sesshomaru this morning. He seemed really thrilled about your mating Kagome. He told me that you were here picking out a ring, so I thought that I would come and check up on you two.” He leaned over and gave Kagome a hug in a form of congratulations. He met Inu Yasha’s look and smiled. “I’m very happy for you two. Now that we all know that Kikyo’s predicament had nothing to do with you, I know that you can make Kagome very happy. Sesshomaru does seem rather taken with her, though. He thinks that she settles you and gives you an aim in life. Look, I’ll come by the house later and see you.” He left and walked toward the mall.

Kagome smiled up at her new mate. “How about we go home now?”

Inu Yasha gave her a huge smile and agreed.

Once they arrived at his home, Inu Yasha let go of the breath that he didn’t realize he’d been holding. Those three brothers gave him the creeps. To make it worse, they had followed him home, but, thankfully, drove by.

The couple walked into the house and was greeted by Inu Taisho.

“Howdy, chickens. Have a good hunt?”

Inu Yasha just rolled his eyes at his dad and gave a short laugh. He took Kagome’s hand and showed the older man the ring that they just bought.

“Hey, Kagome, why don’t you go show mom that ring real quick too.” Inu Yasha wanted a word alone with his dad really quick. Before Kagome could clear the room, Sesshomaru stepped in and took a seat across from the one that Inu Yasha was getting settled into.

“Good thing you’re here, Sesshomaru. I’ll only have to say this once. I now know that Naraku and his brothers had something to do with what happened to Kikyo. I’m sure that they now have something in mind for Kagome. If she happens to not be with me, I want everyone that we know to be watching out for her. Koga came up earlier while they were trying to mind fuck me. By the way, Sesshomaru, he said he would be by later today.”

Inu Taisho, deciding to ignore his younger son’s language, homed in on the possible threat that this could pose for his new daughter. He had always wanted a little girl but had been blessed with two boys.

Sesshomaru, on the other hand, was getting furious from the news that the three brothers might be messing with his half brother and threatening Inu Yasha’s new mate. They may get along by fighting, but they were still family and he had chosen his mate well. He was relieved that his friend had showed up and help. Those idiots only decided to pick on groups smaller than theirs.

Sesshomaru began to pull out his view of the new member of the family and examine it. What did he feel for her? She was attractive, yes, but she was untouchable to him. Maybe that was it-she was no longer in his reach.

He got up and left the room in his silent reverie.

Inu Yasha left the room next in search for his lovely fiancée. He found right where he knew she would be. His mother was leaning over enthusing over the ring and getting the full details of the matching wedding rings that had been picked out.

“Well, we need to go pick out your wedding dress. You two don’t want to wait too long. You never know when a pup could be on the way. Let’s see. You should have your ceremony outdoors. You would be absolutely gorgeous out in the garden with my roses, and in the spring, all the trees will be in bloom. Let me know if you need some help. I have been waiting for one of these to settle down. How long are you two going to wait before I have grandchildren to spoil?” His mom was excited and talking very animatedly. Her jovial and disconnected conversation was taken in stride by Kagome who was soaking up the attention as her due.

“Hey, Mom. Maybe we should worry about graduating college and getting the wedding done before we get to the children.” His eyes were reflecting his humor.

“Well, you should remember to use protection if you’re not ready for kids.” The couple blushed at her frankness because, no, they have not used any protection.

“I need to call my mom. Once I get that done, we can begin picking out dates and all. She will probably say that she wants a wedding ring on my finger before we move in together.” She grabbed her cell and called her mom.

The speculation that she just delivered worried Inu Yasha. They had just mated and he had NO intention of being separated right now.

He had restrained himself from growling or whining while she was talking. When she looked up, she shrugged at him and said that she was going to go up and lay down for a bit.

He emitted a growl before heading out to dojo to work off some of his irritation.

He wasn’t alone out there for long. Miroku stepped in; he had apparently been swimming.

“Hey, Yasha, what’s gotten into your shorts?”

A growl was his only response for a moment, then, “I am going to have more problems from Naraku and his brothers, Kagome just said something about not going ahead and moving in with each other. We now know for sure that it was Naraku, Onigumo and Muso who got a hold of Kikyo; they’re threatening Kagome now, too.”

“I did hear about you and Kagome mating. I’m happy for you two. Sango was over the moon. Talk to Kagome about the whole moving in together deal. If she was willing to accept your mark, she will want to be with you as well.”

Inu Yasha finished his routine before taking Miroku up on his advice. He walked through the kitchen, saying hello to Sango who was sitting at the bar with his mom talking about the upcoming wedding. He went directly to his room and saw Kagome curled up with a smile on her face in her sleep.

Inu Yasha took off his clothes and walked into his bathroom to wash up a little. When he came out, he got onto the bed and brought her to his chest. He began to lick her face and kiss her.

She moaned and slowly opened her eyes. She smiled at him and decided to go ahead and tell him what her mom had said.

“Mom was over the moon that we had mated. She wants us to get married as soon as possible, though. Is that okay? We can go ahead and move in together. I told her that that was what I wanted to do. She wasn’t thrilled that we would be living together before the wedding ceremony, but we are already married in demon terms.

“Great. Let’s give her what she wants. Let’s get married ASAP. If we have it here, that would make my mom very happy and cut down on some of the work because ceremony and reception would be outside or the dojo or whatever. How long do you think will be needed to get the rest of the arrangements taken care of?”

As Kagome began to speculate, Inu Yasha wanted to be distracting.

He began to shift her shirt up slowly and kiss her belly. His kisses trailed downward until they were met with the top of her jeans that he tried to push down as far as he could.

His growls of frustration at the barriers made it harder for Kagome to hold back the giggles from knowing exactly what he was after. She shifted provocatively in way that would make taking her shirt off easier but make it harder for her pants.

Inu Yasha took advantage of her position to get her shirt but decided that he would move her himself to get the jeans along with the panties off. She had thankfully removed her shoes and socks already.

That bra just had to go, though. He used a claw and shredded it into several colorful pieces.

He silenced her protest at the treatment of her clothes by kissing her deeply as he removed the towel he had on.

Inu Yasha had an epiphany; he jumped up and locked his door before anybody came looking for them. He came back to the bed in record time and jumped on top of his prey.

He took her fiercely and quickly. She relished the roughness that gave away the neediness that he was feeling.

The growls could be heard downstairs, even in that big house, and the gasps were masked by them. There was no secret about what was happening.

Inu Yasha just knew he was in for it when they left the room.
