Chapter Eleven

"You two cannot be allowed to roam around in the Makai, it is too dangerous." Koenma informed them. "I am going to place you two somewhere you can be watched over. I won't have the jewel fall in Naraku's hands again."

"I don't think so, I'm not going anywhere until I've killed him." Kagome informed him. She'd see him pay everything he did.

"That goes for two of us." Killany had only met him once but she'd shared Kagome's memories and feelings. That bastard deserved to die more than that elder did.

"I think you both know that seperate you are no match for him."

"I don't care, I'll kill him or die trying." Kagome fisted her hands at her side. "There's no way I'm going to let him live."

"I second that." Killany chirped in.

"I will see to him when the time comes." Koenma reassured him.

"Eat my ass binky boy, you've had five hundred years to see to him. You snooze you lose." Kagome scowled at him. He hadn't done anything yet, "Obviously, if you could handle it you would have done it already."

"Wow Kags, you are kind of sexy when you talk like that."

"You can eat me too." Kagome turned around and grinned at her.

"Offering something besides your ass I take it."

"You pervert." She blushed at the comment, the chuckle behind her didn't help. "Fine, I'll give you time to take care of him but take too long and we will go after him ourselves."

"Very well. Come lets get you out of here. By the way you two are under probation for the time being and house arrest."

"WHAT!"

Kagome got up and ran across the yard when she saw her mother appear over the steps. Tears streamed down her face as the arms wrapped around her. "Momma." She heard Souta before she felt him wrap his arms around her waist.

"Sis, you're alive."

"Of course she is, I've been saying it all along." Grandpa came up with Kurama and Yusuke. "Though I'm not sure if I like you surrounding yourself with these youkai. It's not natural."

"Uh, Gramps." Her eye twitched when she saw the looks he was getting.

"I should have brought some of my wards, keep you safe while you sleep." He turned around and looked at Kurama. "Specially that one, something is not right about him I tell ya."

Killany watched from her perch on the roof, the scene was touching. Her eyes looked over at Yukina real quick who was speaking to some tall woman. The only family she had left but she couldn't bring herself to tell the girl. It would open up questions and new pain for the small girl. She couldn't bring herself to tell the girl that her father had just died. Better not to say anything.

"Why don't you introduce us to some of your friend's Kagome?" Mrs. Higurashi asked. She wanted to know some of the people her daughter was going to be staying with.

"Well, I only just met most of them." She waved Yukina and Shizuru over. "This is Yukina and Shizuru, Yukina will be staying here also."

"Wow, she's pretty." Souta commented, his teenage hormones kicking in.

"Shut up twerp." Kagome smiled at the ice youkai, "Sorry little brothers, what can I say."

"That's okay, I understand. Brothers are great." She said.

"Oh, how many siblings do you have?" Mrs. Higurashi asked.

"I have a twin brother."

"Oh, is he here? I'd like to meet him." Her mother smiled.

"Actually no, I'm trying to find him but I have a good idea who he is though."

"Thats wonderful, I hope you find him."

Kurama cleared his throat knowing that some damage had already been done. He saw the stares Kagome and Killany had sent the girl's way at the announcement. "I don't think we've been introduced properly. Since we will be the ones protecting Kagome it is only fitting. I am Kurama and this is Yusuke."

"Pleasure to meet you both." Mrs. Higurashi extended her hand taking his. "Nice grip I like that."

"Hey what kind of youkai are you? You look human." Souta asked the red head.

"Fox actually." He smiled down at the young boy. Hopefully, the topic wouldn't swap back to siblings. He sensed Hiei's worry coming from the tree he was perched in.

"Wow, can you actually turn into one?" Souta asked becoming excited at Kurama's nod. "Cool can I see?"

"I don't see why not." He changed to appease the boy.

Kagome watched the man change into a silver fox to stand next to her brother's legs. 'What a show off. Now, I'll never hear the end of it.' She sighed when her brother started going bolistic. Killany's voice broke through her thoughts.

"That's pathetic, see Kagome I told you size mattered." She chuckled at the shocked looks. "Centuries old and you aren't now bigger than that?"

"How big are you? Let me see?"

"Big enough to fit that fox in my mouth." She smiled at the boy, why the hell not. She hadn't changed in years, her father having forbid it. At times she thought him angry for taking almost completely after her mother. Mostly inu with only a few fire traits."Alright." She hopped off the roof.

"Don't freak Gramps." Kagome gave the warning seconds before she saw that girl's eyes slant and her face change. She'd never thought to see something like that again. Her mother's scream filled the air when a large dog appeared in the yard.

"Wow, is she potty trained?." Yusuke asked.

Killany was big to look at but nothing compared to what Sesshoumaru had been. Kagome walked up to her and smiled, "Nice, you're still a puppy. Damn you could fit him in your mouth."

Youko ran up to the girl and bit her paw, she jumped back. Kagome started laughing, "That was low. See sometimes it's better to be small."

Killany stomped at the fox with her paw, a screech was heard when her teeth caught the edge of his tail. He scratched her muzzle and ran behind her. She turned around, teeth showing.

"Get him." Souta chanted. The fox ran across the yard heading towards the woods, she sprinted after him.

Hiei watched them run off, his eyes narrowed. What game did the fox think he was playing at? His attention was diverted when he heard Kagome calling his name. She was waving him over to her. What did she want?

Kagome waited for him to come to her, "This is Hiei, one of the guys that will be here also."

"He's just a little guy. What can he do?" Gramps asked.

Kagome expected the youkai to get angry but she looked over at him. His eyes were looking towards the woods were the other two had gone. She had to call his name twice to get his attention, she sighed.
