Chapter Nine

They took shelter in a village, Miroku having known the village elder, no fake services had been needed. They were all put up into a single room which proved to be crowded but atleast they were out of the rain. Sango and Miroku were already fast asleep while the others sat in complete silence. Each lost in their own thoughts. Michiko was begining to worry but held it in check, her mother was already walking on a tight string. She had to be strong for both of them. Deep down she did believe her sister was alive, she felt it in her heart.

Kagome stood up and walked outside, shoulders slumped in sadness. Inuyasha watched her walk away debating if he should go out and comfort her. Some clearing their throat caused him to look around and he saw Kagome's daughter staring at him. He was about to ask her what she wanted when she nodded her head as if reading his mind. "Hmph," he stood up and walked outside.

She was standing a few feet from the door staring up at the sky. She'd felt him when he'd stepped out, "I'd always imagined what would happen if I saw you again. All these years, I believed you'd end up with Kikyo and seems I was wrong. Do you hate me Inuyasha, for moving on and having a family?"

"I could never hate you, Kagome," he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm sorry we were reunited under these circumstances. We will find your daughter, I swear to you."

"Thank you, they are my life. I use to dream of having your children, I never thought I'd have them by any other than you. But things didn't work out that way and I'm sorry, I don't regret it."

"I don't want you to regret it Kagome. It was my fault you left, I pushed you away."

Kagome spun around, "Inuyasha, are you feeling ok?" She reached her hand up to check his tempature.

"Don't do that," he snapped and swatted her hand away. "Seventeen years is a long time to think. I know I'm mostly to blame but then again it was your fault also for not asking me what I wanted."

"Guess you're right," she grabbed his hand. "We will be fine now that you are here, thats if you don't mind protecting me once again."

"Sure you need my protection? Could just ask your kid in there," he rubbed his jaw that was still slightly red. "What the hell have you been teaching them girls?"

"They took a few classes is all, heh and you did ask for it. That'll teach you to call me names," she smiled at him. A gasp escaped her mouth as he raised his hand and cupped her cheek. His thumb slid across her lower lip, she ran her tongue after it. A groan escaped him before he lowered his head and claimed her lips.

Kagome closed her eyes and threw her arms around his neck pulling him closer. She felt his tongue probing her lips and she opened to give him access to her mouth. Tongues collided, gliding against each other, feelings left checked for almost two decades was released in that single kiss. He wrapped his arms around her tiny waist and brought her closer. Laughter caused the two to break apart.

Michiko had watched the hanyou walk out after her mother, for a minute she'd been afraid that she'd have to throw her shoe at him to give him the hint. He wasn't as stupid as he looked. She stretched down on her blanket and tried closing her eyes but felt someone watching her. She looked into the green eyes of Shippo, "What?"

"Sorry," he blushed at being caught staring.

She laughed when the fox blushed, "Don't worry about it, I'm use to it."

Her mother stepped back inside but she wasn't alone. In fact she was attached to the hanyou by the hand. Michiko smiled inside knowing that her mother was on her way to being happy. Now all the had to do was find her sister, that was silly enough to get herself carried away.

Several miles away Sesshomaru was having a meeting with one of his spies. It was one of his best spies, a cowardly flea, by the name of Myouga. After him and Inuyasha had their so called reconsilation, the flea had offered his services to the Lord of the Western Lands. He had decided the best work for the little flea would be to collect information when he needed it. As usual, he didn't disappoint. "Tell me, what have you found out."

"Yes, Lord Sesshomaru, the demon's name is, Kuroyama. He seems to be of the dragon class, my lord. A very powerful enemy indeed. If rumors are true, his true stature is as great as your late fathers." (AN: if you can all recall how huge their father was suppose to be in his true form)

"Very well, come we are off to find Inuyasha," Sesshomaru turned and headed towards the direction his brother had taken.

Please read and review.. Sorry the chapter was short, its way past my bed time.
