Dreams Can Be Real

Kagome found herself walking around a clearing. She had never seen a place so pretty and peaceful. There were flowers everywhere and she spied a hot spring at the edge of the clearing. You could hear birds singing and a small river
made up the other side of the clearing. Someone had set up a small camp in the center of the clearing. Kagome walked toward the camp. There was no sign of anyone around. "Hello is anyone here?" No answer. So she walked toward the
first tent and found it majestically arranged but no one was there. She went to the second and it was as pretty as the first. But still no one was around. She left the tent and walked around the clearing. They must be around somewhere. You don't
leave such fancy tents around especially when they contained a small fortune in furs and furniture and such. They had obviously went to a great degree of trouble just to get the beds here not to mention the rest of the stuff. So why wasn't
anyone around. It was very weird. Kagome went and sat by the stream. She would just wait for them to return. She was almost asleep when she felt a presence around her. She turned and saw a beautiful lady approaching her.
"Hello. Is this your camp?" Kagome watched the lady shake her head no and continue to get closer to her.

"No it is yours." The lady sat down beside Kagome and raised her kimono up a little so she could put her feet into the stream.

Kagome looked at the lady. "This is not my camp. I just came upon it while I was walking through the forest."

"What I meant my dear is that it was made for you." The lady waved her hand around the clearing. "This whole place was made for you."

Kagome knew her mouth had dropped open but could do nothing about it. She tried to take in what the lady was saying. "Why would it be made for me."

"You need to rest for a couple of days so your body can adjust to the changes taking place and I thought this place would suit your needs. By the way my name is Haniyasu-hime." She turned to watch the girls reaction to her name.
Surprisingly there wasn't any.

"Do you mind if I call you Hani? It would be easier to say," Kagome smiled at the goddess beside her.

Hani laughed at the girl. "No that would be fine." This girl was quite unusual. No wonder the other gods and goddesses were in awe of her.

"But why is there two tents?" Kagome turned to look at the camp.

"You will be having a visitor very shortly. He will stay with you until you awaken. He will be able to teach you much about your new life." Hani watched the girl soak up the information she just received.

"Do I know my camp mate?" She turned to look at the river.

"You have met him a few time. I will stay with you until he arrives. That way I can make sure nothing happens to you."

"But if I am sleeping how can something happen to me?" Kagome turned to Hani curiosity written on her face.

Hani leaned over to the girl. "My dear sometimes dreams can be all too real."

Kagome nodded her head in understanding. She followed Hani's solution and placed her feet in the stream. "It is so nice here."

"I hope you continue to think that because your camp mate is on his way. He should be here anytime." Hani took her feet out of the water and straightened her kimono and watched as Kagome did the same. The stood together to face whoever was coming.

Kagome gasped when she saw Sesshoumaru enter the clearing. She never would have expected that. She watched as he took in the sights and sounds of the clearing. She stopped breathing when his eyes fell on her and Hani. He didn't
look to happy about being here. Kagome finally remembered to breath again and watched him as he walked across the clearing to her.

Sesshoumaru found himself in a forest and started walking for some reason his cloud would not respond. He stopped and took in the scents around him. Hoping they would give him a clue as to where he was at. Nothing smelled right. He stopped when the scent of jasmine and honey caught his attention. He knew that smell. If the miko was close that meant his brother was also near. But he couldn't pick up his scent. He reached down to draw Toukijin but it and Tensaiga
were both missing from his side. He never went anywhere without his swords. He would just find the miko. For some reason he was sure that she had the answers to the questions quickly coming to mind. He followed the scent until he
came to a clearing. He looked around and saw the camp and still didn't see the miko. He moved further into the clearing and stopped. He saw the miko by the stream but she was not alone. A lady stood by her side. His eyes flew back to the miko. The lady almost forgotten. She had changed a lot since their last meeting. Her black and silver tail was wrapped around her body similarly like his. Her ears were now pointed like his and she seemed to have grown a couple of inches. Her magenta marking on her face marked her as a very dangerous inu youkai. He didn't recall ever seeing a inu youkai with magenta stripes. She now matched the women of his dream. All that was missing was the blue crescent on her forehead. So much for him denying that the women in his dream was someone else for the female standing before him was definitely her and there was no doubt that she was his brothers miko. He walked up to the women. "What spell did you cast miko to bring me here? And what did you do with my weapons?"

"My Lord Sesshoumaru before you say another word that you might regret let me introduce myself." Hani watched his golden amber eyes turn toward her as if noticing her for the first time. At this she smiled. "I am Haniyasu-hime and if you
like you may simply call me Hani like Kagome has chose to do."

Sesshoumaru listened to the lady. For her voice held a note of authority to it. When he heard her say her name he bowed to her. Not understanding why she was here. Sesshoumaru knew better than to anger a goddess. "My lady it is nice to meet you."

"Well it is nice to see that you do contain some manners. Now will you join us for a spell and I will try to answer any questions you may have." Hani took Kagomes hand and pulled her back down to the bank of the stream. After they were seated she patted the ground beside her telling the lord where he was to sit.

Sesshoumaru sat down beside Hani and kept a careful eye on her and the miko. He still didn't trust her believing that it was her fault he was here. "My Lady would you kindly explain to me why I am here."

"You are here for a two reasons. One is to take care of Kagome and teach her what she will need to know like how to control her youkai, how to hunt, and how to use her poisons and how to fight using just weapons that are available at hand.
Second it is because it is time to court your future mate." Hani smiled at the look on the lords face.

"Why is everyone trying to get me to mate with this miko? Has everyone lost their mind?" Sesshoumaru jumped up and stalked away from the women.

Hani waved her hand and dragged Sesshoumaru back to her side. "My Lord Sesshoumaru you will not stalk off like that again."

Sesshoumaru growled lightly at Hani but he sat back down beside her. "I will teach the miko what you require but I will not court her."

"Sesshoumaru you are really trying my patience. You will be stuck here with this girl until I release you. Your fate is written and the girl will be your mate. Have no doubt about it. Now resign yourself to your fate." Hani could feel the anger coming from the lord. He was not happy. "In the time that you two are here you will not harm the girl in anyway. She is under my protection and I would frown on something happening to her. Do you understand?"

He growled again "Yes I understand." He had to close his eyes to control his youki. He could feel and smell the miko near and was trying to take over.

Kagome rose from her spot and walked over to Sesshoumaru and placed her hand on his shoulder. She felt him jump at her touch. "Don't worry I promise to be a good student." She watched as he turned his head toward her and finally
opened his eyes. They were tinted a light red but as they stared into each others eyes the red soon faded from his.

"Miko I will teach you what you need to know. I may not like it but none the less I will still do it. Just don't try my patience too much. My youkai would take any opportunity to make you our mate so stand on your guard." Sesshoumaru turned away from her to stare into space. "And don't touch me with out my permission again."

Hani took her hand and pulled her up. "Walk with me my dear." When there was a little distance between them and Sesshoumaru she spoke again. "You must have patience my dear. It will take that and probably a lot more to get him to
come around. He has had a difficult life and was shown very little love. It will be harder for him to open up because of it."

Kagome looked up at Hani and back to Sesshoumaru. "Thank you Hani for everything."

Hani nodded and disappeared.
