Chapter 11: Inuyasha’s dream and Sesshomaru’s musings

~*Inuyasha’s dream*~
Inuyasha giggled as he ran around the halls of the castle. His older brother, Sesshomaru, was chasing him. He had gotten bored and decided to smear some of his mother’s lipstick all over his brother’s face while he had been sleeping. He laughed as he ran thinking about Sesshomaru’s face when he had seen himself in the mirror. He had just stared blankly for a moment into the mirror before his eyes started to seep red into them. Inuyasha had screamed and ran giggling out of the room from underneath Sesshomaru’s bed and was now on the run from a crazed and royally pissed of Demon Prince.
When Sesshomaru finally caught up with him he screamed and struggled from the demon’s grip.
“AAAAAH no let me go!!!! I’m sorry I’m sorry! I won’t do it again! I PROMISE!” He shrieked as Sesshomaru glared at him through blood red eyes. He giggled suddenly and jumped up onto Sesshomaru’s shoulders for a forced piggyback ride. But only succeeded in stepping on his half-brother’s face and leaving a red footmark in its place.
Inuyasha sweat dropped and jumped quickly to the floor and backed slowly up against the wall hoping, by some miracle, that he would blend in with the marble there. Sesshomaru started twitching and Inuyasha suspected him to turn around and punch a hole through his head. But to his great surprise, Sesshomaru’s shoulders relaxed and he let out a sigh. He just shook his head and turned to walk back to his room. Inuyasha blinked in confusion.
“Sesshomaru?” he asked timidly.
The older demon turned his head back and flashed a rare smile. Inuyasha’s heart skipped a beat. Had his brother just ……smiled at him? He shook his head and took off after his brother.
“Wait, Oni-chan! Your…Your not mad at me?” he asked. Sesshomaru stopped where he was and turned around to face his little half-brother.
“You may be an annoying twerp. And I may hate your mother more than anything in the land” he scoffed without any emotion showing in his face.
“But you are relentless in your jokes and games. If I were to stay mad at you every time you did something such as this, I would explode. And besides, since our father is so busy and your mother is always with him. There is no one to look after you.” He said with a pained expression.
Inuyasha gazed up at Sesshomaru. This was majorly out of character for his older brother. Since when did Sesshomaru actually care. Or if he did care, since when did he actually show it…! Inuyasha was confused.
“Oni-chan…why…why does this bother you…? It has never been the case before.” He wanted to clear things up and find out what was going on, and he was not going to leave him alone until he found out what was wrong with his Oni-chan.
“You know very well that father was always busy, even when I was a child. I had very few to talk to or care for me and I don’t want to see someone else turn into myself. Even if the person I am protecting is born from someone that I loath. I’ll admit that I wish that I could have been as carefree as you yourself are.” He sighed a defeated sigh and look up at the ceiling.
Inuyasha continued to gaze at his brother. Had that just happened? He thought about pinching his arm but decided against it.
He watched his brother stand up and just watched him as he walked back to his room.
~*End dream*~
~*Sesshomaru*~
Sesshomaru looked down at his brother who was now lying down on his old bed. He was sleeping soundly and Sesshomaru thought that for a second he had actually seen an all too familiar smile. He sat in a chair next to the bed and thought deeply about why he had brought Inuyasha, his greatest rival back to his castle. As he looked at his younger brother, he began to feel a bit nostalgic. He smiled softly to himself as he admired the innocent smile on the Hanyou’s face.
He sighed and stood up and turned towards the door. He would get some food for when the boy wok. He. He wanted Inuyasha to know that he meant no harm. As he opened the door he heard a soft whisper from Inuyasha.
“Oni….chan…..don’t leave me….alone…”
Sesshomaru stopped and looked at the wall across the hallway with wide eyes. Had he just…said that he didn’t want him to leave? He shook his head and walked down the hallway towards the kitchen.
~*Koga*~
Koga stopped when he reached the castle that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha had entered. He looked up in awe. It was so big. ‘How can one person live in a place this big?’ He thought to himself as he looked around the entrance. He stopped at a small entrance in the gate around the castle and he slipped through. He wasn’t sure how he was going to get in without being caught so he decided that if he wanted to find out what was going on. He would just have to ask. He wasn’t sure why he wanted to know what was going on but for some unknown reason, he felt compelled to find out.
He made his way up to the front door and knocked. He stood there and admired the flowers that were growing near the door. They were very well taken care of and quite beautiful.
“Beautiful…” he said softly to himself. He looked up in surprise as the door opened and a young human woman opened the door. She was wearing a kimono and had her hair up in a fancy way. He wondered if this woman as related to Inuyasha and couldn’t help but sniff her curiously.
When he heard the woman gasp in surprise he stopped and put on a sheepish grin.
“Ehehe. Sorry ma’am. I guess I forgot my manners. I’m Koga. I wish to speak with Lord Sesshomaru.” He said with a smile on his face.
The woman chuckled softly.
“Right this way. I’ll take your to see my master Sesshomaru. Follow me.” She giggled slightly and led him inside. She led him to the kitchen where Sesshomaru was cooking (yes people….cooking………….) and Koga couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.
“Sesshomaru? Cooking? That’s yet another big surprise.” He practically snorted as he tried to hold back his laughter
Sesshomaru glared at him.
“What are you doing here wolf?” he asked with distaste in his voice. Koga could see that Sesshomaru had not liked being caught in this type of situation and grinned some more. This was all too amusing. He shook his head when he remembered why he was there.
“Sesshomaru. I would like to ask you what you are doing with Inuyasha. Have you finally set aside your differences? Or are you just taking pity on the unfortunate situation that he was caught up in?” he asked seriously.
He watched as Sesshomaru’s brow furrowed in thought. He realized then that Sesshomaru didn’t even know himself why he had taken Inuyasha to his home. He smiled. It was probably brotherly instinct to protect his younger brother when he was in a time of need.
“If you don’t mind, I would like to see him.” He said hoping to provide an escape for Sesshomaru, from the question. He didn’t want to frustrate the demon lord.
Sesshomaru looked up and his face straightened back to it’s emotionless self.
~*Sesshomaru*~
Sesshomaru glared at the wolf demon but nodded his head anyway. What the hell did this demon want with his Inuyasha? He growled in response but turned to lead Koga to him. They walked slowly and quietly through the halls, up flights of stairs, and around numerous corners. Finally he stopped at a large door and turned around to face Koga.
“He is sleeping right now, if you dare to disturb or hurt him in any way I will make sure that you never set foot near him again. Do you understand me?” he asked with a calm, but demanding voice.
Koga nodded his head and waited for Sesshomaru to let him pass. Sesshomaru let him by and waited by the open door as Koga walked towards Inuyasha’s side.
~*Inuyasha*~
Inuyasha opened his eyes. He could hear two people talking outside of the door. He listened carefully.
“He is sleeping right now, if you dare to disturb him in any way I will make sure that you never set foot near him again. Do you understand me?” came Sesshomaru’s voice.
Inuyasha blinked. ‘What was that about I wonder?’ thought Inuyasha. He heard the door crack open and immediately closed his eyes. He barely squinted open his eyes. Just enough to make out the shape of …. ‘Koga??! What the fuck is he doing here’ He thought frantically. He closed his eyes fully again and waited tensely for them to approach him.
He listened as each step of Koga’s feet grew louder as he got closer to his bed. Inuyasha couldn’t take it anymore, he opened his eyes and looked over at Koga.
“What do you want wolf boy?” he asked with annoyance in his voice. He saw that his sudden awakened state shocked both of them and mentally chuckled to himself. He wasn’t sure why he had suddenly cheered up. But he decided not to complain.
He saw Koga stop and start to think. He didn’t know did he? HAH! How interesting. He must have seen Sesshomaru take me away and wanted to know what was going on.
Koga looked up at him curiously and hook his head.
“Honestly Inuyasha, I really don’t know why I came. I was unfortunate enough to run across the same situation that you yourself had seen and knew that you must have been devastated. I also wanted to know why Sesshomaru had taken you.
Inuyasha looked back at Sesshomaru questioningly. He wanted now now why Sesshomaru had taken him as well. But he wasn’t about to ask him.
Inuyasha yawned groggily and glared at the two.
“Sesshomaru, Koga, We can talk later. I’m tired.” Inuyasha grunted as he turned over in his bed and covered himself with the blanket.
He listened as Sesshomaru walked to Koga and escorted him from the room.
AN: Ok I know that that was way too short for such a long delay. But I’ve been really busy, depressed, sick and addicted to Zelda all in the last 2 weeks. I’m sorry. I also had lack of inspiration for a bit. But I came back and finished this chapter the bestouldould. I will try and get the next chappie out ASAP. But I can’t promise anything anymore. Lot’s of weird shit happening here. SO please stick around and I would like at least 10 or so more reviews cause I’m feeling lack of motivation here ;.; except for my number 1 fan who keeps in contact with me to encourage me ~hugs~ I love you!
