CHAPTER 11 - Marital 'Bliss'
~*~ Hey guys! It's been way too long since I last updated this fic, seven long years to be exact. I'm sorry for the hiatus, but I'm back now. And with a vengeance too! ^_^ I missed writing so much that I'm making up for lost time. I've already finished my other story (A Love That Transcends Time), and I'm planning to write another story alluding it. But don't worry, I'll probably finish 'Firebrand' first before I start on that.
And as a peace offering, I present you with two chapters update of this story, with the other chapter containing a whole lot of lemon. ^_^ I hope that's enough for me to be forgiven. And don't forget to review okay? Thanx for reading, love ya lots. Jaa ne! ^_^ ~*~

Chapter 11 - Marital 'Bliss'
They had their first marital spat moments after their wedding.
The king was toasting their marriage, together with the queen and the priest who officiated their marriage ceremony. Miroku was nowhere to be seen, having left at once after the wedding rites were finished. He understandably didn't want to linger after the scene during the ceremony. He wasn't allowed to say goodbye to the bride; what with Kagome anchored to Inuyasha's side, her husband's arm like steel bands around her shoulders. Even after Miroku was gone, he didn't relax his hold on her.
After the toast, the queen informed them of the sumptuous feast she had prepared in their honor.
"Even though your wedding didn't permit the usual celebrations, I still think Kagome should have at least a wedding dinner. Although it is just us,"
She gave the king a disgruntled look as she spoke, obviously insinuating it was his fault she couldn't invite anyone. King Sesshomaru only smilingly threw his arms around his wife, obviously in too good a mood for anyone to ruin it. Kagome thought dinner was a perfect idea: it would delay the time she had to be alone with her husband. She was just about to express her whole-hearted agreement when her arrogant husband beat her to it.
"Thank you for your thoughtfulness, but I'm afraid we must decline, Your Majesty. I have plans of taking my bride home to Windshire Castle right away,"
No one was more dismayed--or shocked, for that matter-- by his statement than Kagome.
'He's taking me to his home? And he owns a castle? Oh God, oh God,'
Kagome thought to herself, an image of some castle's dungeon flashing through her mind.
She forced herself to smile as she tried to shrug her husband's arm away from her shoulders to catch his attention. Inuyasha was having none of that. He tightened his already unescapable hold on her until you'd think they were siamese twins. Outraged, Kagome gritted her teeth and rammed her elbow into her husband's midsection, praying the royal couple didn't notice. And how she hoped her husband dies of the choking fit she was sure she'd given him.
But she was wrong on both accounts.
The royal couple DID notice, and the queen didn't know if should be apalled or thrilled at the newlywed's antics. The king didn't suffer the same indecision, chuckling his approval of what he was seeing. It was now the queen's turn to ram her elbow into her husband's midsection to remind him of his manners.
And Inuyasha didn't choke even once. It seemed to Kagome it was her elbow who suffered more after that contact. Both him and the king were now exchanging what could only be called 'knowing' grins. Kagome decided to change tactics.
"My lord,"
She said to her husband ever so sweetly.
"Yes, wife?"
'Wife. God, I really did up and married her,'
Inuyasha thought to hisself, unsure of what his feelings were at the moment. But it had a nice ring to it, that 'wife' word did.
"I would dearly love to partake of the feast Her Majesty has graciously prepared for us. I find my appetite has returned,"
Kagome interjected smoothly, hoping the queen would second her. She wasn't disappointed.
"Splendid, splendid! I knew you'd like my idea the moment I thought of it. Come now, let us move into the dining room,"
As Queen Elizabeth Rin stepped forward to usher them into the right direction, she was suddenly hauled right back up to the king's side. Perplexed, she looked up at her husband to find him shaking his head at her.
"Nay, my love. The duke and duchess won't be joining us for dinner,"
King Sesshomaru emphatically told his wife.
"But--but--"
The king gave the queen a stern look and an even sterner voice as he commanded:
"No more buts from you, My Lady. It's about time they were left alone. It IS their wedding day, or have you forgotten?"
The queen could only sputter. The king faced the newly wedded couple now.
"You may take your leave. Inuyasha, I trust you will take the utmost care of Kagome,"
It was an order, not a request. The duke bowed to his king in answer. The king surprised them then by clasping Kagome's hands in his.
"I hope you are not too upset with me bacause of this. It is my hope you would change your mind and thank me one day,"
