A slave's story

A/N – It’s been a while, I know, and I’m sorry………..see, my life has been really hectic…relatives came in from out of state all of a sudden…they called and said they were on their way one day a couple of weeks ago…so after that, I had to get ready for classes……so, I apologize that it has been so long, but….here, without further ado, is the next chapter. After Kagome fell asleep, Inuyasha lay Kagome down on the bed and he covered her with the blanket. He gave her sleeping form one last look before he walked out of the room, soundlessly closing the door behind him as he left.

Immediately Inuyasha went off to find the others. You see, Miroku and Inuyasha had found Sango and Kirara injured and then Inuyasha sent Miroku off to find Kaede. Together they brought Sango and Kirara back to Inuyasha’s home. Inuyasha found Kaede outside of the room that Sango slept in. Kaede was standing outside of the door to Sango’s room, talking to a very serious-looking Miroku. Inuyasha walked up. “Oi, how’s Sango?” Inuyasha asked gruffly as he walked up to the two. Kaede and Miroku both turned to face Inuyasha. “She is getting better….with some rest, she’ll get better.” Kaede answered. “Oi, Miroku, watch Sango for me.” Inuyasha said sternly to Miroku. Miroku nodded. “Oi, babaa, come with me. Kagome needs you.” Inuyasha said, turning abruptly and walking towards Kagome’s room.

“Inuyasha!”

Inuyasha turned upon hearing Miroku call his name, looking at him to show he was listening, silently permitting him to continue.

“How is Kagome-sama?” he asked.

Inuyasha let out a little growl. “Not good.” He said. He turned and continued walking to Kagome’s room. Miroku and Kaede exchanged glances of worry and then Kaede followed Inuyasha to Kagome’s room. “She’s asleep. Can you sleep in the room next door so that I can call you if I need help?” Inuyasha asked. He knew it was late at night, but he was hoping for her help. Kaede nodded. “Aye, I will check on the child in the morning. Good night, Inuyasha.” Kaede said. “’Night, babaa.” Inuyasha said stiffly. He watched Kaede walk into the bedroom that he had mentioned and close the door behind her, then turned and walked into Kagome’s room. As he predicted, she was tossing and turning in her sleep. He walked over next to her, she was now making little sounds of fright. He gathered her in his arms and lay down next to her in the bed, wrapping his arms around her tiny frame. Immediately her tiny frame snuggled against his and began to relax. In her sleep, she gave a contented sigh. “I’m sorry, Kagome……….I should have protected you…….” Inuyasha whispered to the sleeping form. Kagome, however, did not respond.

Sleep came much later to the hanyou.

The next morning, Inuyasha woke to the sounds of people moving around. Kagome was waking, and he waited with her until she woke. At first she tensed, upon feeling someone so close to her, then she turned to see who it was, and began to calm a little when she saw that it was Inuyasha. “Are you okay? Do you need anything? Are you hungry?” he asked quickly. He didn’t mean to ask the questions so rapidly, but he was worried about the girl. Kagome shook her head.

“Kaede is here. She’s coming in to check on you. I’ll be right back.” With that, Inuyasha left the room, going to find Kaede. She had gone to check on Sango.

“So she is awake then?” Kaede said when she spotted Inuyasha. Inuyasha just nodded at her. “Let’s go then.” She said. Inuyasha turned and walked toward Kagome’s room. Sango was well enough to walk around, and she followed Kaede. She wanted to offer any help needed and she also worried about Kagome.

When they entered the room, Kagome was huddled in the corner of the bed. Inuyasha walked over to her and spoke to her gently. “Sango came to see you, and Kaede, too. You remember Kaede, don’t you?” Kagome looked from Sango to Kaede and nodded. Inuyasha noticed that she had not calmed herself at all.

Kaede closed the door behind her and smiled lightly at the girl. “How are ye, child?” Kagome made no response, she still looked like a rabbit caught in a trap. Sango walked over to Kagome. She pulled Kagome towards her and hugged her tightly. “I’m so sorry, Kagome..” she said gently. Kagome began to calm a little. Kaede turned her gaze to Inuyasha. “Now, Inuyasha, leave. We’ll call you if we need you.” “No. I’m staying right here with her.” “Inuyasha…” Sango warned. “I am not leaving.” Inuyasha growled. “Fine. But if she says ‘leave’, you leave, got that?” Sango demanded. “Keh.” Was the only response she got.

Kaede and Sango together took off Inuyasha’s haiori. Kaede noted and cared for the whip marks on her back. It took some coaxing from Sango and she couldn’t help jumping or crying out in pain when a tender area was touched. Inuyasha couldn’t take seeing her in pain. He walked towards her to comfort her and she, out of instinct, grabbed him and pulled her toward him. She buried her face in his chest, her whole body tense and shaking with fear and pain. Kaede took care of her wrists that had been cut and bruised from the chains. She noticed handprints on her body from being held down forcefully. Then came the part Kaede dreaded.

“Almost done, child…….I’m sorry, but I have to check you…….” Kaede soothed.

“Why?” Inuyasha demanded angrily. “I have to see if she is hurt, Inuyasha.” Kaede soothed. “Just don’t hurt her.” He warned with a growl.

Kagome tensed and grabbed Inuyasha harder, trying subtly to move away from Kaede. Her pleas were just barely audible…”No…no….no..”

Sango gripped her hand. “Hey, I’m right here.” Kagome peeked at her from Inuyasha’s haiori and looked at Sango’s reassuring face and gripped her hand hard. “Inuyasha, you’ll have to help hold her still.” Kaede said trying to say it quietly. The way Kagome tensed, he knew she’d heard. Kagome’s body was unbelievably tense. When Kaede had just barely touched her vaginal area, she jumped violently and started to shake and sob. Inuyasha rocked her and tried to hold her hips down with her hand. She was starting to panic and struggle, but Inuyasha held her still. She jumped when Kaede parted the labia. She prodded her finger in gently, but Kagome jumped again and let out a cry of pain. Suddenly, Kaede was done. “I’m done, child.” Kaede said gently. Kagome pulled herself as far away from Kaede as she could, trying to get out of Inuyasha’s arms. He let her go. Sango climbed on the bed and hugged Kagome. She flinched a little, and Sango eased her onto the bed into a comfortable position. She then began telling Kagome a story from her village, and Kagome fell asleep. As Sango told the story, Kaede beckoned Inuyasha into the hall. “So?” Inuyasha said. “She has lost weight. She looked well and was gaining weight when I last saw her. She has lost weight again. She was abused, but she was not, however, raped. Take good care of her, Inuyasha.” Inuyasha nodded. “I’ll check on her again later. Until then, try and get her to eat something.” Kaede said, walking back into the room she had slept in the night before. Inuyasha sighed. Back to square one.
