DISGUST ME?

They stood there for a couple seconds longer. Sesshomaru noticed that Auko was taking in deep breaths, refreshing herself with nature.

“I’m afraid I have to return to my work. If you follow that path it will take you the West garden. I believe Rin and your demon, Tork are there. I presume you will be joining us for dinner tonight.”

“Hai, thank you Lord Sesshomaru.” With that the demon left to attend to business matters.

When Auko saw that he was gone, she started down the path to the West garden. After rounding a sharp corner around the building, she could see the small child and her faithful companion, Tork.

The wolf demon, upon smelling the scent of his master, stopped playing with Rin. He looked to his left and saw the figure walking towards them. Rin looked in the direction the dog was looking to also see her. Tork then fled, dashing towards Auko. She stood still, ready for his welcome.

He ended up head butting her in the stomach. Tork then leaped onto his back feet, putting his front paws on her shoulders. He licked her face and hands as she petted him, laughing from the tickling feeling his licks gave. Rin ran over to the two.

Auko was finally able to push the large demon off of her. “Hello Rin,” she greeted.

“Greetings Auko. How are you feeling today?” Rin chimed.

“I’m doing very well, thank you. I see you have been keeping my pet company for me. I thank you for that.”

“Would you like to play with us?!”

”I’d love to.” Rin and Tork ran ahead, while Auko walked, not quite up to running yet.

Sesshomaru sat in the oak chiar in study. He had known Rin was in the West garden with Tork because he could see that area clearly from where he worked. He saw Auko join the two at the small pond. His thoughts momentarily left his work.

Why did this human not disgust him like others? It had to been partly because she owned something of great value that could possibly become useful for him. But there was something else to her that did not push him away like others. Was it her smell? Her scent still gave off the fact that she was human, but it smelled of the air and nature. It had been easy for him to tell that she spent most of her time outdoors. But maybe it was her personality? No, he’d never been big on personality, not even for himself.

So then what was it? His body certainly knew, but is mind did not. All he did know was that he did not want her to leave until he had figured it out.

Tearing his gaze from the window he returned to his work.
