Boldly Going Nowhere

Disclaimer: I don't own the Inu Characters. I'm just
borrowing them to torture them. The only characters I own are Tai, Ni, Ko, Ku,
Will, Lez, Max, and Kura. Also two new characters make their appearance in this
story that I own, Loki, and Sakura. Also three more Youkai make their
appearance known to Kagome. Could one of these youkai be her lost lover? Read
and find out. Also to wrap up the disclaimer, I don't own crap except for my 4
rabbits, my dog Hershey, and my horse Midget. Hell I don't even own my caIt'sIt's my grandpa's.

Chapter summary: Kay um Kagome arrives at His home. Learn
about what happened to Inu Yasha and watch a Jaken beating. (I hate that little
toad) Also I am sorry that you two told me not to make this into a Kag/Sess.
Also at the end of this you will know who He is and I will have an entire list
of references to this mysterious person. Also next chappi will be the lemon. My

Chapter 11

Her Lover Revealed And Inu Yasha's Story

A.K.A Kagome Meet The Twins

~*~*~*~

After a few hours or driving through rush hour traffic in
Tokyo they had ended up out in the country on a mountainside near Kofu. Shippou
stopped the car and reached out to shake her awake. Yawning and stretching she
looked up at the mountain and noticed a beautiful mountainside estate lit up by
the setting sun. Only one word could describe the scene, Heaven. Shippou smiled
as he started his car back up and drove through the regal old gates.
Immediately the Mansion like estate took on a different look. Instead of a
normal mansion it was replaced with a massive Japanese Castle that was easily
larger then that of the emperors castle. Shippou glanced over at the stunned
look on her face. "Kagome breath that back there was only and illusion so
that it would fit into today’s era. If you take another road back there you end
up at the Ski Resort run by some of Kouga's pack. At night they have discounts
for Youkai, and tend to cater toward them." Kagome nodded stiffly she
still couldn't express her feelings in words. Shippou smiled as he glanced over
at her once again she looked just about ready to pass out.

Pulling up to the door Shippou got out and a doorman open
the door for Kagome. Thanking the man Kagome followed Shippou up the low wide
steps she stopped and looked around the grounds were immaculate except around
the many massive cherry, and magnolia trees that were growing. Their leaves
gently carpeted the ground. Behind the
cherry orchard a beautiful Koi pond filled with the large colorful fish
glistened in the evening light.

Turning back toward the castle she noticed a large pagoda
rising above the roof in the back. Her eyes traveled down toward the door
drinking in all of the detail. At the top of the massive mahogany doorframe stood
a crescent moon the likes of which adorned Sesshomaru's forehead. The huge
golden oakrs wrs were carved all over with a scene depicting an Inu youkai in
true form standing in the middle of a battle field. The doors were so large
that Kagome swore that Sesshomaru, in true form, could have walked through the
huge doors easily. Looking at the massive doors brought back so many memories
that she had thought buried once the Bone Eaters Well quit working.

Shippou smiled at Kagome's evident disbelief about what swas was seeing. "Momma would you like to stand out here in your memories or
would you like to see the real thing." Gently walking up behind Kagome he
gently ushered her toward the doors. "He's waiting for you and has waited
this long to see you. Don't disappoint him." Guiding her up the rest of
the large wide steps he watched her out of the corner of his eye as the two Uma
(horse) Youkai door guards/men opened the door ushering them in.

Once inside the foyer Kagome stopped and took a look around.
Most of the castle hadn't changed much since when she had last seen it, but
here and there along the walls, prints of famous painting could be seen. A few
seconds later the sound of shoes clicking on the wooden floor came echoing in
from the left. Turning around and looking toward the left hallway she saw a
short and rather toad-like old man came storming up screaming and squawking,
"You good for nothing fox hide. Stop dragging in worthless dirty humans
off the street. Milord would have a fit if he saw this." The little man
had come toward them and was now shaking his cane in Kagome's face, "Get
this filthy human out of here now fox!"

Snarling Shippou grabbed the little man by the back of his
suit and lifted him into the air. Reaching out he grabbed hold of a rosary that
was hidden by the collar and tore it off from around the old mans neck. Kagome
stood there and watched as the short old man quickly transformed into Jaken.
Sitting Jaken down Shippou snatched the cane away, making it turn into the
staff of skulls as he did so, with witch he bashed Jaken on the head and then
knocked him away like a golf ball on the green.

Kagome smiled at this. Even this little show of violence
reminded her of how He always protected Rin, her, Mirkou, and Sango from him;
it also meant that He was here. At that moment a loud roar came from the right
hall rattling the walls, "KIT STOP HARRASING MY RETAINER!!!" Looking
toward the right hallway Kagome saw a large white horse sized dog, with a
concealing rosary about it's neck, come out of one of the rooms and came
walking regally down the hall towards them.

Tears started welling up in her eyes. She took a slow steady
breath. It was Him. It was her love, her silver haired love. Dashing forward
Kagome threw her arms around the dog's neck burrowing her face into the thick
silky fur. Taking in a deep breath Kagome could smell His familiar sent of rich
Sandalwood. The scent was comforting. She hadn't smelled this in a long time.

The dog on the other hand had looked startled when a human
girl ran toward him and latched on around his neck. He started snarling, 'This
human so dares as to touch me.' All of a sudden a familiar spicy fruit scent
wafted up his nose. 'No it can't be!' Taking a deeper whiff of the humans’
particular scent he noticed that her scent was that of a spicy fruit of some
kind but was also laced with a deep scent of sandalwood from mating. It was
her; it was his raven hair loved that he had thought lost 500 years ago.

Shippou stood back and watched as the huge dog transformed leaving
Kagome crying in to Sesshomaru's neck with his arms wrapped around her holding
her close to him, his tail was wrapped around them, and his cheek was resting
on the top of her head; his hands gy ruy rubbing her back soothing her frazzled
nerves. Two tabby cats came wondering in and looked between the reunited couple
and the proud kitsune. Shaking her head the female tabby walked over to Shippou
and jumped up onto his shoulder. "Um.. You two... Um I'm gonna leave and
I'm takin Kera, and Loki with me. Kay?" Ignoring Shippou, Sesshomaru
picked Kagome up and took her to his office. "Kay...Um...bye?"
Shippou reached up and scratched the tabby behind the ears. "You know what
Kilala I think that by the end of winter there might be a little Sesshomaru
running around. What do you think?" The cat Meowed and rubbed her head
against Shippou's cheek. "Come on Loki, you two can spend the night with
me. I don't think you want to stay here and listen to them."

Before Sesshomaru picked Kagome up she had reached up and gave
him a deep kiss. When she felt him pick her up she wrapped her legs around his
slim strong waist and wrapped her arms around his neck all while she was having
a war with his tongue. When they reached the office door she could feel him
fumbling around behind her trying to open the shoji. Once inside he walked over
toward a very large pile of pillows and fell back into the pillows with Kagome
on top breaking their kiss. "I love you."

Smiling Kagome traced the markings on his face with her
index finger, "I know I read the letter." A few moments after basking
in his warmth she finally asked the question that had been plaguing her ever
since Shippou had first came to the shrine, "What REALLY happened after I
left?"

He managed to sit up somewhat and get her sitting across his
lap. Giving her a peck on the nose he smiled at her, "What do you want to
know exactly?"

Kagome pressed closer to Sesshomaru and nestled her head on
his shoulder right under his chin. "Well, what happened to Mirkou and
Sango?"

after you left they went back to Inu Yasha village. After a few years they
married and moved out of the old Miko's Hut into their own house in InuYasha's
forest near the well. In short they lived, had many children, and like all
mortal humans died. In fact they are the founders of your families shrine, and
you are distantly retaliated to them.t;

Leaning back Kagome looked up into his eyes. Tears were
forming in the deep golden pools. "You cared about them?"

"Yes."

Kagome kissed his cheek briefly and went back to snuggling,
"So what about Kilala? What happened to her after Sango and Miroku’s
death? Where did she go?"

Sesshomaru sighed this would be easer. "She's here.
Well in a sense."

"What do you mean?"

"Her name is still Kilala but she goes by the name of
Kera. Now for your first question she is alive and doing just fine. Second
question, after the monk and exterminators death she came here to my home. She
came because at that time is was taking care of Shippou and the twins. A few
years after that she just wondered off for close to a month. When she came back
another of her kind followed her. Shippou, Ni, and Tai ended up giving him the
name of Hono. She's lived here quite happy."

Kagome nodded but this seemed to only raise more questions,
"What does Hono look like? Why did he follow Kilala back?"

Snickering to himself Sess gently pushed Kagome back and
looked into her eyes; "Hono looks like Kilala only black with white
stripes. Also isn't it obvious Hono is Kilala's mate."

Smiling again Kagome snuggled against him again, "What
about Kouga?"

"He's doing quite well. He lives in Hong Kong with his
mate Ayame, and if I'm thinking right he does quite a bit of horse racing. He
also is in charge of lights and sound for the demon band 5MB." Sesshomaru
paused for a bit as he tried to remember all of Kouga's children’s names,
"Hum, if I'm right Kouga and Ayame have 4 children Kira is the oldest at
somewhere around 500, Kunri is second at around 400 years old, Naro was Kouga's
first son and is around yea years old, while their last daughter is Sinre she's
only 3. Now Kouga does have. Now on grandchildren I only know of three. Kira
traveled over to the United States around 26 yeago. go. While she was over
there she fell in love and mated with him. I think his name was Dave Lunsfield
or something like that. Any way they had three cubs as far as I know right now.
Kinri whose 24 and lives in America doing professional mountain biking. Then
there were the twins, Leslie and Riju. Leslie came over on an exchange student
program last year and is going to compete in this years winter X-games. While
her brother just came over to compete in any Snowboarding, skateboarding, and
other extreme sports."

Kagome smiled and looked up at Sess, "I've meet Lez and
Riju. Lez is one of my best friends at school."

"Well that's good."

"What about Inu Yasha and Shippou? Shippou said that he
couldn't tell me much about it because you had specifically said not to."

Kagome nodded preparing herself for the worst.

Sesshomaru took a deep relaxing breath steeling his nerves
for the story the lay ahead.

(A/N: Kay this next part is like a miniature chapter inside
of this that I call Inu's Story. I'm going to try and tell this story from a
third person point of view so don't yell at me. Their is Inu's point of view
but I won't go there. So here is Inu's story)

:: After Kagome had disappeared Inu Yasha started to take
care of Shippou as if he was his own son. During the time that Inu Yasha took
care of Shippou he had begun to feel restless it had been close to two years
from when he had last seen Kagome. Once again he took up the wondering life and
Shippou tagged along claiming that 'Momma' wouldn't want to see him get hurt.
Shippou watched as Inu Yasha searched out clan after clan of Inu Youkai only to
be driven away by the males in the clans. After a few months of this Shippou
asked a question of his 'Papa', "Papa, why are we looking for Inu Youkai
clans and why is it that every time we find a clan we are driven out by the
other males?"

Inu Yasha looked down at Shippou and scratched the growing
kits head at his waist, "Because they are afraid that I am there to take
their females away. Haven’t you noticed how most of those chasing me away are
unmated."

Shippou nodded his red head. "Uh huh."

"Well they think I am a rival. The fewer rivals around
the greater chances that they would be picked by a female to mate."

"Huh?"

Inu Yasha smiled and shook his head. Stopping he crouched
down onto Shippou's level and smiled, "I'm looking for a mate Shippou.
Those males driving me away don't want another male near because it might lower
their chances at getting chosen. One day you will understand." Inu Yasha
started the think about Shippou. He didn't need to see him fight any more. If
anything Shippou needed to be a kid. After making up his mind Inu Yasha turned
toward the Western Lands and his brothers home. Once in the western Lands Yas Yasha meet up with his brother. Sesshomaru was helpful in that much.

“Brother, go to the south. There you will find a large Inu
Youkai clan. My mother use to belong to that clan Tell the lord that I am your
brother and you should be accepted easily. Just watch out and don’t go and get
yourself hurt. Shippou wouldn’t forgive you if you did.”

Three days later Inu Yasha left his brothers strong hold and
traveled south. While he was wondering around the South he stumbled upon the
huge Nomadic Inu clan that his brother had spoken off. As he approached the
clan two scouts came up.

“What do you want around here half breed.”

“I’m here to speak with your lord.”

“What do you want with lord Ganchi?”

Inu Yasha prodded the second scout in the chest with his
claws, “What I want to talk to your lord about is none of YOUR business. You
got that.”

After straightening the two scouts out Inu Yasha barged
right into the clan and started looking for someone who looked like a lord.
What he wasn’t expecting was what happened. All of a sudden guards dressed in
very rich looking armor surrounded him. The next thing he knew was that a large
Inu Youkai dressed in fine furs came walking forward demanding to know why Inu
Yasha had come.

“Why have you come to my lands?”

“My name is Inu Yasha. My brother told me to come here.”

“Who is your brothey tey tell?”

“Taiyoukai of the Western Lands, Lord Sesshomaru, Son of the
great Inu Taiyoukai Inu Taisho.”

“Your name.”

“Inu Yasha.”

When he said his name murmurs erupted all around him and
once in a while he would hear Naraku mentioned. Finally after speaking with a
few guards near by the Lord turned back to Inu Yasha.

“Are you the Inu Yasha whom destroyed Naraku?”

“Yes that is I.”

“And your brother sent you here.”

“Yes he did.”

“Why did he send you here?”

“I am looking for a suitable mate every place I have went so
far has cast me aside not thinking about who I am. My brother thought that
maybe you wouldn’t do that. If you think that I am powerful enough to be a part
of your clan then let me be accepted. I think you will find me wy.”

The lord scratched his chin a moment as if contemplating his
next move on a giant chessboard.

“Fine I decree that you are to be accepted into this clan,
and that you may choose a female when the time is right. Though I warn you. You
might have to fight some of the scouts and if you do you must not kill them. Is
that a deal?”

“That’s a deal.”

Inu Yasha bowed toward the Lord and his assembled court.
Once done he quickly got out of the suffod spd spot and toward the outside.

He followed the clan
around for a couple of years and during that time he had struck up a friendship
with the Lords youngest daughter, Tenshi. They had at last returned to their
summer camp near the western border when Tenshi had asked him something
important one day.

“Inu.”

“Yeah Tenshi.”

“W…wo…would you be my mate?”

Once she had said that Inu Yasha’s face lit up in a huge
grin. This was what he had been searching for so long to find.

“Yes Tenshi. I was hoping to ask you that.”

Tenshi blushed and after telling Inu Yasha that she was
going into her heat soon he scooped her up and ran off. There was no way in the
seven hells she would belong to any other male. About 3 months later Tenshi
bore him twin males named Inu Nichie and Inu Taisho. A few days after they had
been born Inu Yasha managed to convince his mate to come with him to the
Western Lands so that Sesshomaru could give the pups the family blessing.
Unknown to them a small clan of neko youkai were planning to attack them once
they left the safety of the southern lands. Once Inu Yasha and Tenshi reach
boarders of Sesshomaru’s lands the neko’s attacked in droves. Inu Yasha jumped
in front of her and tried to protect her from waves upon waves of neko’s.

“Tenshi! Run!”

“No Inu I’m not leaving you behind to fend for yourself.”

Tenshi stood there and watched as a large female neko
slashed Inu Yasha’s side with her sword. Tenshi jumped forward and shoved both the the little ones into Inu Yasha’s arms.

“No. You run. Take them to your brother. Now!”

Inu Yasha stood there frozen as he watched Tenshi transform
into her true form. Which looked similar to Sesshomaru’s true form. He stood
there watching her fight for a few moments then he ran. The whole time he was
runnin cou could hear the battle ringing then all of a sudden he heard the
sorrowful howl of Tenshi telling him good-bye. The howl quickly changed from a
howl of good-bye to a scream of pain. Inu Yasha knew that he would never see
Tenshi again so he put his head down and ran toward his brother’s home. As he
was running he slowed down. The massive gash on his side had caused him to
loose a lot of blood and the neko who struck him had managed to somehow cause
an infection to take hold, and the infection was some how speed up by his demon
blood. Inu Yasha managed to make it to the front gate of his brother’s home
before he collapsed. Inu Yasha would have lain there most of the night if it
hadn’t been for one of the guards, who was just getting off duty, heard the
wailing of infants. The guard had looked around but had also noticed the smell
of infection and death along with the pups’ wails. The guard walked toward the front gate and peered outside to see
Inu Yasha lying on the ground trying to comfort his pups. The guard fluhe
he
gates open and went out to help Inu Yasha after yelling for Lord Sesshomaru.
The guard slowly approached Inu Yasha only to be stopped by the feral growl.
After a few moments Lord Sesshomaru had come to the front gate to see what was
the matter. When he got to the gate Sesshomaru was knocked back by the smell of
rotting flesh, infection, and death coming from his brother. Looking out the
gates he sees Inu Yasha lying there growling weakly at the guards trying to
keep them from his pups. When Sesshomaru sees this he turns and orders the
nearest servant to fetch a healer and a liter. As they were getting Inu Yasha
inside Sesshomaru followed within Inu Yasha's sight carrying the pups, both of
which were hungry having not been feed for several days. Turning toward a young
woman servant and told her to bring him some food for the pups. As the healer
worked on Inu Yasha, Sesshomaru busied himself trying to get the young pups to
feed on the cow’s milk that was brought to them. The pups kept refusing the
cows milk and finally Sesshomaru had to call in one of the servants who had
recently given birth. Once the pups’ food situation was solved. Sesshomaru went
to the healer’s room to see how his brother was fairing. The healer told him the
Inu Yasha would not live. The damage was too great. Sesshomaru nodded at that
and went into the room. Lying on a futon next to the wall was a bandaged Inu
Yasha scarcely moving. Taking a few steps closer Sesshomaru knelt down next to
him and told Inu Yasha that he had managed to get the pups to feed. All of a
sudden Inu Yasha's hand shoots out and grabs Sesshomaru's sleeve.

"Brother please go get Tenshi. I don't want to leave
her out there?" Inu Yasha whispered.

"Yes brother I'll do as you ask."

Sesshomaru left later after the pups, Shippou, and Rin had
been put to bed. Sesshomaru still didn't have enough guts to tell the young kit
that his father figure was going to die. Going in the direction the Inu Yasha
told him to, Sesshomaru soon came upon the clan of neko's who had set up bon
fires and were celebrating their defeat of an Inu Youkai. Sesshomaru growled at
the grotesque displays. Many of them were wearing necklaces made of Inu teeth,
and claws. Some of them were even wearing Inu fur headbands as a symbol of
their rank. Sesshomaru’s growl escalated in to a howl as he transformed
slaughtering the entire neko clan. Walking over to the horse-sized Inu Youkai
carcass Sesshomaru took a closer look at the Inu who had held his brothers
heart. It was his third cousin on his mother’de. de. So Inu Yasha had been
taken in by the Southern Inu clan and had managed to mate with the lord’s
daughter. Picking up Tenshi's body Sesshomaru flew home as fast as possible.

Soon as he returned Sesshomaru told his men to bury Tenshi
along side his mother. The guards start on the grave as Sesshomaru goes inside
to check on his brother. Soon as he entered the room and sat down he heard Inu
Yasha talk rather weakly.

"Did you go and retrieve her?"

"Yes my men are in the process of burying her next to
mother. Why?"

"I want to see her one last time."

"In your condition, NO. Inu Yasha you wouldn't want to
see her. Believe me."

Inu Yasha lunged up and grabbed Sesshoumaru's Gi, "I
will see her, your help or not."

Sesshomaru finally gave into his brothers pleads and took
him outside to the family graves. Once the rounded the corner and Inu Yasha saw
Tenshi's body he started struggling.

"Let me go I wanna see her. Let me go bastard."

Sesshomaru just let Inu Yasha go so as to not harm his
brother any more then he already was. Inu Yasha had managed to stagger over the
Tenshi's body where he fell to his knees and cried. Sesshomaru looked over at
his guards and told them to go and busy themselves elsewhere. Sesshomaru turns
and goes inside where he is confronted by Shippou wondering when his 'papa'
would return. Sesshomaru picked the young kit up and took him to one of the
inner gardens and sat him back down saying to play out here and not to worry
Inu Yasha would return. Walking back out to the family graves Sesshomaru
collects his brother and takes him back to the healer’s room. In the days
following Tenshi's death Inu Yasha's health declines rapidly, the infection was
killing him and his heart and sprit were broken. He had no reason to live.

One day when Sesshomaru come to check on him Inu Yasha
requested only one thing.

"Bring me Ni and Tai."

"Why?"

"I want to hold them one last time Sesshomaru. I want
to hold them."

"Inu Yasha why don't I bring in Shippou as well."

"No! Let the kit believe that I was killed in battle. I
don't want him to see me wasting away like this."

"Brother once you die would you like me to care for the
young kit and the pups?"

"Yes, thank you. I wish I could have been there for
them."

Sesshomaru got up and left only to return a few moments
later with Inu Nichie and Inu Taisho in his arms. Giving the pups to Inu Yasha
he watched as the pups’ instinctively nestle against their father and slept.
Inu Yasha looked from his sons up to Sesshomaru.

"Leave please. I want to be alone with them."

"As you wish brother."

Sesshomaru got up and left closing the shojowinowing that
this was probably the last time he would see Inu Yasha alive. That evening
Sesshomaru returned to retrieve the pups to find out that his prediction proved
true. Inu Yasha was dead. Turning to a near by servant Sesshomaru ordered for
Inu Yasha to be buried next to Tenshi and that his body be handled with the
utmost dignity and care. Taking the two young pups from the father’s cold arms
Sesshomaru turned around and went to tell Shippou what Inu Yasha wanted him to
tell the young kit.

"Shippou?"

"Sesshomaru when will papa return."

"He will not return Shippou. He's dead."

"No I refuse to hear this."

"Listen kit I will need your help in raising Inu
Yasha's twin male pups. You got that. Inu Yasha treated you like his own son.
So in a way you and me are the only family that these little ones have left.
Now I will take you out to see your 'papa' how’s that."

Shippou had nodded his head reluctantly and follow the
taiyoukai out side to the graves as the men finished putting the last shovel
full of dirt on the grave. Shippou walks over to the grave and says his good
byes. Sesshomaru then takes the young kit to meet his new brothers. During the
years that followed Sesshomaru took the pups under his wing and raised them as
if they were his own. The only thing was that the pups had been told who their
parents were, and were always told stories about their father so that they
would never forget them. When the pups were around five years old Sesshomaru
journeyed to the Southern Lands so as to let them meet their grandfather. The
aging Southern Lord told Sesshomaru to take good care of them and to not let
any thing happen to his precious grandpups. Along with the pups, Shippou and
Rin grew up and later became mates.::

(A/N: And there is Inu's Story. Boy did make him suffer. Oh
well. All for a good cause I say. Oh and now we are back in the present time)

"And that's what happened to Inu Yasha. I'm sorry that
I couldn't do any thing." Sesshomaru comforted her as she cried and
grieved for a friend whom she had hopped to be alive, was dead. "I can
offer you this much. Would you like to meet his children?” Kagome nodded her
head against his neck.

Before Sesshomaru could say much else Tai and Ni both opened
the shoji and crept in. Ni turned around to shut the door and stepped right on
top of his brother’s tail. "Yowch. You big clumsy cow! Get offa my foot
now!"

Ni quickly came to his defense, "Hey it's not my fault
it was in my way. You should watch were the thing is at."

"And YOU should watch were you step. Big foot."
Tai growled out as he poked his twin in the chest.

"Oh yeah!"

"Yeah!"

Sesshomaru gently set Kagome out of the way as he stood up.
"QUIET!!! You will not fight in the vicinity of Kagome. Got it you two
whelps."

Both of the youngsters quickly nodded their heads together.
"My you two look almost identical to your father. If you over look your
tails and the ears."

Tai and Ni both grinned shyly as they each reached up and
rubbed their dog like ears. The only way to tell these two apart was from their
ears; Tai's right ear flopped over while Ni's left did the same.
"Thanks." They both said at the same time.

Kagome stood up and walked over to them smiling, "You
two would have made your father proud. You look like you've grown up
fine."

Tai bowed then looked over toward two very old sworsittsitting in a display case. "Yeah but the Tetsusaiga won't work for either
of us."

Turning around Kagome saw the rather familiar sword and
seemed confused. Was it because Inu Yasha had chosen a youkai as his mate and
not a human, "What do you mean?"

Ni looked at the sword this time and sighed, "We can
hold it but it will not transform."

Looked toward the brothers Kagome noticed how sad they both
looked. Realizing how rude she had been Kagome quickly apologized, "Gomen,
I never meant to be rude."

Tai and Ni both looked at each other and laughed. In no way
had she been rude. The twins spent part of that evening sitting there talking
with one who had caught their father and their uncles attention; while Kagome
sat back down on the pillows with Sesshoumaru auddluddling.
