Prompt Summary: Sesshoumaru decides to have a little chat with Bankotsu.
Later that night when the group finally stopped to make camp, Bankotsu was just about to set up his blanket when he noticed Sesshoumaru was making his way over toward them and knew it could be nothing good. The man had barely said two words to them the entire trip so far, even with the attack on Jakotsu, and he knew whatever he came to say now would not be something he liked. There was too much purpose and seriousness to his walk and expression for it to be any other way.
“I need to speak to you,” Sesshoumaru informed him and though he made it sound like a request, Bankotsu was certain he would not have taken no for an answer. Seeing no reason not to speak to him, as the worst he could do was kick them out of the cattle drive without pay, Bankotsu nodded his head and turned his full attention to him. “In private.”
“Sorry but I am not leaving Jakotsu alone. He is still weak and might get ill again,” Bankotsu insisted, not wanting to say the truth that someone was still trying to kill him, as he wiped dust out of his dry eyes with the back of his hand.
“Inuyasha can watch him,” Sesshoumaru insisted before calling him over. “Stay with him the entire time we are gone,” he instructed of his brother before turning around and heading off away from camp without asking Bankotsu if he was okay with the arrangement or making sure he was actually following. Knowing he would be safe with Inuyasha, Bankotsu sighed softly to himself before nodding slightly to the two of them and heading off in the direction Sesshoumaru had just gone in.
