Ch.10--- Endings and Romance

 

It was three months after that stress filled day in which the pups of Lord Sesshoumaru and Prince Inuyasha had been born. The parents had mild fights about to name the pups. In the end they decided on Seishii for the son and heir; While the girls where Shizue and Izayoi, after Inuyasha's mother of course. After that things had settled into a sort of routine. Inuyasha needed the help of three or four servants most of the time to keep the unruly pups in line. Even at their young age, they caused chaos in the castle. Shippou didn't help matters either. Instead of helping his foster father, most of the time he ended up playing with the pups and joining in on the mayhem.

The pups had so much youkai blood and power that even with hanyou blood in them they still where able to be like their father and shift into true inu form like the first born Shizue had done minutes after her birth. The little princess was still help in great regard in the castle for killing her attacker being so incredibly young. Of course this didn't mean the servants didn't know she was a little killer like her father. She'd already killed 3 of her nursemaids and two of her wet nurses. Inuyasha wasn't completely sure why. The women had been nice, gentle. He was always there when they where caring for them. Still in the middle of feeding Shizue would get upset at something or other, and there went the poison, killing off the wet nurse she was feeding from. Then she'd cry and cry for hours or until a new wet nurse was found for her. Needless to say there was a shortage of women who'd volunteer for the position after that came out. Leaving Inuyasha with no other choice but to try and get his first born daughter to start feeding on meat early. So far it was going well.

It had been great, but it had left Inuyasha needing a days rest from him after that; Sesshoumaru had smirked proudly to himself the entire time while Inuyasha grumbled something or other he didn't quite listen too. When he'd come out of his rest he told Shippou if he ever did that again, he himself would beat his butt raw. So Shippou new that was one trick he couldn't try again.

Lady Inu Kimi had been busy during this time as well. She now often visited her son, and his family to look at the pups, and spend time with them like any happy grandmother would. Sesshoumaru couldn't actually believe it. Old age and grandchildren had softened the old bitch. She was better with them than she'd ever been with him, so he didn't complain ' much' when she came.

She'd also visited the Lord of the South. She'd seen that his mate was still adamant that her son didn't need to kill her daughter, and that she could have been saved, and they where just evil. So she'd come, gotten the Lord to agree to let her see his mate, with the promise that she wouldn't kill her. She went inside.

The conversation would take more an three hours. During which a lot had been said. But what that was the Lord of the South never did find out.

The Lady of the South had come out of it, calmer and more subdued that before; and the Lady Inu Kami left the south, calm that she had solved that problem and now her son would live in relative peace again. Now all she had to look forward too was being there when her three glorious grandchildren where presented to all the Lords. Oh how she wanted that day to come already. She could not wait to see the envy in all the royal's faces.

During the third month of the pup's life, they'd began coming more and more out of the nursery. In their true forms they'd run up and down the castle halls playing and rough housing. “It brings me a kind of peace to come here. Having my live pups playing here reminds me of the incredible gift you've given me.” Sesshoumaru said controlling himself perfectly.

Inuyasha smiled softly and leaned into his mate. “I love you too.” Inuyasha said with a smile, kissing his mate's cheek. Sesshoumaru looked to his mate. Giving him a soft look, he caressed his face gently. He didn't want to think about such things any longer. They where his past. Sesshoumaru took the hint, getting up he walked a bit away, and shifted into his true inu form. He barked to his pups who started chasing their father around the garden. Sesshoumaru would twist and turn among the trees. The pups tried hard to catch their father. Sometimes they'd turn to fast and then they'd slip and slide on the grass, but they'd always get up and run again after their father. Sesshoumaru thoroughly enjoyed the chase. Sometimes he'd slow down, letting his pup catch his tail, and then he'd speed up again. Leaving the pups to chase him again, while barking loudly at him.

Inuyasha just laughed and smirked watching the scene. Who would have ever thought that the big, bad Lord Sesshoumaru would turn out to be such a good dad. It made Inuyasha smirk every time. He was lucky. He knew it. He'd had two incredible mates. Kagome who loved him with all her soul, and accepted him for who he was; And now Sesshoumaru who'd given him the most perfect pups in the world. He supposed old Miroku had been right all along. “My Lord.” A servant called from behind him. Inuyasha turned looking to the man. “Yeah.” Inuyasha said hoping not to have the evening ruined.

“The guest for the pups' introduction have begun arriving.” The servant said.

“Okay... Put them up on the guest wing and tell the introduction starts early tomorrow.” Inuyasha said.

“Very well, My lord.” The servant said, bowed, and went off.

Inuyasha smiled softly. He knew one of those guests would be Kouga and Ayame, with his own cubs. He was very happy that at least some other part of his past was still alive. He wondered what Kouga would say now when he saw him now. That was one part he wasn't looking forward too. He'd gone from being a true alpha, to an alpha breeder, and he was sure Kouga wouldn't let him live it down.

More growls snapped him out of his thought as he looked over and saw Sesshoumaru coming over with yawning, whimpering pups. Inuyasha laughed loudly. No sooner was Sesshoumaru pushing them to their daddy, that the pups shifted to their human forms and cried loudly. The loudest one being Shizue. Inuyasha smirked and picked up both his girls. Kissing their heads and standing up. “Come on, time for bed.” He said as Sesshoumaru shifted as well and picked up his son gently.

“Indeed.” The Lord said with the kit curled up on his shoulder. A few moments later they where in the nursery. Putting the pups down to sleep. Leaving the nurse maids watching after them. Inuyasha got his kit off to bed, and the two happy parents went off to bed as well.

The next day found both parents already dressed and ready in their perfect white and gold clothing, Sesshoumaru's had purple accents, while Inuyasha's had red. The two thought where battling with three stubborn pups who didn't want to stay still while they where put into their ceremonial white and silver clothing for their introduction to the other lords.

“Fucking son.... A... bi... Stay still...” Inuyasha growled out while Seishii just growled up at him and tried to kick hard. Inuyasha just sighed and growled again. After more tries he finally had Seishii into his clothes of heir and future lord. The little pup looked adorable in his mini pretend armor that looked like his father's.

“Tell me this is only one day right? We don't have to do this shit again tomorrow?” Inuyasha asked.

Sesshoumaru himself was trying his best not to growl. Trying his best to stay calm, cold, and stoic while getting a wiggling, struggling, whimpering pup into a baby kimono. It was proving more difficult than he had planned.

“It is only for today.” He said and finally got the girls into their clothes.

With that hell over they picked up all three pups and calmed themselves. As they came out to the hall they could hear all the voices coming from the dinning hall. Every seat was full, and the table had to be extended to accommodate the special place of three pups. There was a special table for all the older children of the visiting Lords and Ladies set out so the adults could talk calmly.

The dining hall was today filled with lanterns and decorations for the special celebration. The names of the three pups done up in writing that where put up on the main wall. Everyone was on pins and needles they couldn't wait to see the three special pups.

Finally the doors opened. The Lord of the West walked in first, carrying his heir. While Inuyasha walked in behind him carrying his two amazing little girls. The kids almost knew all this was for them, cause they played it up for the crowd, kicking, and giving little growls looking their best.

The crowd just fell into a hush as they saw the pups. The power coming off the three was clear for every youkai there to sense. The two Lords placed the pups in the special seats between them at the head of the table.

“Lords, Ladies. I Lord Sesshoumaru welcome you to my castle, and formally present my mate Prince Inuyasha, son of Lord Inu No Taishio to you. It is he who has graced myself and this castle with my three heirs.” Sesshoumaru said looking every bit as cold and collected as he was used too when in front of the lords. “I present to you Prince Seishii. My son and heir. Along with my two girls. Princess Shizue, And Princess Izayoi.” Sesshoumaru with pride in his tone. “I will have you respect and honor them as you would me.” Sesshoumaru said and sat down.

Inuyasha had been nervous as hell as he'd walked in. He tried too like everything Sesshoumaru had told him he was supposed to look like. But it was hard. This was the first time he'd have to be in front of all these assholes as Sesshoumaru's mate. He just breathed and focused on his girls. Looking down to them as he walked, kissing their foreheads before sitting them down into their seats. He'd sat down like he was supposed too once Sesshoumaru presented him. As he did so he looked around at all the faces. The lords of the East, South, and North where all there, with their own heirs. The smaller kids sitting off in the kids' table. He smirked a bit when he saw Kouga's eyes looking at him in shock. Like the wolf couldn't believe that was the old hanyou he used to know. He was looking different now, Much more polished. His hair was combed, and not as wild. But still held a wave to it that Sesshoumaru's didn't have. He was stronger, more well fed than before. Sesshoumaru always making sure he had eaten enough. Something he didn't always have before. Inuyasha looked up as Sesshoumaru presented their three kids and he smiled softly, looking proudly to his three little pups, as they squirmed a bit in their seats and growled softly looking up to their parents. Once Sesshoumaru sat down the meal started being served and Inuyasha took the opportunity to feed the pups bits of meat to calm them down.

Kouga stood, and bowed to Lord Sesshoumaru. “My Lord. Let me be the first to congratulate you and your proud mate in your amazing pups. The North welcomes the news with joy.” Kouga said with his normal cocky tone, as he bowed again, and sat.

Sesshoumaru looked to the wolf Lord and nodded. “The west thanks you Lord Kouga.” He said. Inuyasha smirked back to the wolf. Silently they where telling each other everything the other needed to know. Mentally they where laughing their heads off. Inuyasha knew Kouga couldn't believe Lord Sesshoumaru had really won him, mated him, and now he was playing happy home maker with the Lord of the West. Sometimes Inuyasha couldn't believe it either.

Sesshoumaru looked to his mate, looked back at the wolf and raised an eyebrow, then used his fur to smark Inuyasha's butt. Inuyasha blinked barely controlling his yelp at the smack, and looked to Sesshoumaru who was giving him the possessive jealous look. It just made Inuyasha roll his eyes a little and look down. Wasn't it enough for the dammed bastard that he couldn't talk during this stupid shit?! Apparently not... And why royal etiquette dictated that the breeding mate couldn't speak in front of other royals at a formal ceremony was beyond him. It all sounded like a bunch of excuses to keep mates quiet to him. Inuyasha looked up to Kouga again, The bastard was laughing his head off... Of course he was... Inuyasha just rolled his eyes and grumbled. If he only had been allowed to bring his word he'd give that dammed wolf a piece of his mind... silently... He didn't need to talk... Tetsusaiga could do all the talking for him.

The other lords spoke around him. Each one congratulating Sesshoumaru on his mate, and his pups. It was all getting Inuyasha really annoyed... He sat there just barely able to control himself. Just sitting, looking to his plate, eating as elegantly as he could try being. Trying to keep the growling to himself. Just sit there and look pretty'. That's what the servants had told him. Yeah... Right... All the bastards speaking like Sesshoumaru had done all the work. Speaking about him like he was a piece of meat. All this made him remember why he hated all these cocky bastards so much. He looked over when his pups started crying loudly. Shizue growling up a storm while looking at the other lords baring her little fangs at them. Inuyasha sighed and got up, they had picked up on his anger. He just sighed, trying to relax, as he picked up Seishii and Izayoi. Shizue growled shifting to her true inu form. Breaking the seat she had been on. Inuyasha didn't look to anyone. Not even Sesshoumaru. He just held his pups, got up and left. Shizue following behind her daddy with her tail high like she was giving everyone a 'hmpht!'.

By the time he got to the nursery with the pups he wasn't that much calmer. If anything he was angrier. He couldn't believe them... All of them... Inuyasha sighed when he felt cold noses nuzzling his hands. He looked down seeing all three pups had shifted and where now pressed against him looking up to him with worried eyes, while giving him soft whines.

“I'm sorry...Daddy's sorry...” Inuyasha said kneeling down and hugging all his pups to him. “I didn't mean to get you guys upset.” He said looking up when he heard the door open. He rolled his eyes a minute and just looked to his pups, rubbing their heads to calm them down.

“What was that about?! You where not supposed to leave!” Sesshoumaru said in a cold tone, trying his best to hide his anger. This was about more than the smack, he'd given him. He knew that. But what else was it about he had no idea. He was sure he was going to find out in a moment.

“The pups where crying. I came to calm them down. Did ya want to have them crying all morning?” Inuyasha said still not looking to Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru looked to his mate, looked to his pups and rolled his eyes. “You couldn't very well behave for one morning in front of Lords could you?” Sesshoumaru said coldly. “It was too much to ask, I should have assumed as much.” He said with the stoic tone being added to his voice.

“I FUCKING TOLD YOU! I'M NOT A BITCH! I'm not some prissy ass little shit you're gonna play up in front of those bastards!!!! They're all talking and saying shit!! Like you did all the fucking work!! And did some marvelous thing like taming my ass!!! I got news for your fucking Lords, you haven't tamed shit!!! If that's what you've been thinking, You don't know me... I've been nice Sesshoumaru. I've done my part in this fucking relationship! Don't fucking mistake it for submission! I ain't going back out there to play sissy bitch to those bastards!” Inuyasha said while growling loudly at Sesshoumaru who just starred at him with that cold unreadable expression of his.

“Are you done with your ranting now?!” Sesshoumaru said coldly, looking to his brother with a bored tone. It just earned him another growl. Inuyasha was so ready to just smack his ass from here to the north lands. “I have never said you where my bitch in public. What they assume has never concerned me; and if it annoyed you so much you should have spoken up.” Sesshoumaru said with the same tone as before. He was neither angered now, nor annoyed. A little hurt... perhaps... But he wasn't about to show it. After Inuyasha's ranting he'd seen what was bothering him, and why he'd left breakfast.

Inuyasha just starred at him dumbfounded. “But...Royal etiquette and all...” He said looking to Sesshoumaru. “I ain't supposed to speak... Remember...” Inuyasha said looking up to his mate, his ears stuck to his skull.

“Since when have you cared about royal etiquette Inuyasha?” Sesshoumaru simply said with an elegantly raised eyebrow as he looked to his mate.

 

“Ummm...My lords....” A nursemaid behind them spoke quietly trying to get their attention.

 

“WHAT!?” Both lords said turning to her. Inuyasha of course saying it with an angered tone.

 

“I am dreadfully sorry to... ummm.. interrupt my Lords... but... Prince Seishii, and Princess Izayoi have run off, and we can not find them.” The nursemaid said.

Inuyasha blinked at that. He looked around, panic settling into him. By his feet only Shizue stayed, looking up to him with watery eyes. He hugged her to him. “CRAP!” Inuyasha said as Shizue shifted to human form, he picked her up. The baby girl crying her heart you. “Crap..!” He said rubbing her back. “I'm sorry... I didn't mean to yell... and scare you... Daddy's not angry at you... I promise...” Inuyasha said running out into the hallway where Sesshoumaru already was. “What are we gonna do?” Inuyasha asked looking up to Sesshoumaru and then looking around.

“Where would they go?” Sesshoumaru said frowning. He motioned for the guard. “Keep the Lords in the dinning hall. I want the castle sealed off and my pups found. Search every part of the castle!!!” Sesshoumaru ordered coldly. He was trying his best not to panic.

“The garden.. maybe...” Inuyasha said as he saw Kouga rushing over to them.

“Hey puppy! Saw your pups rushing out past the dinning hall.” Kouga said.

Inuyasha nodded and was about to rush off with Kouga when Sesshoumaru grabbed his arm, making him look up to Sesshoumaru. “Sesshoumaru... We'll talk later okay... This ain't no time for you to get possessive! Kouga's mated!!! Remember!!! Ayame!!! Nice wolf girl?!” He said looking to Sesshoumaru seeing the red in his eyes, he groaned. Kouga just smirked at him.

“Lord Sesshoumaru wolves mate for life. I can assure you the puppy and I are more like best friends.” Kouga said trying to be nice to the dog lord. He seemed to be having a rough day.

Inuyasha finally got his arm back and shook his head. “Why don't you search the outside grounds...” Inuyasha said. “Kouga, Ayame, and I can help search the castle.” Inuyasha said watching Sesshoumaru take off towards the outside.

“What the hell was that about?” Kouga asked looking to Inuyasha.

“Nothing...Just had a fight.. That's all..” Inuyasha said sighing. “Should have never agreed to this fucking shit in the first place.” Inuyasha said growling.

“I was shocked to all hells when I saw you behaving puppy... For a minute there I really thought the rumors where true.” Kouga said with that cocky smirk of his.

“As if anyone could tame me ya mangy wolf.” Inuyasha said and he ran off looking for his pups. Kouga laughed, and they both separated. Inuyasha searched every spot in the lower parts of the castle. Kouga did the same with the top floors. The guards searched everywhere as well. While Sesshoumaru and the rest of the guards searched all the surrounding gardens.

 

Meanwhile, what no one realized was that Lady Inu Kimi had come to the presentation ceremony, getting there slightly late, but in time to see the two pups rush off whimpering into the gardens. She shook her head, and went after her grandchildren. After calming them down, reassuring them that their parents where not mad at them, she'd convinced them to shift to their human form. After which she picked them up and carried them up into the clouds, from where she watched Sesshoumaru and the guards going insane trying to find the two. She smiled evilly to herself. That had been two hours ago; now she could see her son was quite frantic. She giggled a bit to herself, looking very amused.

“Well I think your parents have suffered enough.” Lady Inu Kimi said with a small giggle and came down from the clouds. Looking like an angel holding the two pups.

Sesshoumaru smelled his mother almost instantly. He stopped and looked up to see her coming down. His eyes went red almost instantly. He should have known. If he could kill the old bitch, he would.

Lady Inu Kimi smirked to her son and landed gracefully. “You should really know better than to fight in front of your pups, Sesshoumaru. You scared the poor babies half to death. It took me nearly 15 minutes to calm them down. You're lucky I found them.” She said with a tone made to make him feel bad.

Sesshoumaru looked to his mother, keeping a growl to himself. He went to her, taking his pups and turning from her coldly, he walked into the castle going to find Inuyasha. The two pups cuddled into their father's hold, whimpering up at him.

“Not even a thank you?!” Lady Inu Kimi said. “Such an ungrateful son I have.” She said pretending it hurt her. She followed after him, just to watch and see how his little mate was.

Inside, Inuyasha and everyone had searched every kook and cranny of the castle, and of course... Found nothing... Inuyasha was now in the nursery, holding a Shizue to his chest, just trying not to cry anymore. Shizue whimpered in his arms, clutching and holding onto her daddy's clothes like her life depended on it, while Ayame and Kouga tried to reassure the hanyou that his pups would be found okay, even though they knew it'd been two hours and the whole dang place had been turned upside down by now. That was when Sesshoumaru came through the door, holding both pups. The Lord came over to his mate, and placed the pups down on his lap. Then sat down with him on the floor holding his mate and family to him.

Kouga and Ayame silently thanked kami for the pups' safe return, not wanting to see their friend in anguish any more.

“You're the Lord and Lady of the North yes?” Lady Inu Kimi asked looking to them as if nothing important was happening.

It made Kouga look to the lady with a 'wtf' expression. Seeing a female version of Sesshoumaru was freaky as hell to anyone after all.

“Yeah... Lord Kouga, this is my mate Lady Ayame.” Kouga said.

“Ah... yes... the one that has the history with my son's mate. So charming, to think if it wasn't for your mate there, my grandchildren would be yours.” Lady Inu Kimi said with a small smirk. Kouga looked to Ayame weirded out. “Funny the way things work out sometimes, isn't Sesshoumaru.” Inu Kimi said giggling.

“Is there some reason you are still here, mother!!” Sesshoumaru said growling out. After the day he'd had the last thing he wanted where pictures in his head of the dammed wolf fucking his mate.

“Fine Sesshoumaru, be as you may. Remember next time I might not be there to save your pups.” Inu Kimi said turning and leaving. Sesshoumaru barely controlling another growl.

“We'll go deal with the lords and get them out. Come visit us sometime Inuyasha. We'll love having you again.” Ayame said going over and hugging him.

Inuyasha hugged her back and gave her a grateful look. “Thanks. We will.” Inuyasha said nodding to Kouga who waved to him.

Once everyone was gone, The door was closed, they where alone. Inuyasha threw himself into Sesshoumaru's arms, crying. Sesshoumaru sighed mentally and held his mate. Inuyasha kept saying he was sorry... over and over...

“There is nothing for you to be sorry for, mate. My mother found them, and kept them from us all this time to make us suffer.” Sesshoumaru explained. He heard a growl and just nodded to his mate, Kissing the top of his head, then kissing his ear lightly.

Inuyasha whimpered out, at that. “Why would she do that?” Inuyasha said cuddling his three pups to them as he laid his head on Sesshoumaru lap.

“Because she likes causing suffering Inuyasha. She thinks them lessons.” Sesshoumaru said, idly running his claws through his mate's hair, allowing himself a time to relax and calm down.

“Maybe I deserved it... I yelled at you in front of 'em. I shouldn't have done that...” Inuyasha said sighing. Sesshoumaru looked down to him, he lifted him up gently, kissing him passionately. After the kiss Inuyasha looked up to his mate with a grateful look on his face.

“Let's not mention it again. We are both learning Inuyasha.” Sesshoumaru said and gently caressed his mate's face. He looked around at his pups they'd all fallen asleep. Sesshoumaru had a ghost of a smile on his face at this. The two stayed there the rest of the day, just spending it with themselves and their pups. When Shippou came back from fox school everything was calm again.

 

The rest of their lives was almost just as peaceful. Aside from the normal growing pains, the two Lords of the West where happy, and content living the rest of their lives together. More pups came after a time. Older pups mated off. Went away to live their own lives. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha stayed together. Living content, happy lives with each other.
