Sango sighed to herself as she and Kagome bathed. Things had certainly turned in a direction that the slayer didn't think they would.

"Why her?" Kagome began.

Sango sighed, "Didn't Kaede tell you anything about demonic urges?"

"No."

Sango bit her lip. Why hadn't she, unless, was the old priestess not fully taught about demons and their behavior patterns?

"Kagome," the slayer began, "Inuyasha has urges. Being a half demon, his human half is disgusted with those urges. As Rin said, demons are more physical with their emotions. With Inuyasha, he's got the human emotions that a demon doesn't have, and those stronger urgers that a human doesn't have. This is probably causing a internal conflict with him. That's probably why he's angry a lot of the time. Since he hasn't bitten Haruka, she isn't his mate, but she's closer to that than you are."

Kagome bit her lip, "What do I do?"

"First, you have to stop making him think you're telling him 'no' when you sit him. You've got to learn another way to make him feel stupid when he's being stupid. Then, you've got to show him that you are willing to rut with him as well."

"But..."

"He's half demon, remember? Plus, you've got to realize that you need to eventually choose, this time, or your own time."

Kagome looked down into the water. Sango was right. If she didn't she'd lose Inuyasha.

"Where the hell does your kind live? I've never seen a tiger demon before," Inuyasha asked as the two headed for the spring that the girls had just vacated.

"My kind lived on the mainland, but I, being a half tiger, am not as of a desirable female. So, I came here so I wouldn't be harassed by stupid males."

"I didn't think about how hard female half demons have it."

"Of course you didn't, you've never met a female half demon before," she teased and tweaked his ear.

"Not as old as you."

"So, besides the fact that you wanted to rut me,"

"I didn't want to rut with you the moment we met, you were chasing my food!"

"Why did you want me to come with you?" she continued ignoring his complaint.

"As I said, I've never met a female half demon before, they don't live long enough to get to your age."

"And?"

"When's your human night?"

"Now why should I tell you that?"

"Night of the full moon is mine."

She was about to make another smart comment but stopped the moment she had heard that.

"Crescent moon after your new moon night."

"Listen, you let me sleep during my human night and I'll watch over you during yours."

"I don't like it when I'm human. I'm...too easily flustered and can be easily taken advantage of. you don't rut with me on that night the first time then we've got a deal."

"Fine, but don't think I won't tickle you..."

"You better not or I'll torment you on yours."

"Hey, why do I have to bathe tonight? I only bathe once a week!" Inuyasha complained.

"If you are going to lay with me, you need to keep yourself cleaner than you do."

"Grrr," he grumbled but followed her without another word.

'Goodness, Naraku has been corrupting the shard that is in this boy by...no, I can't even think that thought.' Kikyou thought while looking down at the sleeping slayer boy. She could see the residue of Naraku's...no, she wouldn't think what that was that was on his mouth. Kikyou closed her eyes. The only way to preserve this boy's life and get the shard was to become one with this shard. She focused and her soul left the clay shell that it had been and plunge into the jewel shard within Kohaku's body. The shard turns a bright light purple and launched into the air, leaving behind a still breathing Kohaku. A shadowy, female figure approached the boy, gently picked him up, and took off with demonic speed.

Kagome sat up from her slumber. She felt a jewel shard coming towards their campsite. Before she could tell anyone, the shard impacted onto her chest and her eyes rolled into the back of her head.

"Where...where am I?" she asked her self.

"Hello Kagome."

"Kikyou?"

"I became one with the shard that was within Kohaku. Doing this means that the boy will live, but I no longer am in my clay body."

"Kikyou," Kagome said in awe of the actions of the older priestess.

"Kaede wasn't trained enough to teach someone. That's why you didn't know how to properly charm a word to the necklace. She didn't know how I did it. Do you still wish to be with him? Do you love him?"

Kagome thought hard on those questions. She then came to her answer.

"I want to se him happy."

"A wise answer. I shall now impart my memories and knowledge to you. With that, you may gain a better understanding of how I could tame Inuyasha and you may still have a chance," Kikyou said. 'And, you might not be his Alpha mate, but if Sesshomaru hasn't done what I think he hasn't done, then Inuyasha is still Beta male of their clan. If that is so, then Kagome could still be with him, but as a Beta mate.' she thought before placing a hand on Kagome's forehead.

Where was he? Where was Kohaku! Naraku was searching for the boy, but it seemed that the boy had vanished. He sent his wasps and his incarnations orders to find the boy. He had lost the connection to the boy and that concerned him greatly.

'I'll find you boy, and when I do...' he thought darkly. It wouldn't go well for Kohaku the next time Naraku found him.
