Chapter 9

“What the hell is going on,” Inuyasha yelled in shock at the sight of his brother.
It wasn’t the fact that Sesshomaru was in work clothes that humans/yokai wore while doing hard manual labour that Inuyasha found shocking; it was the fact that Sesshomaru was now neon pink.
“What the hell happened?” Inuyasha said between bouts of laughter.
“It seems that this Sesshomaru had forgotten about Kitsune’s being tickers by nature with their little pranks,” Sesshomaru said as he shot Harry a glare who was looking everywhere but at Sesshomaru.
“What? Me? Never!” Harry said with a ‘butter wouldn’t melt in my mouth’ look on his face, “This isn’t working is it?”
“Not by a long shot mister,” Kagome said with her hands on her hips, “Change Sesshomaru back into his proper colours please.”
With a click of his fingers Harry had changed Sesshomaru back and only leaving Sesshomaru’s tail neon pink.
“I guess that will do,” Kagome said with a sigh before she rounded on Harry, “And don’t think you’ve gotten out of this, oh no you haven’t. Just you wait mister!”
Harry gave a huff and crossed his arms; he had forgotten that this miko would be his new ‘mother’.
“Oh my,” the voice of the old woman came from the porch of her house, “Looks like it’s getting late, today’s gone by so fast with so much happening.”
“She is (< you forgot is) right,” Kagome said as she looked up at the sky and saw the sun was starting to set, “Is there any work that has to be done at night time?”
“Only guard duty and it’s my turn tonight,” Harry said as he was about to leave but two random villagers grabbed him before he could go.
“You’ve been on night watch for the past six months Harry,” villager one said as they placed Harry down next to his family.
“Yeah, you just leave the night watch to us,” villager two said with a grin as they left a shocked Harry standing with his newly found family as they made their way to their positions.
Kagome inched up to Harry so she was standing behind him and Harry could feel her glare on the back of his neck.
“You’ve been protecting the village all hours?” Kagome asked, her mother instincts from the bond coming into play.
“Yes…” Harry said slowly as they started to make their way back to his house for the night, “Why, is that a problem?”
“Why yes it is a problem,” Kagome said, not paying any attention as her mate, her mate’s brother and children slowly backed away knowing what was to come.
“Oh?” Harry asked stiffly, “Do you have a problem with me protecting this village, mother?”
“Why no I don’t,” Kagome said in a sickly sweet voice making all of them flinch but Harry.
“Then what is your problem?” Harry asked, he may have somehow gotten a family but they had only been around for a day or so he would chose Humkai if he had to make that decision.
“The problem is the amount of sleep you get mister,” Kagome said as she took hold of Harry’s coat and started to drag him towards his home, “You’re going straight to bed mister and I don’t want to hear any complaints from you! Just how many hours do you sleep in 24 hours?”
Deciding to help his mate out with his newly found mother Sesshomaru stepped forward, “Kagome, yokai need less sleep then humans do.”
“I don’t care,” Kagome said with a huff, “He may be your mate but he is (< two words) my son!”
With that Kagome dragged Harry back to the house and forced him into an early night with Shippo and Rin laughing at their older brother who had to go to bed earlier than them.
“So...how are you going to do it?” Inuyasha asked Sesshomaru as they made themselves comfortable on Harry’s roof.
“You approve then?” Sesshomaru asked slightly shocked but he didn’t show it, “Your older brother dating your now eldest son?”
Inuyasha gave Sesshomaru a mocking smirk, “I might have been brought up around humans but I know my fair share of yokai culture to understand mating. How did you think I managed to get Kagome into a bond that’s acceptable by both yokai and humans?”
Sesshomaru ignored this little fact much to his brothers amusement and glared at the now rising moon, “I will woo my stubborn mate and show him just what I can do.”
“Yeah and one of those things will be along the lines of getting thrown into trees,” Inuyasha said with a grin as his brother started to play fight with him.
They had been messing around for a few hours, trading insults and hits when the weird sounds came from the forest.
“Did you hear that?” Inuyasha asked as they paused in their action in front of Harry’s house.
Sesshomaru didn’t speak but only gave a nod to his brother and both Inu’s got into fight ready stances with their hands on their swords.
The next few seconds felt like a life time but when it did happen it seemed to be like someone had hit fast forward.
A giant snake the size that was so large it had been just hidden by the forest came out of the forest and pounced on Sesshomaru and Inuyasha with its mouth wide and fangs full of venom.
