Chapter 10
Tritogaou was furious with his son when he found out the deal he had made with Kagomesui. Had his son refused to learn from his first mistake? Now he would lose both sons.
“You are a fool Sesshoumeru. You will regret this decision and make me weep for you too? How could you do this to your Father?”
Sesshoumeru bowed down before his Father.
“I swear it on my life, I will not fail you Father. I will find someone.”
Tritogaou moaned in agony.
“You do not know what you are doing son. I fear I have lost you both.”
Sesshoumeru felt great sadness at his Father’s lack of faith in him, but nodded continuing his search.
For fifty years Sesshoumaru searched for anyone who loved Inuyasha. It was sad really. All had given up on the boy and found that they were indeed glad that the half blooded Prince was dead. There was so much prejudice and Sesshoumeru then realized it was no wonder that Meryasha wanted to live as a goldfish. At least then he could be free to be one thing rather than deal with such cruelty.
Kagomesui waited patiently, she had all the time in the world and knew it was impossible for Sesshoumeru to find anyone that loved that half breed even if he was pretty.
After a while Sesshoumeru’s heart became colder. He was dying.
Going to Meryasha’s grave he talked often with his brother.
“Meryasha I do know Father loves you, but his love is not the kind that will break this spell. You have angered so many brat, but I find that I miss you. The more I search for love for you the more I find perhaps only I knew you best. Father had no time for us, but he misses you so much. He regrets the time missed so he spends time with me.’
“Meryasha I know one thing for certain. You will not be alone when I die. I will be here at your side little brother.’
“This is the only time you will hear this from me, but I have regrets on how I treated you. You were my best friend and the only person I could stand to be around. You made me laugh and I do not laugh anymore.’
“I will be back again to see you tomorrow.”
With that Sesshoumeru left feeling worse as he walked away. He hated this feeling he had. The feeling of loss and the great sadness that filled him when he thought of Meryasha’s smile that was no more.
