As The Hourglass Spins

Lucian shook his head as he landed and went to attack only to have Inuyasha come flying off the balcony along with Sesshoumaru who took on his demon dog form. No one hurt his mates even if they were being a pain in his ass.

Sesshoumaru knew that this was a hopeless situation as far as trying to beat the most powerful demon ever known, but no one attacked his mates without receiving a lot of pain. The only thought on his mind was to keep Lucian from killing Inuyasha and once it was done he needed to get back to Megan to insure she was alive after that blow Lucian dealt her.

For many years Sesshoumaru taught Rin that gentlemen do not hit ladies and Sesshoumaru would not allow Lucian to get away with striking his Megan. She was just trying to protect Inuyasha. It was not that Inuyasha couldn’t handle himself since he was really surprised by Inuyasha’s new power. Sesshoumaru wondered if Inuyasha could kill Lucian without the tessaiga’s help because so far Inuyasha was pushing Lucian back quite a ways as the two of them brawled on the sandy beach.

“You are pretty good kid, but not good enough.”

Lucian stated as he pinned Inuyasha down again. However this time Sesshoumaru took advantage of Lucian’s unprotected back as he lifted the man into his mighty jaws.

Inuyasha then scrambled up to get a few punches in only to have Lucian suddenly disappear on both of them.

Sesshoumaru sniffed the air trying to find his foe when suddenly the sky went pitch black and standing before the two brothers was an enormous demon dog that was three times the size of their Father.

Both Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru’s jaws dropped as they looked up at the big dog that regarded them both with a slight smirk on his face.

“You thought you could defeat me my little pups. I fear that we must end this futile fight and accept the fact I dominate you both. However, if you wish to continue fighting me than I will humor you both for a while. I have not had a decent scrap in years so it will do this old man good to see you try your best.”

Sesshoumaru snorted at the large dog. Just because he was bigger did not mean he was invincible. He would continue the fight with Inuyasha at his side.

“Call your sword Inuyasha.”

Sesshoumaru barked at Inuyasha who nodded as he willed Tessaiga to his side. Sesshoumaru called upon Bakusaiga and Tensaiga transforming into his humanoid form.

The swords flew towards their Masters within seconds and Inuyasha was ready to send Lucian to hell. Doing as he usually did he swung the sword like it was a battering ram sending off several of the crescent shaped Meidous at the large canine who just sniffed them then using his breath he blew them all aside as they fell into the sand creating some large holes then watched as the Meidous disappeared into the sand.

“That was new and interesting Inuyasha. Let us see what your Father’s fang can really do since it has been a while since I trained Toga with that little sword.”

Inuyasha frowned. He didn’t like being played with and this demon most likely had dealt with all the capabilities of Tessaiga. Still he added the adamant barrage which he could mix with the backlash wave since he now had that move memorized thanks to his Dad’s training.

As Inuyasha swung the sword the giant adamant shards and the wave flew at Lucian with lightning fast results. However the shards just bounced off of Lucian and the wave itself just flew over him like a welcoming breeze.

“Oh, I like that one. It is a good maneuver however you swing your sword like a battering ram. It is a sword not a club. Perhaps I can help you fine tune that ability.”

Lucian stated only to have Sesshoumaru come at him with Bakusaiga finding that on Lucian the sword would not cut. All it did was ping against him as he slashed at the giant beast.

Sesshoumaru growled in frustration only to stop his assault and look up at the overly large canine in frustration.

“Sesshoumaru nothing we do is working.”

Inuyasha stated now in a bit of a panic.

Sesshoumaru had to admit defeat until he watched Inuyasha jump up on the big dog trying his best to bite and claw Lucian to death.

Sesshoumaru was certain Inuyasha was making an impact on the big dog since he could smell that powerful blood coming off of the monstrous canine. However, with a shake of his fur Lucian made Inuyasha fly out into the ocean.

“He is all brawn and no brains when he fights. It is your fault Inuyasha is not properly trained Sesshoumaru. Perhaps your mates are right about you. You have much to learn from me about being an Alpha. It is not your Father’s job to be a role model to this pup after you chose to mate him. You need me to teach you how a proper Alpha behaves. It is a good thing I came here and that you are now my mate.”

Sesshoumaru frowned at that comment. He was an excellent Alpha and no one except this demon would state that he was flawed in any way.

“I did try to train Inuyasha. However, Inuyasha’s fighting style works for him and he indeed is famous for his uncouth tactics. I would not change him and if you try he will rebel.”

Lucian turned back into his humanoid form.

“So you allow insubordination yet you are to be the example of all you rule. This is most unfortunate. You cannot keep control of your subjects if you cannot even control your own mates.’
“It will take time, but I will show you the errors of your ways like I have done for every Alpha I have approved of. You are indeed not a perfect Alpha yet and that is disappointing. You have the capabilities of being the greatest Alpha in existence, but you choose not to further your education with one who knows more than you ever could imagine.’
“You fight me just as your mates have done. If you are to be the greatest Alpha in this world than you must take all I say to heart otherwise I will be forced to find another to take your place. I normally would just kill you, but now that you are my mate I will keep you while I take over for a time. Do not fret since unlike the other Alpha’s I have trained you will find yourself training me for this era so it will be a give and take relationship. I will not take over unless it is absolutely necessary.’
“Now, let us go and see how our Megan is doing. I do not normally strike women, but it was an instinctive move to keep her at bay. I am not pleased that I caused her harm.”

Sesshoumaru didn’t know what else to do than to nod. He always had wanted conquest and power, but now he knew that was an impossible dream since he had finally met a foe that would have been worthy to battle if it were not for the issue of Lucian’s god like powers. The man was invincible and had earned the right to be feared.

Inuyasha trudged up the beach soak and wet feeling rather put out as he followed the two Alpha’s back to their home. He couldn’t believe that none of his moves worked on that bastard Lucian. It seemed so unfair that when it came to grappling the guy he could do some damage, but it was insignificant since the asshole wouldn’t die. However, Inuyasha refused to admit defeat yet. Everyone had a weak spot and Inuyasha was going to find Lucian’s if it took him the rest of his life to do it.

Alistair and Toga found themselves surrounded by Alpha demons as the Elders returned from wherever they went.

Arashi, Balachandra, and Chief Lucian showed up drunk stating the women had kicked their drunken buts out since they were found dancing naked under the full moon in front of their wives friends.

Of course the Chief was wearing his snake skin medicine bag and his loin cloth with nothing else on while carrying a rather large bottle of Crown Royal. He had bought forty of these bottles and with the help of Arashi and Balachandra had finished all but five of them in one hour.

“Son, why are you still fully dressed like a heathen white man who stole all our lands from us? Are you ashamed of your heritage?”

Chief asked Alistair as Alistair frowned at his Father wondering how he and his Mother ever remained sane.

“I am not dressed inappropriately unlike you who seems to let everything hang in the breeze.”

Alistair stated as he tried to get his Father down from the roof of their house. For some reason the three ‘wise men’ decided all of a sudden that they were going to find the constellation of the Spirit of the Great Wolf Demon on the roof of their children’s home since it was too cold to go look up on one of the many mountains at night.

Now Toga and Alistair were stuck up on their roof trying to keep their drunken Fathers from falling off of it.

“Toga, I need more whisky. Make yourself useful boy and fetch some for us.”

Toga looked at his Father Arashi like he gained a new head. He was not going to go and get anything of the sort. It was three in the morning and all the stores were closed.

“I can’t do that. I told you already that everything is closed during this time.”

Arashi frowned at his son.

“Well than make them open. You are an Alpha demon so you can make the humans open up their stores. All you have to do is threaten to eat one of them.”

Toga wrinkled his nose.

“That is completely disgusting.”

Arashi then stood up to go do it himself only to pass out in his son’s arms.

“Alistair has Chief found the damn constellation yet? I need to take my Father inside and the bastard is heavy as hell.”

Chief nodded.

“We will go inside now.”

Alistair let out a sigh of relief. He really did not want to be out all night with his Father telling him his woes all night long since Mother was apparently being a bitch when all he wanted to do was to greet the great Wolf Spirit properly.

As they all entered the house Balachandra noticed a strange scent that seemed very familiar. As he sniffed around the house then sniffed the two boys he sobered up rather quickly.

“Lucian was here.”

Chief looked at Balachandra like he lost his mind.

“Of course I am here and I told you to quit calling me by that English bastard name.”

Balachandra growled.

“Not you ya old coot, Lucian the Alpha killer.”

Chief then sniffed the air. It was permeating the whole room.

He too sobered up rather fast as he dropped his precious whiskey onto the floor.

“Why is he here and when were you both going to tell us?”

Balachandra stated as he looked at both Toga and Alistair.

“He was only here briefly, but he is taking up permanent residence with Sesshoumaru since he is now fully mated to our children.”

Chief blew up as he poked Alistair rather hard in the chest.

“How could you have let that happen? Sesshoumaru is too young to handle this on his own! How could you two leave them and not inform us right away! That is it! You are both grounded.”

Chief roared. Now they all had real problems.

“It wasn’t our fault. Megan got pissed off at Lucian and attacked him for trying to bite Sesshoumaru. Both Inuyasha and Megan went berserk………..”

Chief grabbed Alistair by the throat and shoved him against the wall.

“You were to help Sesshoumaru with that damn cat demoness. She was your responsibility and so is Sesshoumaru as well as that boy Inuyasha. You and Toga were supposed to keep tabs on that little pack to insure that they knew Lucian’s law. Apparantly you did not explain such things to them otherwise they would not be in the mess they are in right now.’
“Balachandra, Arashi, and I kept that bastard demon at bay for a time so that he would not come back to fuck up our lives again. He will insist on training Sesshoumaru now and none of us want that. We all like things as they are and our perfect Alpha is now going to be corrupted.”

Alistair growled a bit at his Father.

“I told Sesshoumaru all about Lucian and his law. It isn’t my fault that Sesshoumaru decided to keep such information from his mates.”

Chief let Alistair go as his son rubbed his now sore neck.

“We are going to fix this problem. Arashi, wake up you asshole!’

Chief stated as he punched Arashi across the jaw waking him.

“Geeze Lucian you don’t have to be so damn mean.”

Arashi complained as he sat up on the couch.

“Lord Lucian is back brother and I am not talking about this half naked crazy man.”

Balachandra stated causing Arashi to also sober up rather quickly.

“I thought we got rid of him.”

Arashi stated as he held his head feeling worse than he did before.

“Well apparently our current Alpha, your Grandson Sesshoumaru, is mated to that son of a bitch along with his other mates.”

Arashi looked as though he was going to blow up at Toga, but fact was Sesshoumaru did know Lucian’s law. Every Alpha knew that law and if they did not than it was everyone’s fault since every Alpha who lived had the responsibility of informing and training the new Alpha as well as that Alpha’s mates.

“I see. Then it is our duty to assist our grandchildren Chief. Balachandra, you do not need to be involved in this mess if you wish to bow out. I would not hold it against you brother since last time we dealt with Lucian we barely escaped with our lives.”

Balachandra frowned at his brother.

“I will not back down from a fight. It may take all of us to stop this mess. I think it is time to awaken the others if we are preparing to battle Lucian.”

Chief frowned at that.

“No, there is no need to get the others. The three of us can handle this problem. It is best not to awaken the Ancients for such a task. We also need not use violence since that was a mistake we will not repeat again. It is best that we use logic once again to deal with our old ‘mate’.”

Chief stated. He was certain there was no Alpha who could best Lucian in a fight and that would only cause more problems than good. The Lord Lucian was not one to back down from a brawl and he always was the victor in the end.

“So are we leaving now? I am in no condition to confront an invincible demon who practically bit our heads off. I honestly believe that we must cease our drinking of whiskey tonight no matter what the Great Wolf Spirit says.”

Balachandra stated firmly as he went to pick up Chief’s bottle of Crown Royal from the floor only to have his hand slapped away.

“No Balachandra, we will plan tonight for battle. Now keep your damn hands off my whiskey while I contemplate what must be done.”

Chief headed back onto the roof much to his son’s dismay. Alistair really did not want his half naked Father chanting all night on the roof of his house. The neighbors were going to complain if he didn’t do something about his Father.

“Toga I am going to head up onto the roof again. You take control of these two crazy drunks.”

Alistair stated with a huff and he went back onto the roof to speak with his Father while at the same time praying that Chief would not start a fire on his roof to gain guidance from the spirit world.

When he got on the roof Alistair watched as his Father sat looking quite serious.

“Alistair, sit with me and let me explain what we must do and why I won’t let you two be involved in these plans I have made.”
