Sesshomaru and the Forgiving Soul

Sesshomaru set his cup down and looked over Maya.

“I know what has happened between you and Kagome.” Sesshomaru nodded. “I’m assuming that things changed a little when you found out she had a mother?”

“I will not drop my suit.” Maya nodded.

“I expected this. But I will not give my consent unless I know that she is going to be taken care of and all of her possible needs will be met.” Kagome’s mouth fell open.

“You’re really going to tell him its okay?” Sesshomaru looked sharply at Kagome.

“You will sit there and hold your tongue, Miko.” Kagome glared up at Sesshomaru.

“Okay look, I’ve been very nice this far and I’m done. I will not hold my tongue. You are a-”

“Kagome.” She looked over to her mother and swallowed. “While I don’t agree with the way Lord Sesshomaru said it, he is right. We are being very nice allowing you to stay here while we discuss this.” Kagome nodded and stared down at her lap. Kagome knew this wasn’t going to end well but she did want to here what was being said about her.

“I can give the Miko everything that she could ever want for.” Maya thought for a moment and looked at Kagome.

“What do you want Kagome?” Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru and then to her mother.

“Well, the basics are a good place to start. Food, water, shelter.” Maya gestured toward Kagome.

“I live in a palace. I have three cooks employed there and access to any kind of food she would want.” Maya nodded. “The bedrooms are lush and spacious. There are also several gardens on the palace grounds.” Maya looked to Kagome.

“I need to finish my quest.”

“I will accompany you.”

“I need to know that I’m protected.”

“I can protect you better than that half-breed.”

“I want to be able to come see my family.”

“It can be arranged.”

“And my friends?” Sesshomaru nodded.

“I also want… never mind, that’s not important.” Sesshomaru and Maya looked at Kagome. She blushed under the scrutiny.

“Kagome, we’re talking about the rest of your life. Everything is important.” Kagome shook her head.

“No, some things are a young girl’s warped fantasy about her future. They never come true.”

“Kagome, I should warn you that if this is not addressed now there is no going back once I’ve made my decision.” Kagome looked at her hands and whispered her reply. “Kagome I didn’t hear you.”

“I… I want to be loved.”

“I will not guarantee that I will love you.” Kagome nodded without looking up.

“Well, Lord Sesshomaru. I have my answer. Unless my daughter has everything that she wants I cannot allow this to happen.” Kagome looked up at her mother with wide eyes.

“What?” Maya looked at her daughter and smiled sadly.

“This Sesshomaru will not drop the suit.” Maya nodded.

“I understand that and feel free to continue to persuade her. But unless Kagome is totally happy then I forbid her to mate with you. If at a latter date Kagome feels as though you have met all of her wants and needs we will re-discuss this proposal. Excuse me.” Maya got up from the table and left the room. Kagome looked down at her hands. She could feel Sesshomaru’s eye’s boring into her head.

“This is all that you require?” Kagome nodded. Sesshomaru stood and left the room.

“What have I done?” Kagome asked herself. She buried her head in her hands and cried. She felt arms come around her and she flung herself into them and sobbed. “Momma, what have I done?” Maya held her close and let her cry. After all the tears were shed Kagome looked up to her mother and smiled softly.

“You love him, don’t you?” Maya whispered to Kagome. She nodded and let her smile fade.

“He won’t love me back. I know. I’m just a human to him.” Kagome stood and left the room to find Sesshomaru. He was standing inside the well house. As Kagome entered Sesshomaru looked at her and nodded toward the well.

“You want to go back.” Sesshomaru stepped toward her and Kagome sighed. Kagome nodded her consent and Sesshomaru wrapped his arm around her before jumping through the well. Coming out the other side Sesshomaru jumped from the well and set Kagome on the lip of the well. Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru and grew sad. He was so graceful even though he only had one arm. Suddenly Kagome brightened.

“Sesshomaru-sama, I would like to do something for you.” Sesshomaru raised his brow at her. Kagome giggled before gesturing for the Lord to sit next to her. Sesshomaru followed her command and found himself sitting on the well with a blushing Kagome between his legs. She pulled a blue gem from around her neck and showed it to him.

“This gem was another gift from Midoriko. She said that it can enhance my natural ability to heal. She told me that someone I knew was lacking something that they wished to gain back. I want to heal you with this gem.” Sesshomaru glared down at the miko.

“This Sesshomaru is not hurt and is not in need of healing.” Kagome sighed and reached for his left shoulder. Sesshomaru flinched as she touched him. She carefully drew her hand right above the end of his arm.

“You are missing something. I was responsible for taking it away. I know that you can manage fine this way but I also know that you want it back.” Kagome cupped the stump of his arm and Sesshomaru tensed. “I want to give you your arm back.”

I'm glad that you found the story so interesting. I try to upload a chapter every night. Since I'm really getting into the story it might be more than one. I did not update the other day because we had some really bad storms and I had no internet (-.- wo is me). I'm glad you enjoyed my last chapter and got the joke I put in there. I hope not to keep you waiting for more. There will be another chapter up soon.

I really enjoyed portraying Rin this way. I think that this fits a little better than how she normally is. Still the same with a little twist. Between Kagome and Sesshomaru it is sure to develop quickly so you won't have to wait long.
