Chapter 9

Inutaisha woke up to the bright rays of sunlight filtering through the trees. She had no idea when she had fallen asleep. Looking to the side she saw Kagoru sleeping soundly against her. She gently stroked his black hair softly. He blinked his eyes open slowly then smiled at her. "Good morning."

"Good morning." She replied.

"I had such a good night's sleep."

"Did you now?"

"Yes."

"So, are you ready to face everyone?" He nodded at her then smiled. "Everything will be fine." Pulling her haori off the two of them, she stood up and helped him up. After putting her haori on she looked towards the village. "Well let us go."

After about ten minutes of walking, they came upon the village. They both found their friends waiting for them. "You're back. It's good to see you two are okay." Sanga commented.

"What is your problem? You look like we've done something bad."

"Is it true?" Shippa asked.

"About what?"

"You and Kagoru mating."

"It's true." He interrupted.

"Wow." Mirra replied then grasped Inutaisha's hand. "Tell me about it."

"Mirra don't be a hentai. I only gave him my mark. I wouldn't force anyone into making love after getting my mark." Shippa jumped on Inutaisha's shoulder.

"So are you like an adopted mother now?"

Inutaisha winced. "I'm not ready for that kind of roll Shippa." Shippa jumped in Kagoru's arms then watched Inutaisha from a distance. "Where's wolfie?"

"She left to find you."

Inutaisha growled suddenly. A flash of red appeared in her eyes. "She's a fool." She instinctively flexed her claws then looked towards Inuyasha and his group as they came towards them. She suddenly calmed down at the sight of her mate shouting a hello at them.

Suddenly Kagome descended on her and pulled at her hand although it was futile because she would not budge. "Come on Inutaisha. More girl talk."

"Now?!"

"Sango and I want to know. Besides i'm sure you and Mirra could use a relaxing dip in the hot spring."

"Um Kagoru we are going to head towards the hot springs. We will be back in a bit." Inutaisha said with a wave then was led by Kagome towards the hot springs.

After finding their way to the hot springs Inutaisha watched to make sure there were no perverts then got into the water after stripping from her garmants. "So. What did you do?"

Inutaisha sighed. Humans tended to be so inquisitive. "Well I gave him my mark thats it."

"Oh bull." Mirra interrupted. "There must be more."

"Alright, we cuddled for a bit."

"You mean you didn't have sex?"

"No. That can come later."

"That's good that he agreed and wanted to be with you." Kagome commented.

Turning to Kagome she said, "Now its your turn. Fight for your man Kagome."

Kagome blushed. "I don't know if he wants me."

"Bull. I know he would want you. If he isn't going to tell you then you need to tell him."

"Right." Mirra said.

Inutaisha suddenly sat up in the water after dunking her head under the water. She sniffed the air hesitantly. "Wolfie." She said then quickly stepped out of the water and dressed. She sniffed the air again. "That had better not be Koga too."

"Koga?!" Kagome shouted then ducked her whole body underneath the water.

Inutaisha placed her hand on her sword's hilt. "Mutt, I am going to kill you!" Kimi suddenly shouted.

Inutaisha's eyes glowed red suddenly, this time no one could mistake the anger she felt for Kimi. "Back off wolf." She raised a claw in the air and flexed it menancingly. "At least let the other girls dress before we get into a full on battle."

Kimi crossed her arms then waited reluctantly as the other girls dressed hurridly. After they did Koga suddenly exited from trees. Inutaisha suddenly snarled, her eyes now gleaming red. "Mirra?" Sango suddenly asked.

"Yes?"

"How is it that she is retaining her mind? She looks like she is about to turn demon on us."

"Inutaisha can control the demon part of her only if she doesn't get raging mad. She really has to be mad for her to get out of control. Believe me it isn't pretty either." Sango nodded at her comment.

Inutaisha kept her claw raised then heard Koga say, "Come on Kagome."

"Don't Kagome. You are safe with me."

Kagome turned to Inutaisha and saw her blood red eyes. Despite the fact that she looked angry she still retained her mind and she knew who was her friend and who wasn't. "I'm perfectly safe here thanks."

"What? Are you crazy, she looks rabid!"

Kimi laughed. "She does look rabid."

Inutaisha suddenly snarled at the two of them. "You both are creeps. You act like you are better than others. You seriously aren't. I'm surprised Kagome wants to be around you when you talk like that."

"What?" Koga shouted in turn.

"You heard me Koga. Maybe Inuyasha hasn't told you but just because you are a demon doesn't make you better. It's how you act and how you treat others that defines you. Not your heritage."

"I don't see why anyone would want to be with a half-breed mutt like you." Kimi snarled at her.

Inutaisha snarled loudly. It surprised the three girls behind her. "Last time I heard wolf, Kagoru was my mate so you better keep your hands off him or I will rip your arms off. You get that. Or do I have to spell it out."

Mirra came behind her and wrapped her arms around Inutaisha's neck. Pulling off her prayer beads, she positioned her fist in front of the two wolf demons. "Inutaisha's my friend and I agree with her. You have no right to Kagoru and I will protect him as well."

"Mirra." Inutaisha said calmly.

"Yes?"

"Thanks."

"No problem." She then pulled her prayer beads back on.

"You know mutt, you are stupid. I don't see what Kagoru sees in you but he is still my man."

"Wanna bet!"

"Inutaisha! Sit girl!" Kagoru interrupted the fighting. With a mighty slam, Inutaisha fell to her knees.

"Did you have to do that?"

He knelt beside her then said, "I'm sorry. I don't want you to fight over me."

"But I have to. You're my mate." She said as she looked at him.

"If you fight then we will be wasting our time. We have to help Kagome and her friends back home."

Inutaisha nodded then stood up and turned around. "I'm through fighting with you. Kagoru is rightfully mine Kimi. You want to argue. You can wait till we defeat our enemy." Then with a tug on Kagoru's sleeve she left with him in tow. She felt a need so powerful come over her that she couldn't help to pull him with her.
