Golden Eyes

After notifying the servants to come clean up Kouga’s mess by ringing the bell, Sesshoumaru went to join his mates to discuss this whole moving to another castle business. It was after all what was best for them all and Sesshoumaru’s number one concern was his mates’ comfort.

When he arrived in the hot springs Inuyasha was asleep in Kouga’s arms.

“Is it just the heat of the water or is it us Sesshoumaru?”

Sesshoumaru looked at his little mate.

“It is his growth spurts. The heat of the water probably relaxes his muscles. He will most likely broaden out a bit and grow another few inches taller. His feet have grown again so we had to make new boots. He is almost in my size, but from what the doctors say he won’t be as tall as me due to his half demon nature.”

Kouga frowned since this meant of course Inuyasha would grow to be taller than him.

“So I will be the dwarf soon. That sucks.”

Sesshoumaru shook his head no.

“I doubt he will even reach your height since there is so much of his Mother in him. She was a rather tiny woman. Inuyasha will be no more than maybe six foot one at his tallest.”

Kouga played with the mokomoko that Inuyasha had grown.

“So what about his tail? Does it disappear like yours does on occasion?”

Sesshoumaru nodded yes in confirmation as he relaxed in the pool.

“Kouga, you didn’t tell me how the battles went. I heard from my staff, but they limit the whole story. You are a legend now so tell me your side of how you did things.”

Kouga smirked as he cleaned himself off explaining how all the battles went and how they had defeated over a thousand hiding low demons. There were very few left that would cause problems for the Western Lands.

“Well I led the men into the majority of the caves that were tunneled out by some of the rather foul smelling lower demons that were once hiding from Naraku. The mole demons were rather happy about that since the big stink bugs were taking over a lot of their territory.’
“Then we took care of a few of the nuisances that were bothering your human villages. That of course was more time consuming since the humans tried to fight us while we were trying to fight the demons with their dumb ass priests trying to exorcise us with their useless sutras. I don’t understand those bastards. You think they would be grateful, but instead they are yelling ‘be gone demons’ and cursing us when we leave after we save their dumb buts. Ingrates.”

Sesshoumaru sighed.

“As long as humans have to fear demons and each other they will constantly be hostile even towards their saviors Kouga. Humans live in fear constantly and no matter how you look at things they in being weak prey to most demons have every reason to feel as they do.”

Inuyasha stirred a bit in Kouga’s arms as Kouga shushed him gently as he pushed a few wet silvery strands of hair off of his face.

“True, but they don’t have to be so damn nasty about it. I almost couldn’t stop a few of my men from going after the humans to kill the few monks who tried to purify them. That hurts.”

Sesshoumaru shrugged.

“It is more annoying to be purified than anything. It didn’t hurt me at all to be purified it just slows me down a little. I don’t even feel the illness.”

Kouga then thought he was being a whimpering baby, but of course he didn’t have the power that Sesshoumaru carried. No one he knew carried that much power, not even Inuyasha.

“Well, not all of us are you my dearest.”

Sesshoumaru sighed as he leaned back closing his eyes.

“So you want to talk about our moving or not? I wonder still what your opinion is so that we can decide if we need to keep Inuyasha here in this gilded cage or build a new one where he has to fumble around. I know we can’t keep him cooped up forever, but I can’t fathom he is happy remaining in one place forever.”

Kouga looked down at Inuyasha.

“We can’t very well baby him forever. That would not be right.”

Sesshoumaru opened his eyes and looked down at Inuyasha frowning.

“Taking him from the Elders will be damn difficult. However he has trained enough. If he uses his counting and we create a similar environment than we can make this work I think.’
“Rin and Kagome will probably throw a fit about moving.”

Kouga snorted.

“The girls will get over it. We raised them well. I never of course thought I would be raising my damn mate.”

“You are talking to the choir again Kouga. Who do you think raised Inuyasha?”

“Fine. Have it your way.”

Both men sighed and relaxed until it was time to get ready for dinner.

Kagome and Rin were in their room giggling about the new flowers sent to Kagome’s room from Inuyasha who had been blushing like crazy. It was so damn cute, and then of course came the candy from Kouga.

“They can be so romantic at times. I wonder if Sesshoumaru-sama is going to court you too Kagome.”

Kagome sighed as she looked at her young friend who was being courted as well by Kohaku and Shippo.

“Sesshoumaru-sama will not court me Rin. That was not part of the arrangement when Inuyasha and Kouga mated him. He will choose his own female later although it is odd to be called ones female rather than one’s love. Sesshoumaru-sama has never been the real touchy feely kind of guy has he Rin?”

Rin smiled recalling her times with Sesshoumaru-sama when he was worried over her illnesses and when she almost died a few times how he held her like she was precious to him. Rin blushed at the thoughts.

“He has been ‘touchy feely’ when he feels the necessity to be so, but it is brief. Sesshoumaru-sama is not one to waste time showing such things since they are considered weaknesses in front of even ones’ own child. However, with mates he can be more so although with my Fathers they are all ones to keep to themselves around me as if to prove their strength so that we do not fear.”

Kagome placed her hand under her chin as she allowed the Ladies Maids to put all the beads in her long hair putting it up in a menagerie of braids, curls, and jeweled pins. Both Rin and Kagome looked like true Princesses with fine silk kimonos of orange and gold. They almost resembled twins.

“Soon we will be mated Rin and I will be your Mother. It is going to be strange since I always thought of you as more like a little sister. You will be courted for two hundred years and I will be mated this year. I wonder why they sped up mine and are procrastinating on yours.”

Rin shrugged. She didn’t know why herself although her marking by her Fathers had extended her life to that of their own.

“I guess it is because of your maturity Kagome. I am still very young as far as our Fathers are concerned. Shippo still has much training and after he mated Kohaku he has to train Kohaku in the ways of the demon. However, they are not fully mated yet. Our Fathers said they are too young too for the responsibilities of being mated. I was shocked that Inuyasha-sama felt that way since Shippo is an adult as far as youkai are concerned.”

Kagome sighed at that since it would have been much more fun to be mated together like they once talked about. Kagome looked at her hair and nodded her approval as the maid departed bowing low to their young charges. Soon Kagome would be a Queen so she was wearing a little make up and started to look more of a Lady than Rin who was only allowed a little lip cream to enhance her full lips.

Both young women chattered on about their future as they got up to get ready to go to dinner making certain to bring their white bone carved fans that Sesshoumaru-sama gave them last Christmas. He would be displeased if they left their chambers without them.

At the dining hall Inuyasha drummed his fingers in frustration. Why did women have to take so damn long to get ready?

“Inuyasha cease your commotion. They are not late, we are early.”

Inuyasha’s stomach was grumbling. It was one thing to wait for battle, but when it came to food Inuyasha was always ravenous and impatient.

“Sesshoumaru is right Inuyasha, besides it will be worth the wait…………”

Sesshoumaru dug his claws into Kouga’s leg to remind him that although Kouga could see the extraordinary beauty of Kagome, Inuyasha could not. To him it was just Kagome running late doing stupid women things.

“Why?”

Kouga saved himself by thinking quick on his feet.

“Well, because we are having steaks tonight.”

Sesshoumaru frowned.

“We are not. We are going to have roasted boar filled with fruits and vegetables from the gardens since it is Friday. We do this every Friday.”

Inuyasha grumbled. He hated it when they were a day away from Steak Night.

“Oh ya, I forgot. Well then there ain’t nothing great happening except the company of two……..wow.”

Kouga’s jaw fell open at the sight of his and Inuyasha’s future mate.

“Sesshoumaru explain the wolf before I have to strangle the life out of him. The asshole can never finish a full sentence at dinner time.”

Sesshoumaru explained what Kagome was wearing and how she looked. Inuyasha shrugged.

“So what’s the big whoop? Doesn’t she always look like that lately?”

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes as he bid Inuyasha to stand and Kouga too stood as the Ladies entered the room. After they were seated everyone sat down. Kagome was next to Inuyasha and he could smell lavender on her.

“So you decided to humor me by sitting next to me tonight woman. Good, now we can eat and you can tell me what took ya so damn long.”

Kagome sighed and wanted to smack the hell out of Inuyasha.

“You were early Inuyasha. They are on time as I stated before so don’t complain. You are getting your own boar tonight since tomorrow is your birthday. Now apologize to your female.’
“Both of my young Ladies look very fetching tonight. I am pleased.”

Sesshoumaru stated smacking Inuyasha on the back of the head for being rude. Inuyasha pouted rubbing the back of his head.

Kagome and Rin blushed a bit at the compliment. Sesshoumaru of course gave them such often though. He also saw them both as his children and was rather unsure about allowing his males to mate Kagome. It would indeed complicate some things, but he kept reminding himself that Kagome was soon to be an adult and was not of his own blood.

“Kagome……….would you like me to pour you some sake?”

Kouga asked practically drooling at the cleavage Kagome’s kimono showed. The young woman had the most ample perfect man hand sized breasts. He was drowning and wanted to take her as his mate soon. It was Sesshoumaru who kept giving Kouga dirty looks as if to get his eyes to look anywhere else.

“Kouga, she is a bit young still for that so do not inebriate her. Kagome, you may have some of the fresh juice from our vineyard. The servants have been crushing grapes all morning since our crops have grown so plentiful so your and Rin’s opinion would please them greatly since they had done this for you both.”

The young women smiled and agreed that would be best as Kouga sat pouting a bit. How was he to court his future female mate if Sesshoumaru kept babying the girls?

“She is old enough for sake.”

Kouga grumbled. Inuyasha huffed.

“Ya, right. You haven’t ever seen a drunken Kagome. I remember a mountain where the woman wouldn’t shut up and kept singing on her hair brush. Then Sango tried to come onto me and I got sat for it. Like I wanted her to damn….”

Kagome sighed.

“I apologized for that and so did Sango. Didn’t I even get you extra ramens?”

Inuyasha grasped Kagome’s hand.

“Ya. Still wolf you ain’t gonna hit on Kagome all night while I am here. I got her to finally sit by me instead of them sitting at the end of the table with the children. It is my turn to court my woman you creep. I knew her first.”

Kagome smiled and kissed Inuyasha on the cheek while Kouga sulked.

“So when is she gonna sit next to me?”

Sesshoumaru frowned since he was still not sure why he allowed the females to be moved. He didn’t like Kouga’s lecherous looks at his girl or Inuyasha even getting that kiss. As far as Sesshoumaru was concerned Kagome was growing up too damn fast.

“Tomorrow she can sit between you both, if you both can keep your hands as well as other parts to yourselves. I will not have my girls manhandled or ogled at my table even by their future mates. It is inappropriate until you are mated. Kagome I must ask you and Rin to once again sit with the little ones since these males do not have manners.”

“What! We are just holding hands damn it all!”

Inuyasha sputtered out as Kagome nodded sadly leaving Inuyasha and the others with Rin to the far end of the table where their young cousins sat.

“You are not to even touch your future mate until you are mated Inuyasha unless it is not in a possessive manner. I will not have the two of you fighting over Kagome when you both know you will be allowed to mate her. You will speak civilly at this table and show me that all that training did not go to waste.”

As Inuyasha finally received his meal he felt so unhappy about having Kagome moved he almost wasn’t hungry, but that didn’t last. The hanyou could not refuse a good meal and Kouga was the same way. Both ate like gluttons, but for once Sesshoumaru could see some manners in their feasting since it was not all over the place. They just ate fast using utensils properly and even utilizing their claws to slice through meat getting very little on clothing or on their bodies like they used to when they first moved into the castle.

“It seems not only my girls are growing up.”

Sesshoumaru thought to himself. He was both pleased and a little sad. Would he ever find his own female so that he could move past being a Father figure to even his mates and perhaps be a real Father to his own pups? Only time would tell.
