A/N: I know I've been slow in the updating, but there is no way I'm going to abandon this story. For those of you that have been waiting, here you go! And thank you for all the reviews, they're what really keeps me going. Well, and the fact that plot bunnies build up worse than dust bunnies do! Lol!

Chapter 10 ~ Teaser

Glowing red eyes snapped open as the connection was broken. Inuyasha could actually feel his fangs lengthen as rage flooded his body in a tidal wave of power, Naraku was in the room. His lips curled into a feral grin. He needed someone to slaughter and it was always nice to find a volunteer waiting. Claws swung in a fatal arc, only to stop short at the face of a small, silver haired girl.

“I don’t know what you’ve been told, but this ain’t a playground, princess.”

“The others are coming for you?” She asked.

“I smell Naraku, and small don’t equal harmless in this world. How about you tell me why I should talk to you and not smear you into that wall over there.”

Her head came up and he looked into dead eyes, the kind of eyes that barely held on to a scrap of soul, and shivered. Those eyes made him cold inside.

“There is no reason to fear me, half-demon. My sister and I have been slaves to the monster for far longer than most. Death is our only freedom. I merely offer what little protection I can provide and knowledge. Do the others come for you?”

“How do you know that anyone is coming for me at all? Or is this the common theme around here?”

“I can feel the connection you have and have hidden it from Him. If there is a connection, there is hope. Isn’t that enough, warrior?”

“I don’t trust anyone down here.”

“Very well, each chooses his own path. Tell the others in order to kill Naraku, they must destroy the heart.”

“What kind of mumbo-jumbo bullshit is that?”

“His soul is separated, a desperate move made by one determined to preserve his power. You could kill any of the seven and he will not die. The originator’s heart is the key to his destruction.” The air around her wavered and shimmered as she disappeared.

“This is the reason that all oracles and anything resembling and oracle should be de-tongued on sight.” He sighed. “First they take years to say something they could cram into one sentence, then they torture you by makin you figure out what they could just tell you!”

He punched a wall and watched the stone crack, “You better have something useful the next time, princess, or I’m gonna give you the freedom you seem to be askin for. At least it got rid of my hard on.” He grumbled.

Leaning against the wall he sank down. This whole thing was far more complicated than he was used to. Demons were fairly straight forward for the most part and all these intrigues were giving him a headache. Now that he was conscious the golden thread connecting him to the most important parts of his life was gone, and wasn’t that depressing as fuck?

What did an insane demon, a mouthy brat and another horny one have in common? They all equaled Inuyasha’s bad freakin day.
