Chapter 10

Many days past and Saskai had locked himself up in his room. When ever some one knocked on his door he would just tell them to go away. Rin was getting rather worried she had no idea why her son was acting this way. Horai tried many times to ask Saskai to let him in but he would just get told to leave him alone. Sesshomaru just didn’t care one way or another he just thought his son was acting rather childish.

“Sesshomaru you have to do something he has been caged up in his room for days with out even eating anything and I’m worried” Rin told him. “If he wants to stay locked up that’s fine with me” Sesshomaru replied. “Please dear cant you do something” she asked him, Sesshomaru looked up at his mate. He could see the concern in Rin’s eyes he stood up and headed to Saskai’s room.

Saskai leaned against his window looking out to the dark night with only the moon shining upon the land. He heard a knock he already knew it was his father because he had smelt his scent coming from the hall way. “Saskai open the door” Sesshomaru told him from outside his chambers. The door didn’t open for him and this was deffiently getting on his nerves. Sesshomaru did the only thing he could think of he banged the door open breaking the lock.

Saskai quickly turned around when he heard his father bang through the door. Sesshomaru stood their in the door way looking at his son. Saskai looked away he knew that his father was not impressed on how he was behaving. “Your mother is worried” was all Sesshomaru had to say at that moment. “I apologise”, “are you apologising for your mother or are you apologising for acting like a child locking yourself up in here” Sesshomaru asked him.

“I just need some time to myself that’s all” Saskai told him “I see and tell why you need time to yourself” Sesshomaru asked him. Saskai walked over to the broken mirror “father do you think I’m a monster” he asked him. When Sesshomaru heard that coming from his sons mouth he didn’t know what to say. “Why would you think that Saskai” he asked his son “because that’s what I am, I just have to look at myself and I know that deep inside me is killer waiting to be released, don’t think I haven’t forgotten about that incident when I was a kid I killed three people without any remorse” Saskai said.

“You where young you didn’t know how to control your power” Sesshomaru told him, “that is no excuse” Saskai replied. “Then what are you going to do about it” Sesshomaru asked him “I think that I should leave the castle for awhile to straight myself out” he said. “If that is what you want then I cant stop you” Sesshomaru then started to head to the door. “Father, thankyou” Sesshomaru just nodded and walked of.

During the middle of the night Saskai thought it would be better if he left without saying goodbye to Horai. If he did he would probably have to explain to him why he was leaving and he didn’t want to do that. Saskai packed a few things and left his room he headed down to his brothers. Horai was asleep he walked over to his younger brothers bed and looked at him. “Forgive me” he said in a mere whisper, he then left the castle without even leaving a note.

He took one last look of his home knowing that he wouldn’t be returning for a while. He headed into the forest never seen of again until his return.

When Horai found out that his brother had left with out even saying goodbye he was devastated. He wasn’t just sad but he was angry as well, Rin was crying in her and Sesshomaru’s chambers. Sesshomaru was trying to calm her down, Horai saw how sad his mother was from the doorway. “Horai go to your room” Sesshomaru told him knowing he was their even though his back was facing the door.

Horai ran to his room and slammed the door behind him, “how could you just walk out like that you said you will always be there for me you promised” he fell to his knees. His sad face soon changed into a really angry one. “I will never forgive you Saskai never” he said to himself, he then punched his fist into the floor.

A month had passed since Saskai left and Horai had completely changed. He wasn’t that fun and happy boy anymore. Now he focused everything on his combat, he would mainly just keep to himself. It was tearing Rin apart first her eldest son left and she had no idea when he would be coming back and now her youngest son was pushing her away.

Now that Saskai was gone the castle seemed rather empty and quiet, it was as if something had died. Sesshomaru just did what he normally does, stays in his study and goes on his patrols along his land. Sometimes he thought he might find Saskai when he would go on one of his patrols with Jaken but their was no sign of him. He couldn’t even detect his sons scent anywhere but he did tell his son he could do what ever he wants and if this is what he chose then Sesshomaru wont stop him.

Saskai was sitting a top a hill over the last month he had travelled quite far he was now no longer in the western lands. He had been faced against many demons which he had been able to kill quite easily. He would always train himself with his sword and would kill any who where in his way. Saskai didn’t care anymore that he was taking lives from either demons or humans he just did it to survive. He knew that Horai must be real mad at him and probably hated him for leaving. Saskai didn’t blame his brother if that was so no he blamed himself he would always feel a pain of guilt leaving his younger brother. Unfortunately he had no choice had had to get away before he would completely lose himself.

He wouldn’t go back home until he knew he was ready to face his family again.

Meanwhile back at the castle Horai was training he hadn’t stopped training after breakfast and it was already the afternoon. He decided to finish of for the day, Rin came out and saw his son packing up. “Horai would you like something to eat” she asked him with a smile on her face “no thanks” and he walked straight past her. Rin just stood their a single tear rolling down the side of her face.

Sesshomaru had seen the whole scene between his mate and their youngest son from the window. He could tell that Rin was still upset and he didn’t know what to do about it. It would only take time until she would be herself again. Since Saskai left Sesshomaru had taken Tisa down to a village and asked a human couple if they could take care of her. The couple seemed nice enough and they didn’t have any children so they accepted.

Since then he would go down their to check up on her and she seemed happy which was good. He knew that since things back at the castle weren’t going all that well with his family he couldn’t look after her.

He wasn’t sure how long it would be until Saskai would come back he just hoped it will be soon.
