Chapter 10: Sesshy Jealous? Naraku SEXY???WOAH!!
Chapter 10: Sesshoumaru Jealous?Naraku SEXY???WOAH!!!!1
Kagome quickly ran from the school with tears streaming down her cheeks. Sesshoumaru’s words had cut her to the core, ripping away what few dreams she had. She knew she wasn’t the prettiest girl in school and hadn’t really started thinking about her appearance until just the past year.
‘Damn it!’ she screamed silently. ‘Just once I’d like something to go my way. He didn’t have any right to talk down to me like that. What did I ever do to him?’
She ran into the park and headed toward the thick cluster of trees toward the back of the acreage. She had run hard enough that her chest was burning and it hurt to breathe but she didn’t stop. Finally she came to a tiny structure that she’d helped Inu Yasha build as children. This was their fort, their castle, whatever they wanted it to be. Since starting high school Kagome had come here sometimes to forget the pain of being made fun of by her best friend. Rickety as it was, for Kagome it was a place where she felt safe from the outside world.
Walking up to the fort, she pushed aside the door, which was nothing more than a piece of plywood propped up against the building. Inside was a bunch of old but comfortable cushions, a small box that sometimes served as a table and storage bin, a sleeping bag and a pillow.
Plopping down on the open sleeping bag, she opened the box and took out an old doll; one of the last gifts she’d received from Inu Yasha. Placing the doll in her lap, she took off her book bag and set it aside. Taking the doll back into her arms, she hugged it tight and gingerly leaned against wall behind her. The fort started to lean to the side a bit from her weight resting on it and she quickly sat up. Tears fell again and she hid her face in the doll’s hair. Falling over onto the pillow she curled up into a ball, sobbing her pain and disappointment.

Sesshoumaru had lagged behind, following Kagome at a distance. He didn’t understand why he’d followed the girl to this remote area of the park. Inu Yasha had brought him here once when they were still in grade school to show him some industrial marvel the hanyou had built with Kagome’s help. Sesshoumaru remembered not being that impressed with it and declined their invitation to play with them.
The inu frowned at the memory and pushed it to the back of his mind. Walking through the trees he easily found the path Kagome had taken by following her scent and footprints. His sharp ears twitched when he heard noises coming from directly ahead of him. He spotted the squat structure and approached silently making sure not to step on anything that would alert the girl.
His stoic countenance didn’t waver on the outside when he heard Kagome crying from within the fort. He felt the sudden urge to storm inside and throttle the girl for making so much noise. Sesshoumaru knew he could be very cold but he still didn’t like to see the tears of any female; nor did he enjoy hearing evidence of them. It then dawned on him that it wasn’t just his words that had affected her; they were the truth and she didn’t want to accept it.
Sesshoumaru waited until Kagome’s crying became soft sniffles before approaching the makeshift door. Pulling it aside, he stared into the small space a moment before entering. Kagome glanced up at him a moment before turning her face into the pillow. Sesshoumaru kneeled on one of the cushions and reached inside his uniform jacket to get a handkerchief. Kagome shook her head to decline and sat up. Unzipping her back pack he was a bit surprised to see her take out an entire box of tissues.
Kagome quickly took out a few tissues and dried her tears before blowing her nose in as lady like a manner as possible, which wasn’t easy to do. When she finally looked up at Sesshoumaru again she could have sworn she saw laughter in his golden orbs. She had to admit that she probably did look a little funny with her red nose and eyes. That didn’t help her forget how harshly he’d spoken to her at school.
“Why aren’t you still at school?” she asked softly.
Sesshoumaru placed the handkerchief back in his pocket. “The bell had sounded when you fled the grounds. It was too late for this Sesshoumaru to appear in class so I followed.”
“Oh,” Kagome whispered. For a moment she thought that maybe he was sorry for the way he’d treated her. Grabbing a couple more tissues she pressed them to her eyes trying to keep herself from crying again.
Sesshoumaru took a deep breath and silently exhaled. He watched while she tried keeping herself under control. Humans were so emotional but he was starting to realize that perhaps there was a reason for it in Kagome. She suddenly laughed softly and looked up at him once more making the inu confused about her emotions.
“What is it you find so amusing?” he demanded.
“We just skipped school.” Kagome said still smiling. “I’ve never skipped school in my life.”
Sesshoumaru set his shoulder bag aside and arched an eyebrow. “That is very commendable unfortunately your scholastic achievement does not mirror this. Luckily I have the lesson plan for the next few days.”
Sesshoumaru’s long fingers released the clasp on his bag and opened it. Kagome sighed and pulled her book bag toward her; she should have known Sesshoumaru would ‘play school’. The thought almost made her laugh but she didn’t think the inu youkai would take kindly to it. Following his lead, she took out her math book and glared at it before opening it to what would have been taught in class.

Sango was in a panic by the end of the day and Miroku’s attempts at calming her down were becoming redundant.
“I don’t want to make Mrs. Higurashi worry,” Sango said. “But we’ll have to tell her something.”
Miroku shook his head and gently grabbed Sango by the shoulders. “Sango, we know Naraku didn’t do anything, he was in class all day.”
“He could have done something when he and Kagome walked off together this morning.” Sango exclaimed.
“For once that asshole didn’t do anything.” Inu Yasha said from a few feet away.
Sango and Miroku looked over at the hanyou who was leaning against the large fence with his arms crossed over his chest.
“Do you know where she is?” Sango asked.
Inu Yasha snorted, “She ran out the back gate after Sesshoumaru interrupted a heated lip lock with Naraku.”
“Now that I think of it,” Miroku started. “Sesshoumaru wasn’t in any of his classes today either.”
“He followed her.” Inu Yasha said then smirked. “That stupid fat ass thinks Naraku likes her. Who the hell would want to hang out with her much less date her?”
Sango saw red, “Look here you jackass-“
She suddenly spun around and slapped Miroku across the face when she felt a hand squeeze her bottom.
“Don’t ever grab my ass again you pervert!” she yelled and stomped away.
Inu Yasha chuckled, “Serves you right!”
Miroku turned back to Inu Yasha and rubbed his cheek yet his expression was serious. “I don’t think I’ll ever understand you Inu Yasha. You ask who would want to hang out with or even date Kagome. I remember a time when our classmates thought the same thing about you. Kagome was the only one with enough heart to approach and attempt being your friend when we were children.”
“Spare me the speech,” Inu Yasha exclaimed.
“I really have no desire speak with you either. You truly are a hypocrite to turn your back on such a loving creature such as Kagome. She has done nothing by try to remain your friend and be herself; which you told her just a few short years ago it was one of many things that made you like her so much. If I truly believed you hated me enough that you wouldn’t piss on me if I were on fire if for no other reason but to acknowledge my existence I would have turned my back on you a long time ago. Unfortunately Kagome is not like that. You were her best friend and one of the very few that truly understood her. If you cannot see the gift that is standing right in front of you then you are no better than Naraku.” Miroku responded before walking away from the shocked hanyou.
He found Sango sitting on a bench at the bus stop tapping her foot.
“He’s so fucking arrogant.” Sango exclaimed loudly. “Why in the world does she think he’s still her friend with the way he talks about her and treats her?”
Miroku sighed and sat down next to the brown haired angel, for once not bothering to grope Sango. “You know our Kagome; she’s always tried to see the best in everyone. It’s just not in her nature to hate. She thinks everyone deserves a chance and thinks that because someone doesn’t like her she’s done something to them.”
Sango sighed and shook her head. “Is the world really full of that many assholes? How could anyone not like Kagome?”
“Unfortunately our society has the perfect image of how a person should look.” Miroku said softly. “A lot of them have depicted individuals such as Kagome who is overweight as the wrong way to look.”
Sango looked up at him, “Were you serious when you said you’d date Kagome?”
Miroku smiled, “If I had not met you first and knew her as I did now I would.”
“So her weight doesn’t bother you?” Sango asked.
“It never has,” Miroku admitted. “Some men like big girls. I just happen to be one of those that like both.”
Sango seemed to take some comfort from his words and sighed again. “I’m just worried about her. Now that I know Sesshoumaru went after her I feel a little better I just wish I knew where she was.”
At that moment a sleek black car roared to a stop in front of them and the front passenger window rolled down. Kagome crossed her arms on the edge of the window and grinned at them.
“Come on, Sesshoumaru’s taking me back to my place.” Kagome exclaimed. “He’s offered to take you too.”
Sango and Miroku stood up and rushed to the car doors before the inu youkai could change his mind, quickly settling themselves in the backseat. At that moment Inu Yasha stalked up to the passenger door and glared at Kagome, who shrank back in the seat.
“You better get in the back fat ass.” Inu Yasha growled.
“Perhaps it is you that should sit in the back.” Sesshoumaru stated. “That is where mutts usually ride anyway.”
“Strap him to the roof.” Sango muttered angrily.
“What was that bitch?” Inu Yasha demanded loudly.
Sesshoumaru sighed, “I am taking Kagome home.”
Inu Yasha’s expression fell, “How the hell am I supposed to get home you asshole?”
“Take the bus.” Sesshoumaru drawled before speeding away and leaving Inu Yasha standing on the curb.

Kagura slowly walked into the house, quickly checking to make sure Naraku wasn’t home before ushering Kanna and Shippou upstairs. She’d gone back to school to get Kanna after classes let out and ran into Shippou on the way. The red head had immediately started harping about the bruises on her face but Kagura brushed it off saying she’d gotten into a fight and skipped the rest of the day. Luckily, between Shippou and Kanna, they had all the homework that needed to be done so Kagura got lucky in that department.
They made it up to Kagura’s room and sighed in relief when they concluded that no one was home yet. Shippou looked around the room and smiled at the sky blue and green décor Kagura had decorated with.
“I’ve always liked this room.” Shippou said.
“That’s because it’s my bedroom.” Kagura smiled.
Shippou rolled his eyes, “Oh yeah, my ultimate goal in life was to finally see the inside of a girl’s bedroom and learn its secrets.”
Kanna giggled softly, her cheeks turning a slight pink. “Perhaps you should go to prom together.”
Shippou and Kagura paled and stared at the small silver haired girl.
“Say what?” Kagura asked.
Kanna shrugged, “Go to prom together. Neither one of you have dates so what better than to go together so you’re not sitting there feeling out of place.”
Shippou quirked an eyebrow and looked at Kagura who was blushing even redder.
“What color is your dress?” he asked seriously.
Kagura blinked at him in surprise before swallowing. “Uh…um…red and white.”
Shippou kneeled down on one knee in front of her and took her hands in his. “Would you like to go to the prom with me?”
Kagura couldn’t help it and started laughing. “You are a total nutzoid.”
“Is that a yes?” Shippou asked.
“Yes,” Kagura shouted still laughing.
“Now that’s settled,” Kanna said with a smile. “Let’s get this homework done so we can have some fun.”
They had settled down on the floor and Shippou was telling Kagura what they’d covered in history class when the door slammed downstairs. Angry stomping up the stairs told them all Naraku was home. Kagura jumped when Naraku flung her bedroom door open and glared at them all.
“I was unaware you were having company over.” Naraku stated.
Kagura shrugged, “I needed to get homework. I skipped classes today then went back to get Kanna after the last bell rang.”
Naraku’s eyes shifted to Shippou who was looking at him with a blank expression.
“So kitsune,” Naraku began conversationally, leaning against the doorway. “Have you a date for the prom?”
“I asked your sister less than an hour ago and she accepted.” Shippou answered in the same tone.
Naraku quirked an eyebrow, “I see! So you didn’t work up the nerve to ask Hiten.”
Kagura sighed and lowered her head. “I asked him this morning, he said no.”
Naraku snorted, “Of course he did.”
“I think you and Kagome are going to look lovely together.” Kanna said softly looking up at her brother.
Naraku smirked, the expression actually cocky rather than malicious. “Yes we will!” He pushed away from the door, “You may continue with your homework.”
“That was strange.” Kagura said with a frown.
“Don’t dwell on it.” Shippou said. “Let’s get our homework done then I’ll take you ladies for some ice cream.”

Miroku and Sango were surprised when Sesshoumaru dropped them off first before taking Kagome home.
“You don’t suppose that Sesshoumaru might like Kagome do you?” Sango asked.
Miroku frowned and looked down the now empty street as if he could still see Sesshoumaru’s car in the distance. “For once Sango I don’t really know.”
***
Kagome smiled when Sesshoumaru stopped at the bottom of the steps leading up to the shrine.
“Thanks for bringing me home Sesshoumaru, you didn’t have to.” She said.
“It is of no bother.” Sesshoumaru responded. “We will skip our session today due to the unusual circumstances.”
Kagome nodded and sighed, “Well, I guess I’ll see you later then.” She opened the door and started to get out when a hand on her wrist stopped her. Looking over her shoulder at him she cocked her head to the side. “Was there something else?”
Sesshoumaru suddenly placed a cell phone in her hand. “My number is in the memory.”
Kagome looked at the phone when he released her and knew why he’d given it to her. “I don’t really think this is necessary-“
Sesshoumaru wouldn’t look at her. “Take it for no other reason but to ease my conscience. I do not trust Naraku and would…be more at ease if you had a way to contact someone should the need arise.”
Kagome sighed and wrapped her fingers around the device then looked up at him. “All right, to make you happy.”
Sesshoumaru was taken aback by her choice of words but snorted and muttered something about human sentiment. Kagome just shook her head and giggled before getting out of the car. She watched as Sesshoumaru drove out of sight before heading up the steps. When she reached the top she blinked in surprise, she wasn’t as winded as she normally was. Shrugging, she headed inside and met her mom in the kitchen.
“How was school today dear?” Mrs. Higurashi asked.
Kagome’s face dropped, knowing she would have to tell her the truth.
Mrs. Higurashi turned around and frowned at her. “I already know you didn’t go today. Where did you go?”
Kagome sighed, “Sesshoumaru and I had a disagreement and I ran off. He followed me and we spent the day in the park doing nothing but studying.”
Mrs. Higurashi nodded her head and smiled. “Sesshoumaru called just before you came in and told me the two of you had a day long study session. I just wanted to know if you would tell me the truth.”
Kagome set her bag down and gave her mom a hug. “Thanks Mom! Oh, that reminds me. I got asked out on a date by Naraku today. He wants me to call him.”
“Then go and call him,” Mrs. Higurashi beamed.
Kagome nodded and raced upstairs. Reaching her room, she tossed her school bag on the floor at the foot of her bed and unzipped the pocket where she’d placed Naraku’s number. Picking up her pink portable phone, she hesitantly dialed the number. Butterflies started fluttering in her stomach when she heard it ringing.
“Hello,” Naraku’s voice answered after the fourth ring.
“Naraku?” Kagome asked quietly.
“Ah, Kagome,” Naraku purred. “You are calling much earlier than expected.”
Kagome smiled, “Sesshoumaru called off the study session today so I’ve got tonight and the whole weekend.”
Naraku chuckled, “Is that an invitation to spend the weekend together Kagome? We haven’t even been on our first date yet.”
Kagome choked and blushed, “I was just saying that we have the whole weekend to spend on our date-I mean-“
“I understood what you meant Kagome,” Naraku said smoothly. “However, I would prefer if we could have our engagement this evening. There’s a party being thrown at a friend’s house and I would like you to accompany me.”
Kagome blinked in surprise, “You’re inviting me to a party? Other people are going to see us together?”
“Yes to both questions.” Naraku said with amusement in his voice. “I will be by to pick you up at five. Oh, and Kagome,”
Kagome sat up a bit straighter. “Yes?”
“Jeans would be considered appropriate.”
Kagome swallowed and opened her mouth to say good bye when the phone clicked indicating he’d hung up. Glancing at the clock she realized that she had just enough time to grab a shower and get ready.
***
Naraku closed his cell phone and grinned wickedly. He had the girl right in the palm of his hands and she didn’t even realize it. When she failed to show up for classes he knew that inu had done something to keep her out of school as he had vanished as well.
‘No matter,’ he thought to himself and tossed off the towel he’d wrapped around himself after his shower.
Walking nude across his bedroom, Naraku opened the walk in closet and quickly selected something he was sure would have the pathetic girl tripping over herself around him. He slipped into a pair of black jeans and threw on a long sleeved dark purple shirt. Rolling up the sleeves to just below his elbows, he buttoned up the shirt leaving the top two buttons undone to show off the black widow pendant he’d purchased just a few weeks prior. A black studded band went around his right wrist and he pulled on a pair of black motorcycle boots. Taking up the brush, he tended to his long silky locks, pulling the longer strands away from his face and into a tail at the crown of his head. The rest of his hair spilled down his back and over his shoulders, barely brushing his ass.
Glancing at the clock when he was done he smiled when he saw Kagome had half an hour to be ready. It had taken him nearly an hour to get ready himself. Taking up his black denim jacket, he slung it over one shoulder before stepping outside. Scowling momentarily at the bright sunny day, he climbed into his black Eclipse. Pulling out of the driveway, he tore off down the street at top speed.

Inu Yasha trudged into the house cursing the very day Sesshoumaru had been conceived and collapsed face first on the couch in the living room. After Sesshoumaru had left him standing there Inu Yasha had tried calling in every favor he had but no one seemed to be answering. It wasn’t until he was nearly home that he remembered everyone was supposed to meet at Hakudoshi’s for a party that night. Everyone had been invited, well anyone with as much power and prestige as you could get in high school.
Inu Yasha sighed and buried his face in the couch. He knew he should get ready but he was so comfortable he didn’t feel like moving at the moment. The couch suddenly tipped forward and Inu Yasha rolled into the floor with a yelp. Sitting up he glared at Sesshoumaru before jumping to his feet.
“What the hell was that for?” Inu Yasha demanded.
“I decided to add injury to insult.” Sesshoumaru said crossing his arms over his chest. “The insult was leaving you standing on the curb ‘holding your dick’ I believe the phrase is.”
Inu Yasha’s glare intensified. “I can’t believe you would give that fat tub of shit a ride home before me!”
Sesshoumaru arched an eyebrow. “Is that so? I can think of a few reasons to take her home instead of your half blood self.”
“Is that so?” Inu Yasha demanded, imitating his half brother.
“She is a better conversationalist, her scent is much more pleasant and she does not complain.” Sesshoumaru answered.
“What could that bitch have to complain about?” Inu Yasha asked.
“Plenty,” Sesshoumaru said and left the room.
Inu Yasha frowned before sighing and headed up to his room. The phone rang right when he passed by and snatched it up.
“Taisho residence,” he growled.
“Hey Inu,” Kikyou purred on the other end of the line.
“Hey Kik’ babe, what’s up?” Inu Yasha asked leaning against the wall.
“Manten is giving us a ride to Hakudoshi’s, want us to come pick you up?”
Inu Yasha grinned, “Sure, I’ll be ready. You wearing that hot little dress you bought the other day?”
“And nothing else.” Kikyou promised.
Inu Yasha rubbed the front of his pants inwardly groaning at the bulge starting to form. “Can’t wait.”
He hung up and raced upstairs to get ready; ignoring the questioning look his father sent him on the way.
Sugimi Inu Taisho shook his head and stepped into his study to go over some contracts for the latest product line of his company. He frowned when he saw Sesshoumaru sitting on the window sill with his arms crossed over his chest and his brow furrowed in deep thought.
“What troubles you Sesshoumaru?” Inu asked placing the paperwork on his desk.
“I am not sure Father,” Sesshoumaru answered. “I am feeling…concerned for a fellow classmate and am not sure why.”
Inu Taisho sat down in his chair and crossed his legs, his arms resting comfortably on the chair arms.
“Is he in some sort of trouble?” he asked.
Sesshoumaru shifted his shoulders just a bit and didn’t answer.
A knowing twinkle appeared in Inu Taisho’s eyes. “I see; the classmate is a female.”
“Yes.” Sesshoumaru murmured.
“Who is this classmate? She must be very special if she had caused this sort of reaction from you.”
“Kagome,” Sesshoumaru answered still not looking away from the window.
Inu Taisho smiled, “Kagome Higurashi, such a sweet girl. What has she done to get into trouble?”
“I am bothered by her safety.” Sesshoumaru admitted.
“Has someone harmed her in some way?” Inu Taisho asked, his smile vanishing in an instant. He’d always had a soft spot for the Higurashi family and remembered the sweet smiles Kagome used to give him when she’d come over to visit Inu Yasha.
Sesshoumaru turned his gaze to the floor and frowned. “She has allowed another to escort her on an outing.”
Inu Taisho almost chuckled but refrained. “You mean someone asked her out on a date.”
“Yes and I have my reservations about the one who has done so.” Sesshoumaru said. “He is not for her.”
“I think that’s something Kagome needs to decide for herself.” Inu Taisho said softly. “I do hope you don’t make the mistake of trying to tell her otherwise.”
Sesshoumaru growled, “The male kissed her behind the school today and I was a reluctant witness to it.”
“You should have walked away then.” Inu Taisho responded.
“He intends to harm her Father; I could not allow it to continue. I made them end the kiss by pulling her out of his arms.”
Inu Taisho winced, “I do hope it wasn’t her first kiss.”
Sesshoumaru looked up at his father and blinked in confusion. Inu Taisho’s eyes widened and he paled slightly.
“You interrupted a first kiss?” he asked in shock.
Sesshoumaru actually smiled, “She was amusingly upset.”
Inu Taisho shook his head and sighed. “If your mother were alive I would have you ask her but a female’s first kiss is very important to them. Your mother explained it to me once. To a woman it is a feeling of beauty; for that one instant they feel beautiful, wanted for who they are not what. If you found her anger amusing then I don’t feel sorry for you if or when she finally exacts her revenge.”
Sesshoumaru snorted, “She can do nothing to me if she tried.”
“You’d be surprised at what a woman is capable of.” Inu Taisho whispered forebodingly and glanced at the portrait of Sesshoumaru’s mother hanging high on the far wall. “They come out of nowhere and steal your sanity. Before you know it you’re standing beneath their windows and howling ballads of long ago wars that you swear you fought just to stand by their side.”
“Ah yes,” Sesshoumaru said with a smirk and looked up at his father. “The infamous ‘Ballad of the Stomped Tail’.”
Inu Taisho glared, “I did not sound like someone had stomped on my tail!”
“Mother said you did.” Sesshoumaru stated and quickly moved to avoid the office catalogue thrown at him.
“So,” Inu Taisho continued, his playfulness gone. “Are you concerned for Kagome because another male has asked her on a date or is it for other reasons?”
Sesshoumaru frowned, “I do not understand. What other reasons are you speaking of?”
Inu Taisho leaned back in his chair and pressed the tips of his claws together. “Well Sesshoumaru, the way I’m seeing it if I didn’t know better I would swear that you were jealous.”
Sesshoumaru snorted again and gave his father an incredulous look. “Jealous? Do not play games such as this father. I do not feel jealousy toward Kagome’s date.” The last word was laced with venom.
“And why wouldn’t you feel jealous? Kagome is a very lovely young woman.”
“She is human.” Sesshoumaru growled before leaving the den, slamming the door behind him on the way out.
Inu Taisho smirked; oh yes, his son was most definitely jealous even if he didn’t realize it yet.

Kagome had just put the finishing touches on her outfit and was doing a quick five minute makeup job when the doorbell rang. She nearly jumped out of her skin and started moving a bit faster to finish getting ready. She’d found a pair of blue jeans that were comfortable but didn’t hug her too tight and a pretty dark green shirt with a scooped neck. The green material of the shirt shimmered gold in the light of her bedroom accented by a necklace that had been given to her by her grandmother. It was a locket that had her father’s picture in it.
Putting the finishing touches on the light pink eye shadow, she coated her lips with a thin layer of pink lip gloss before taking up her jacket. Her identification was in her back pocket along with a bit of cash for an emergency. Putting on the jacket she glanced at the cell phone laying on the bed before walking out of the room without it.
On her way down the stairs she paused when she heard Naraku’s voice speaking with her mother.
“I want her in by eleven,” Mrs. Higurashi was saying. “I know that might seem early but she’s my baby girl.”
Kagome blushed and wished the floor would open up and swallow her whole.
“Have no fear Mrs. Higurashi,” Naraku responded. “I will have her home in plenty of time.”
Kagome took a deep breath and walked the rest of the way down the stairs into the living room. Her eyes were impossibly large when she got a good look at Naraku. He looked like the ultimate bad boy, sexy as hell and more confident than Narcissus in all his beauty.
“Kagome,” Naraku said and smiled at her. “You look perfect.”
Kagome blushed again before walking over to her mom to give her a hug.
“Remember, eleven on the dot.” Mrs. Higurashi warned.
“I’ll remember.” Kagome said before walking over to Naraku.
The dark hanyou put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her against his side. “Shall we?”
“Y-yeah, sure.” Kagome said brightly and let Naraku lead her out of the house.

***
***
