August Ch. 10 - Meet The Parent

Kouga and I had already showered and gotten dressed from our adventure between the sheets by the time his phone rang. It was close to five o'clock in the afternoon and we were watching a movie in his room, the large entertainment center was especially rockin' with the surround sound and the flat screen television. Kouga reached over and answered his phone, and I felt cold when he left the bed and took the call into his personal bathroom. I was a little sad that he didn't stay in the same room... but I could understand, we had the movie up pretty loud.

When he came back out of the bathroom he started taking the clothes he had on, off and tossed them to the side. I blinked in confusion, we had just played this game. What was going on? I crawled over to the side of the bed that was closest to Kouga and sat up on my knees watching him as he stripped down just to his boxer shorts. I cocked my head to one side, baffled as Kouga disappeared into his closet.

"Kouga?" I asked, craning my body over the farthest that I could without falling off of the bed. I didn't hear an answer so I rolled off of the sheets and peaked into his closet door. "Kouga?" I asked again. He was searching through nicer looking slacks and button down shirts while just in his boxer shorts, he looked so damn sexy... I wanted to do it in the closet with him.

He turned around after pulling a pair of dark charcoal pants off of a hanger, "What is it baby?"

"Why are you changing clothes?" I asked, blinking innocently at him.

"Oh!" He laughed, "That was my Dad on the phone... he wants to meet up for dinner. I told him that you were over and he said to bring you along."

"So you are changing clothes for dinner?" I asked giving him a small smile. I was actually kinda proud and a little embarrassed that Kouga's father wanted to meet me... and for dinner?

"Yeah?" He nodded, pulling the pants on over his legs. "It's at his favorite restaurant and it's a five star... gotta look kinda classy if you know what I mean?"

I shook my head, "No... what do you mean?"

He smiled at me, "You don't have to dress like penguins, but since Dad has a high reputation we have to make appearances. Does that explain it a little better?"

I nodded slowly, "Kouga... I don't have anything else to wear other than the clothes that I am in."

It was his turn to blink in confusion. I think for a moment there he forgot that I don't just have nice classy clothes to wear out to dinner... nor was I at my own closet to even check.

"I'm sure we can find something," he shrugged, "You don't have anything like a cocktail dress at home?"

"No," I laughed, leaning against the door frame of his closet.

"Well shit," he replied scratching the back of his head. "Well we gotta get you a dress."

I couldn't help but look down at my feet, feeling even more embarrassed now that Kouga was insisting that we go dress shopping for me... for just one dinner date too. I guess that high society just rolls that way. But I still felt bad... I didn't want him spending money on me just for one dress, for one night. "Kouga..." I sighed, "Why don't I just join you and your dad next time for dinner so I can get a dress together or something... how's that?"

Kouga paused in putting a slate blue colored button up shirt on and turned and looked at me in surprise, "Why would I want to do that?" He stopped his thought and grinned, "Are you nervous to meet my father, Ayame?"

"No..." I answered, "I'm just not prepared... if we have to dress up and I have to go buy a dress... it would just be better to do it at a different time. I don't have the money to buy a brand new dress."

"Don't worry about it," Kouga shrugged, "I'll take you shopping."

I blinked a few times, finding his answer a little hard to swallow. "No Kouga, I don't want you buying me a new dress."

He grinned, "Why not?"

"Because..." I answered.

"Because why?" he retorted.

"Because I don't want you to..." I pouted.

"Why not?" he laughed.

"I'm not going to play this game with you Kouga..." I stated firmly rolling my eyes.

"It's not like I can't spare the money to spend on you Ayame. Besides, my Dad already expects you to be there... it would be... well kinda a bad thing to let him down. He's excited to meet you... especially with how I talk about you."

I couldn't help but blush. He has already talked to his father about me? I didn't know if I should be embarrassed or flattered. "Kouga!" I exclaimed, my body chose to be flattered and the blush on my cheeks brightened to a glowing red.

"What?" he laughed, "You are gorgeous... and I love you... so why shouldn't I brag about you to my father?"

"I don't know..." I mumbled from behind my hands as they covered my face.

I could hear him step closer to me and I suddenly felt his arms wrap around my waist as he pulled me into his body. He was warm and he smelled of his cologne. He must have put some on while he was on the phone in the bathroom because he wasn't wearing it before. Curve for Men, mmm he smelled handsome. I dropped my hands to return the embrace but continued hiding my face by pressing it against his shirt.

"Look," he whispered huskily as he glanced down at me with a near predatory smirk, "You let me buy you a dress, doll you up, and take you out to dinner with my father... and I will be your personal sex slave for a week."

I moved so that I could look him right in his eyes, he had the largest and dopiest grin on his face and I must admit it was the most adorable thing I have ever seen.

"A month and we have a deal," I replied.

"Deal," he nodded.

I sighed leaning in and kissing him on the neck. He let out a soft murring rumble from his throat and I couldn't help but find it really sexy. If he kept this up I might have to change the deal to two months. Hee hee!

"Go get your shoes, and I will take you shopping," he said letting me go and turning to get his own shoes.

Excitedly I bounced out of the closet and went to go put my shoes back on. After slipping on my other shoe he stepped out of the closet and shrugged a matching charcoal colored blazer onto his shoulders, nodding to me to signal he was ready to go.

During the car ride we were quiet, and I could feel a slight tension in the air. Some part of me thought it was just me because I was getting nervous again and probably over thinking some things, but when I looked into Kouga's face as he drove, I could see it present on his features. He was anxious, it was hidden in his electric blue eyes.

"You okay?" I whispered as we stopped at a light.

"Yeah," he responded, "Why shouldn't I be?"

"You seem tense..." I replied softly.

He sighed, "It's just my Dad... I really hope he doesn't embarrass me."

"What time does he want us to meet up with him?" I asked.

"Eight thirty... I told him we had to get ready..." he answered.

I nodded, "So where are we going to get this dress? Keep in mind I have never had to purchase a cocktail dress or anything so we don't have to go you know... super expensive... as long as it's nice."

He smiled and I could see some of the tension slowly start to drop from his features, "Where do you like shopping?"

"I don't know," I shrugged, "I like a lot of stores in the mall..."

"Well we don't have that much time honey..." he chuckled, "So how about a department store like Sears, Dillards, Belks, JCPenny's... and while we are in there we can get some make up thrown in there and your hair done if you want?"

My eyes almost bulged out of my face, "That's a little over the top isn't it?"

"No," Kouga answered, "Not for meeting my father for the first time. You gotta keep in mind, my Dad is used to girls going out of their way to look their best, so for the first time you meet him it's good to make a really really nice impression."

I nodded in affirmation, I could deal with that... damn if I were to keep track of all the money I owe him if this relationship goes sour... then I had better start counting now. Hot Damn! This boy is willing to spend money like toilet paper!

When we reached the mall he parked in the Dillards parking lot and we walked inside the automatic doors while holding hands. I looked so dressed down compared to him, he looked so nice, and some of the glances people gave us were unnerving. I hated it when strangers stared at me. It was one thing in school because even if I didn't know the kids personally I saw most of them on a daily basis... but out in public, when people stare, it makes me feel self concious... like I have a three ring circus on my face.

One of the store associates walked straight up to Kouga and started chit chatting with him as if they were old buddies. He talked to the blonde for a good ten minutes before getting to the point as to why we were even there. Was I jealous? No... just irritated that I was over looked until the reason why he was there was even brought up. I mean the girl was cute. She was blonde, taller than me, thinner than me, had larger breasts than me... why wouldn't Kouga want to stare at her? Sigh...

"So you need a dress?" The girl asked.

"Yeah," Kouga nodded, "For Ayame..." I looked over at the blonde at the sound of my name and I wanted to vomit when she smiled at me. Why? Because even though her mouth was smiling... I could see the expression of "fuck you" in her eyes. She already didn't like me. I could only guess because she was envious Kouga was buying me something.

"Yeah," I smiled back with my own 'fuck you'expression, "I have to have a dress for our date tonight when we meet up with Kouga's father."

"Well," she quipped, she didn't sound impressed... and for some reason it felt like there was going to be a silent war going on between us. She didn't even look at me after that, she only had eyes for Kouga. Hello bitch! He's my man! "Follow me, and we have some lovely dresses to choose from."

"Come on baby," Kouga grinned down at me... poor guy was oblivious as to what was going on. How could he not see it? Oh yeah... that's right, Kouga is a Leo... he likes the attention. He probably knows all about what was going on in this little battlefield and he was playing general. Damn him.

I pouted, deciding that I would look around at least. If he wanted to play this game, then fine... we would play this game. The blonde toted us around mainly Kouga, showing off some of the finer dresses. She would hold them up to her body and demonstrate how it was supposed to look, and how it was hold. I narrowed my eyes... even if Kouga was buying it, the dress had to look good on me. So after the third dress I snatched it from the blonde and inspected it myself. I turned to Kouga with the dress in my hands, "Baby this is taking to long... your store associate friend is more interested in how you think the dress would look on her over me, and like you said before... your father isn't a patient man and we have other errands to run before dinner."

Kouga nodded and shrugged softly to the blonde, "Sorry Mara, maybe next time."

"Besides," I piped in, "I don't like the style of any of these dresses... they appear to available."

Kouga raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Available?"

"Yeah... available... like... you know, slutty. We are going to a five star restuarant not a brothel. I want something more classy... and I dont think your friend can provide me with that," I answered giving this 'Mara' girl a look of, 'he is mine and I win, so fuck off'! Go me! Super brownie points!

She stared at me in shock and disbelief, her mouth a perfectly painted "o". I smiled smugly and wrapped my arm around Kouga's, leaning my head in to rest it on his shoulder.

"I assure you that our garments are classy," she said in her defense, but again, not to me... but to Kouga.

"Sorry Mara," Kouga shrugged, "she doesn't like any of the dresses... I'm not going to buy her something she doesn't like." He leaned down and kissed me on the top of my head. Very sweet of him... about damn time he showed some affection to me... and to spite this bitch.

Am I being overly possessive or something? Nah... I worked hard to win over his heart, and I will fight to keep it.

I pulled on Kouga's arm gently, "Let's go..."

He nodded and smiled at me, and we promptly left the store. As soon as we were outside it's doors and into the hallways of the mall, I slapped his arm.

"Ouch!" he exclaimed. "What was that for?"

"You were flirting with that girl..." I pouted.

"Was not, Mara and I are old friends," he defended himself.

I raised an eyebrow, "An old friend who still gives you that wanton expression of how much she still loves you and longs for you to sleep with her again?"

"What if I have never slept with her?" he retorted raising his own eyebrow.

"I'm not stupid Kouga," I frowned, "you were giving her the same look... almost regretfully at first. And then it seemed like I wasn't even there. I told you this was a bad idea... and I didn't want to go since I don't have a dress. But you insisted, and subject me to that?"

He sighed, his shoulders slumping, "Alright I slept with her once. But it was a long time ago."

"Kouga you are eighteen... how long ago are we talking about?" I asked.

He avoided my gaze, "Three years ago... I was fifteen and she was sixteen."

"Three years isn't that long Kouga," I sighed.

"Yeah I know..." he mumbled, "but ever since then she and I regretted that there was nothing more... neither of us acted on it. Whenever I was single she wasn't. Whenever she was single I wasn't."

"You still love her?" I asked, my voice dropping. This is what I was afraid of... right after losing my virginity to him he would leave me for someone who was ten times prettier than I am, and just hold it over my head and laugh in my face about it.

"She was my first Ayame..." he replied softly, "You are always attached to your first. You never forget them and that attachment always makes you think... 'what if things were different?'"

"That doesn't answer my question Kouga," I said closing my eyes and crossing my arms over my chest. "Do you still love her?"

"Alright," he said, "I'll be honest with you. Yes, some part of me still loves her. But a larger part of me loves you more. You are the most important person in my life right now, and that is all that matters... okay? I know you have your suspicions and doubts, but a really big part of love... is trust, and I need you to trust me."

What Kouga said made a lot of sense. Trust is a large part of a relationship, and so if he wants my trust then I suppose that is not a big request to fulfill. I smiled up at him, "Kouga... I trust you. Just keep in mind that once you grant someone trust and that trust is broken... then it is hard to get it back."

He nodded, "I figured you would say something like that. So let's go get your dress... we are gonna run late if we don't hurry."

We soon found ourselves in a designer store, and we found the perfect dress. It was three quater length and came down just to my knees, it was fitting around my torso and flowed from my hips down in a gorgeous forest green fabric that had black sheer over it. It was beautiful. We got black heals that strapped around the ankles and a matching purse. I thought it was a little much, but Kouga insisted so I didn't argue.

Like he promised we had my make up done, as well as my hair... which I think took the longest. But, in the end I guess it didn't matter because I looked amazing... at least that is what Kouga said... especially since he was practically drooling. My make up was very natural looking with earth tones so that the dress brought out my eye color and hair color. My hair was straightened and pulled back into a half pony tail that was twisted into a bun and heald up by four intricately painted chopstick pins.

When I walked back to the front of the salon, I couldn't help but smile when I literally witnessed Kouga's jaw drop. He stood there in astonishment for a good half a minute before I sauntered up to him.

"Like what you see?" I asked in a coy and teasing manner.

He nodded in a dumbfounded fashion, "You still wanna meet Dad for dinner... because I just wanna take you home and keep you to myself."

I playfully slapped his arm, "Kouga..." and I felt the rush of heat cover my cheeks even though it was artfully decorated with make-up my natural blush still came through. "It would make a bad impression... and we went through all this trouble, and money to make me look presentable... and we are going out to dinner with your Father."

"Damn," he said snapping his fingers, "you're right."

We were running more than late... when Kouga and I finally arrived at the place where we were going to meet his dad, we were forty five minutes behind schedule. We had gotten stuck in traffic. There had been a wreck on the highway and that is where the majority of our wait took place. Kouga had called his Father to tell him about the delay and thankfully his Dad wasn't that upset.

We finally walked through the front entrance to the building and even though I looked the part of a classy lady... I felt like I was the one set of drapes that didn't match the rest of the decor in the room. We were shown to our seats, and as we approached the table I could definitely see where Kouga got his good looks. Even though his Father was older, he seemed to be in good shape as if he worked out. He had long black hair that he kept in a lower ponytail at the base of his neck, and his hair line was receding a little but not by much. He had a very distinguishable face, strong jaw line, high cheek bones, and eyes that sparkled just as blue as Kouga’s... and demanded respect right off the bat.

Kouga pulled a seat out for me, so I sat down and he pushed me up to the table, and took the seat beside me. Things were quiet at first because Kouga’s father was on the phone having a very heated conversation... I suppose with one of his employees about a case. I nervously glanced over to Kouga and he reached over and wrapped his hand around mine, and thankfully it was a comfort. I looked over at him and smiled, and just then we heard a snap. Kouga’s father had finished his call.

“Well,” he started, “I’m sorry about that... I work with idiots.”

“It’s alright...” Kouga answered.

“No son it’s not alright,” his Father answered, leaning into place his hands on the table, folding them just behind an empty but decorative plate. “I now look like a vicious tyrant to your...” he paused and took a once over on me, “...very lovely girlfriend. You must be Ayame, Kouga has spoken wonders about you.”

I couldn’t fight the blush, “I’m very flattered you think so Mr. Ookami.”

“My son has good taste,” he nodded, “Kouga she is much prettier and more polite than the last girl you brought home.”

“Dad...” Kouga whispered in an ‘you are embarrassing me’ tone.

“What it’s true?” his Father responded shrugging his shoulders. “In any case... I’m sure you are both hungry.” He reached his hand up and snapped his fingers, and magically three servers appeared. Why three? I’m not sure... perhaps Mr. Ookami is a good tipper? I just hope that dinner with Mr. Ookami turns out the way Kouga wants... I wouldn’t want to disappoint him. That I think... is my biggest fear as I sit at this dinner table.

I had better not fuck up.
