Chapter 10 Ponderings
A/N: just to warn you this one is short
After kagome left: Sesshomaru’s thoughts and dealings
As Sesshomaru settled down in front of the god tree his thoughts settled to the issue of the miko Kagome. She was an intriguing creature full of vast emotion and an endless heart. In the various meetings that he had with her over the past three years all he had been after was his brother and that damned sword. She had gotten in his way so many times yet somehow he had always respected her bravery. Now she was destined to become his mate for life.
Thinking about the miko brought unrealized feelings to the surface that he never knew existed. In his rational mind he was screaming while in the un-rational he was happy that he had finally found the one. It just did not make sense. The girl had put a spell on him she just had to. But even his rational side would not believe that line. Some how it just all fit some how he knew she would be the one…his soul mate, his one and only.
It was an un-common thing of his time to find the one you were destined to be with for the fact that arranged marriages were common place. Only the higher up could afford to choose who they wanted. And even then you had a time limit, luckily for him the answer to his problem fell into his lap. Now all he had to do was gain her favor…but what could he do? The answer to his problem would be found with deep meditation.
After Kagome Left with Sesshomaru: the pissed off hanyou and group’s thoughts
“I can’t believe she is mating my half brother! She was supposed to be mine!” Inuyasha yelled at his un-caring friends. “He’s such an ass hole!” he fumed looking at the three with death in his eyes. “Inuyasha, what do you suppose she could have witnessed that would make her turn to the arms of another?” Miroku said un-fazed drinking his tea. Songo joined him while Shippo silently looked up and picked up his own glass. “What are you guys talking about?” inuyasha growled out. “You know that she always knew in her heart where you went every night. But she always kept a hope that it wasn’t true. Last night she went off to take a bath she said. So we let her with out a second thought. When she never returned we had a feeling that she went off after you Inuyasha. So what were you doing that might cause her to run to an enemy for comfort?” Songo said while placing her empty cup down and looking the boy in the eye.
Inuyasha looked pale and flattened his ears on his head. “I don’t have to explain my actions to you” he said angrily. “I’ll take a wild guess and say that she probably saw you with Kikyou, I’m guessing that she saw you and her mating, you told us to keep her away because you had something important to do. Little did we know she would go running off to go find you and Kikyou together” Miroku said placing his now empty cup besides Songo’s.
Inuyasha had no where to turn they knew what he was doing all the time and now he had hurt the one he cared for most. He hung his head in shame before he bounded off to the well where his brother lay in wait for Kagome’s return.
The three that were left looked at one another and shrugged knowing what was going to ensue. Kaede looked out of the door her eyes gleaming with a humor that hadn’t been present for a while. Her old bones knew that Inuyasha was about to get what he deserved.
