Kiss
Chapter Ten
Kagome was getting some water for her pot to make dinner. Inuyasha was back at the camp with the others still pouting. He really got on her nerves sometimes. There was no excuse for his behavior. Leiko had saved her life yet he insisted that she'd been trying to kill her. Kagome didn't tell him about them speaking. It would only cause him to get angrier. He really needed to stop sleeping in trees since he already had a splinter permantly jammed up his ass. Her feelings weren't helping the matter. She loved Inuyasha but she felt like something was missing. It didn't have a name but it nagged at her all the same.
Kagome looked at the reflection staring back at her. She sighed when she saw Kikyo looking back at her. Would Inuyasha ever see her as someone besides his precious Kikyo. True he valued her friendship and cared for her but times Kagome believed he would never be in love with her. Her hand ran across her cheeks as a tear ran down.
"You shouldn't compare yourself to her."
She looked up to find Sesshomaru gazing at her. Her heart stopped and her stomach began to do flips. His face was emotionless, he stood as if bored but his eyes held an emotion she couldn't name. His arms were folded infront of his chest. 'Wait, when did he get his arm back?' She took a step back, "What do you want?"
"Hn. I am merely passing through. Why do you compare yourself to the dead miko?"
"Because, its who he sees." She looked down at her feet.
"He is a fool." He was suddenly standing in front of her.
Kagome felt her breath catch and her heart started beating wildly. Should she call out for Inuyasha? Before she could answer her own question, she felt him grab her by the arms. His mouth came crashing down on hers. It was rough at first, then he softened the kiss. Kagome felt him ease up and opened her mouth to try and speak. His tongue slid into her mouth, a shiver ran down her spine and heat instantly pooled into her stomach. Being curious she brought her tongue to meet his, the touch was eletricfying.
Sesshomaru felt her begin to kiss him back and deepened it. His body was reacting to her touch, her kiss was shy. But it sent waves of desire through him. He felt himself begin to harden and pulled back. She moaned in disappointment. He didn't say anything as he walked away leaving a very confused miko behind.
Several minutes passed as Kagome ran her fingers over her lips. She could still feel him. Why had Sesshomaru kissed her? Why had she kissed him back when she should have been screaming for Inuyasha? INUYASHA! Surely he would be able to smell Sesshomaru's scent on her. She couldn't take a bath, he would want to know why. As if sensing the girl's turmoil a voice answered.
"Purify his scent."
She turned to find Leiko watching her. "You saw?" A blush spread across her face. Would she tell Inuyasha? That was a stupid question, she'd just told her how to keep Inuyasha from knowing. "How?"
"Raise your power, depending on the contact and the length you can eliminate his scent. Can't do anything about your bruised lips." Leiko smiled as she got even redder.
Kagome tried to summon her power, it took several minutes of concentrating and she felt her power flare around her. Hopefully that would do. She turned to thank the other girl but she was gone.
