Chapter 10
The truth

Sesshoumaru sat in his study he could feel the fear of his mate, and the running of his brother down the hall, he knew they were coming for him so he sat there until they made their presence known. A sudden burst of the door and his irate brother entered the room following behind him hand in tow was their mate.


“I am glad you did the right thing for once, little brother.” Sesshoumaru said coldly, looking at his brother with anger.


“What the hell is that suppose to mean, and where were you dear brother.” Inuyasha said growling at his brother


Kagome had her hands folded together, watching her two mates fighting. She was not going to let this happen. She wanted so bad to smack them each on their silver haired heads about their stubbornness.


Both brothers stopped fighting when they sensed their mate’s anger. Her face was flushed red again and her ears started to twitch.


“Would you two just shut up and listen to yourselves.” She growled with fierceness, showing her fangs threatening.


The two brothers looked at each other with shame, they were just concerned for their mate’s safety.


“Please my love, please forgive me.” Sesshoumaru stood up with a pout on his face. “I felt your fear and I was just concerned for you.” He said sincerely.


Sesshoumaru walked from behind his desk and approached Inuyasha he placed a hand on his shoulder. “Inuyasha thank you for taking care of her, while I was attending to business. I felt her fear, but I knew that you were with her and on your way to see me. I did not mean to snap at you little brother. Things have just been tense lately.” He said still with great shame on his face.


Kagome felt tears in her eyes and ran to her two lovers embracing them with all her unconditional love, into a big hug. Breaking the hug, she grabbed each of their hands and walked them out of the study and into her bedroom. She saw Sango, and gave a friendly nod. Sango kept her head down in a bow, while watching the royal family enter. She was waiting for her command for her dismissal.


Kagome sensed her hesitance and walked over to her, after leading the two lords on her bed.


“Sango, could you please come back in a little bit. I really need to discuss some matters with my mates.” Kagome asked.


Sango looked at her then her lords. “ Yes my lady.” She said leaving the room.


“Sango. Please call me Kagome, its ok.” Kagome said still smiling at her new friend.


Sango looked back with a smile not noticing the two confused lords. “Sorry Kagome, I will be back later to check on you.” She gave her final bow. “Good day my Lords.” Turning to leave the room, she closed the door behind her.


Kagome walked up to the bed sitting in between her two mates, she grabbed each of their hands and held them stroking softly on their fingers.


“There has been something I have been waiting to talk to the both of you about. However under certain circumstances I have not been able too.” She said timidly.


The two brothers looked at each other. Sesshoumaru was about to say something when Kagome squeezed his hand, giving him pleading eyes to let her continue.

“Ok where do I start, um lets see? Oh, ok I live 500 years in the future.” She said quickly, keeping her head down.

“What! How can that be?” Inuyasha yelled, only to suppress a growl from his brother.

“Please continue my love.” Sesshoumaru said with concern still glaring daggers at his brother.

“Ok, I am 18 years old in human years, so I am guessing I am 18 in demon years as well now. Anyway I was on my way to school.”


“What is school?” Inuyasha asked interrupting Kagome.


She looked up at him and smiled. “School is a place I go to learn, history, math, science, things of that nature.”


“So you can read and you know math. Very impressive.” Sesshoumaru said with interest.


“Yes I do know how to read and write, my love, but please let me continue ok.” She said.


The two brothers nodded in agreement.


“Good, now where was I. Oh yes, I was on my way to school, last year too if I might add. When I walked by my shrine, I heard my cat crying. The door too the shrine was closed and locked so I have no idea how he happened to get in, in the first place. When I had arrived, to my surprise the door was unlocked. Therefore, I went into the shrine and down the wooden steps, I found my cat and he scratched me and ran out the door. Somehow, I ended up tripping and I fell into the well. I thought I was going to die, but too my amazement, I was then surrounded in blue light. When the light was gone, I saw blue skies instead of the shrine that covered the well. I climbed out and found a village and an old priestess by the name of Kaede. Well here we are now.” She said, relieved that there was a weight off her shoulders. She looked over at the two brothers watching them take in all this new information; she could not help but chuckle.


Sesshoumaru was the first one to speak since his brother was still in shock.


“ I know of this priestess, my love and would like for you to take me there.” He said, tightening his grip on her hands.


Kagome was so happy when she heard her love she jumped off the bed and gave him a big hug.

“Can we leave right now?” She questioned excitably.

“If that it what you want love we can go right away.” Sesshoumaru said he was also curious to this new information.


Inuyasha growled, then looked over at Kagome. She stopped hugging Sesshoumaru and ran over to hug Inuyasha, his growling eased up when he tightly hugged her back.


“You know love, we still have not told him about our little outing.” He said in her ear.


“Oh, yes how silly of me.” She said softly, hoping that the subject would not make her love change his mind about going.


Sesshoumaru heard what his brother whispered in Kagome’s ear.


“What is it that you have not told me yet love?” He asked.


“Well that voice came back today, this time it was different, I could not speak nor move.” She said, fidgeting her hands, looking down.


Sesshoumaru lifted up one of his eyebrows and approached Kagome. Placing one of his fingers under her chin, he slowly lifted up her head so that their eyes met.


“What did the voice say this time, my love?” he continued asking.


“The voice said that I have something that he wants and he will see me soon.” She answered leaving out the part where she swore at him.


“And why did you and my brother come running in?”


“Because I felt an evil presence on the grounds, but I did not know where it was coming from that is why we were on are way to see you.” Inuyasha answered.


“Then I have no choice but to say no we will not be traveling to Kaede’s today.” Sesshoumaru said sternly.


Kagome gasped then tears started to form in her eyes, her emotions caught up with her and she fell on her knees covering her face with her hands. Sesshoumaru knelt down to his love.

“I am sorry love, but this is the only way I know to keep you safe. I am going outside to check the grounds. Inuyasha stay here with her until I get back.” He commanded then left the room feeling bad about his mate but knowingly he made the right decision.


“I was hoping to see my mom, grandpa, and my brother, I wanted to see if the well would work. I know they must be so worried about me.” She said still crying.


Inuyasha hated to see women crying and especially had a hard time because it was his mate. He knelt down and wrapped his arms around her waist lifting her up slowly. Embracing her into his chest, she wrapped her arms around his waist holding her up for support, and then he laid her on the soft mattress. She could not stop the tears from falling, so Inuyasha started rubbing her back and nuzzling into her neck trying to calm her down.


Sesshoumaru walked outside into the gardens. The strong aroma of flowers, which adorned the stone steps, distilled his senses. He walked down the steps and headed in a large field. Memories of Kagome running from him came to mind and smiled. His smile faded from the recent events leaving her in the castle crying. He shook his head and reassured himself that it was still the right decision.


Kagura could smell Sesshoumaru and kept hidden in the denseness of the forest. She inhaled his scent deeply, remembering their courting many years ago. A frown appeared on her face, but knew better than to deceive her Lord Naraku.


“I cannot believe after all these years my love, you still look the same. I need to see you.” Kagura thought.

She pulled her fan from underneath her kimono and unfolded it.


“I am the wind, feel me my love.” She said calling out her powers to the wind, as she opened her fan and spun around in a circle summoning up a breeze.


Sesshoumaru stopped when he felt a sudden breeze surrounding him.


“Kagura!”
