9. Deciding

Chapter Nine

Kagome woke and rolled over so see that her room was still empty. The sun was just coming up bringing on another day. A day which Kagome didn't want to face. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying. 'He hadn't come last night.' It confirmed her worst fear. She turned to face the wall as if she could turn her back to the world. The door opened. Yukina's cheerful voice filled the room.

"Good morning, how are you feeling? Genki asked me to check on you." The ice demon walked over to the girl that had her back turned. She sat on the edge of the bed but the girl still refused to acknowledge her presence. Feeling her head, Yukina decided that she was a little cool to the touch. "Are you in any pain Kagome?"

All the girl did was shake her head. 'Unless you count the pain in my heart.' Kagome felt the girl get up and leave. She went back to sleep. Waking several hours later when Keiko came in carrying a tray with food. She thought Kagome was asleep so just left the food on the night stand for when she woke up.

Keiko returned two hours later to find Kagome still laying in bed. The food was where she'd left it untouched. Kurama and Hiei had been asking to see her but Genki insisted they weren't allowed in the room until Kagome was up and on her feet. They were becoming angry at the delay. She went over to check to see if she was awake. The girl was awake but not aware of her, she seemed to be lost in lala land. Keiko decided to try and shake her to get her attention. After several attempts and not even a batting eyelash she gave up. She grabbed the tray and went out the room. 'Maybe shes just tired, she did have her soul sucked out after all.'

When the sun began to set Keiko began to get worried. Once again she tried to take her some food. Kagome was in the same position she'd left her in. "Kagome, its Keiko." No response. "Do you need to talk?" Still no response. She sighed, everyone but her and Yukina had been allowed into the room to check on the girl. Yukina had been in only once and Keiko had came the rest of the times. Everyone kept asking how she was but all she could tell them was that she was resting. But she was sure that the girl wasn't sleeping just staring off into the walls. If her red puffy eyes were any indication she was also crying. Genki didn't want anyone else in but against her nature Keiko decided to break the rules. She left the room and found Hiei.

Hiei was sitting on the roof above Kagome's room when Keiko found him. "Hiei can you come down a minute I need to talk to you."

Hiei jumped off the roof to land in front of the girl. "How is she?"

"Well thats what I want to talk to you about. I don't think she's doing too good." She saw the concern in his eyes and knew she was doing the right thing. "She isn't sleeping just laying staring at the wall. I'm sure shes crying. I don't know whats wrong with her."

He did. It was time for him and Kurama to fix it. Kurama had went to town to speak to his mother. He searched for him and found him. 'Are you still in town?'

The fox answered quickly. 'Yes, how is she?'

'Not good, after you are done head to your apartment. I will meet you there with the girl.' He disconnected. He thanked Keiko and walked into the temple. Genki was standing inside waiting on him. "Don't try to stop me."

"Hmph, bout damn time one of you got off your ass."

Hiei walked into the room. As Keiko had said she was laying on her side staring at the wall. He knew she sensed him the moment her body tensed. He gave her no time to react before he picked her up bridal style.

Kagome had been thinking about getting out the bed finally. They deserved an apology atleast. She felt him when he entered the room. Before she could say anything he was picking her up. Not being able to bring herself to look him in the eyes she buried her head in his chest. The sun hit her announcing that they were outside. The others sent questions their way as he took off running with her.

Kagome was sure if she looked down the ground would be several feet below her. The small demon was leaping from building to building as if she weighed nothing. Several minutes later they landed on a balcony. The double doors were open leaving white curtains to flow freely in the wind. Where had he taken her?

Hiei landed on the balcony and knew the fox was inside waiting on them. The only time Kurama left his bedroom open was when he knew Hiei would be stopping by. He stepped inside sure enough the fox was inside pacing back and forth. "Figured you'd be here."

Kagome heard him speak. Someone else was here? "Took you long enough." Kurama spoke and Kagome groaned. Great they were both here which meant they were going to ask her to chose. That or bitch her out for what she had done. The latter seemed more likely.

Hiei sat her down on the end of the large bed. She kept her eyes lowered as he placed her down. Kurama noticed that she refused to look at either of them. He knew that Hiei wasn't any good at these things so decided to handle it. He knelt down on his knees in front of her. "Kagome look at me." When she didn't comply he grabbed her chin and brought her to meet his eyes. Tears were falling down her face causing his heart to ache. "I need to tell you something." More tears fell.

"Hiei and I have discussed it. Neither one of us want to give you up. We both want you. But we need to know what you want. Who do you want, we need to know." Kurama waited for her answer.

Kagome had known it was coming but never expected hearing it asked would hurt so much. She looked into his green eyes and turned to look into Hiei's. She wanted both of them. She didn't want to give up either one of them. How could she explain to them that she was in love with both of them. "I can't have what I want."

"What do you want Kagome?" Kurama held his breath waiting for her answer.

She couldn't lie to them nor would she lie to herself so she answered. "I want both of you."

He let out his breath, "Thank Kami." She jerked her head up at him. Didn't he hear her? Kurama stood up and walked over to close the balcony doors. He wanted to make sure they wouldn't be disturbed. He quickly made his way downstairs leaving Hiei alone with her for a few minutes. His mother had a habit of just walking in if the door was unlocked.

Hiei watched Kurama walk out the room. He sat down on the bed pulling her into his lap. He cupped her face bringing it up to look her in the eyes. He bent his head to place a kiss across her lips. When she opened her mouth to protest he slid his tongue inside her warmth. She couldn't stop him as he began to kiss her. He didn't give up until she returned the kiss. Her body reacted to him, she had missed him. Hiei placed his hand on her leg feeling the soft skin under his finger tips.

Kurama walked back into the room. Hiei had wasted no time he saw. Not that he could blame him. He shut his bedroom door causing Kagome to jump. Guilt filled her eyes once again. Didn't she understand what they wanted? Hiei kept a tight hold on her as he walked over. Once again he went down on his knees in front of her. "Kagome don't you know what we want?" She shook her head confused. "We both want you. We don't expect you to chose. We don't want you to chose." At her wide eyed expression he continued. "We are both used to getting what we want. We both want you so what do you think that means?"

She couldn't answer though she had an idea exactly what it meant. Hiei ran his tongue over her ear causing a shiver to run along her spine. "You are about to get what you want. We will not fight over you, we will for fight for you. You belong to us."

Kagome felt like pinching herself. She had to be dreaming, they were willing to share her? Did she want to be shared? 'If it means I can be with both of them then yes.'
