Who is he?

I pace the room waiting for my mate's return. A female servant enters the room to clear my dishes from earlier. I look at her and she turns her gaze away. What is it with everyone today? What is going on around here? I can’t stand the waiting anymore I decided to go out for a while. I walk down a long wood walled corridor toward the gardens wishing Sesshoumaru would return soon. The servant that was in our room is now following my every move.

“Would you stop following me!” I scream at her.

“I am so sorry my lady I am just doing what the lord told me to do.” She said as her gaze fell to the floor.

“I am sorry I just feel a little on edge today.”

She looked at me and spoke “Maybe it’s because of your condition?”

“You mean because of the pups. Maybe, but I think it’s a little more than that.”

“Lord Sesshoumaru will be back soon please try not to worry my lady.”

“Thank you umm what’s your name?”

“It’s Minna.” She replied with a bow.

“Minna, I know Sesshoumaru wants you to watch me but do you think I could please be alone here in the garden? I won’t leave the without telling you I promise.”

“I guess I could for a very short time I will wait for you back in the corridor.”

“Thank you.”

And then she was gone I haven’t felt this alone and numb since I met Sesshoumaru. I sit on a beautiful white marble bench under a large tree fully blooming with light pink delicately scented flowers. I let my thoughts drift to my mate and his litter I now carry in my womb. I can already see that my once flat abdomen has a begun to swell. I wonder if they will come soon I forgot to ask how long exactly a dog demon is pregnant for. I think I will scold my mate for leaving me here and not telling me where he has gone. I am suddenly jarred from my thoughts when Minna clears her throat behind me.

“ I am so sorry to disturb you my lady, it seems you have guests.”

“ Guests?”

“ A miko is here to see you and she has brought some companions with her. She said you are friends?”

“ Go and bring them here please.”

“ Would my lady and her guests like to have a meal here in the garden?”

“ Thank you Minna that would be delightful.”


I stayed in my spot until my friend arrived. I greeted Kagome and Sango with a hug. I could not believe they had come to see me I was so surprised. Then Kagome told me how Sesshoumaru had come to talk to Inuyasha and what an idiot he had been and that she came as quickly as they could. She apologized for Inuyasha and asked that I ask Sesshoumaru to please forgive him too. Then I told her that he had not returned yet and that I was really afraid something had happened to him. She reassured me that he was fine. I asked her if she knew about demon pregnancy and if she knew about how long it would be till I had my pups. Sango said as far as she knew it wouldn’t be too much longer as far as she knew it was only 60 days from the time I had become fertilized. I felt faint. Sesshoumaru had said I had become pregnant the first time we were together. That means I only have about 40 more days. I found myself panicking but Kagome and Sango helped me calm down. Minna came in with or food and we sat down to a lovely meal even Inuyasha seemed to have a good time. Minna cleared our things away then came to me.


“ My lady I didn’t want to disrupt your visit with your friends but lord Sesshoumaru had arrived back sometime ago he said to let you enjoy yourself but I know you were worried. He is in the library if you wish to go to him I will see to your friends.” She whispered to me.

I stood up to leave and said. “ If you would excuse me I need to go speak with Sesshoumaru. I will see that your needs are met. Kagome and Sango there are several hot springs here I think you would enjoy them Minna will return to assist you and bring you fresh clothes. Please stay for dinner.”

My stomach churned as Minna and I walked to the library. I told her to go see to the women I would not leave my Sesshoumaru’s side. She bowed and left and I pushed open the door to see Sesshoumaru staring into the large fireplace that gently lit the room. He didn’t turn as he spoke.

“ Did you have a nice time with your friends?”

“ Yes, I did. I invited them to stay for dinner and I was hoping they could remain here till after the pups come. Kagome said to apologize for Inuyasha’s behavior. She said they will all side with us when we face Naraku.”

He still didn’t look at me as he answered. “They can stay if it pleases you and makes you feel safer. Kagome should not have to apologize for my half brothers actions. As for Naraku, you will not be with us when we fight him. I won’t risk you or our heirs.”

“ What do you mean I won’t be there with you? You can’t be serious. I have to be there. I want to see him pay for what he has done. I want to be by your side. Damn you look at me!”

Sesshoumaru turned and walked towards me placing his hand on my swollen stomach. Looking deep in my eyes I knew there was no way to change his mind. I was at a loss for words. What was I going to do? I couldn’t let the others do this without me. I had every right to be there. I would not miss seeing Naraku die. I fought the hate and anger growing inside and flung my arms around Sesshoumaru and held on tight.

“ Your friends are waiting for you let us not be discourteous.” He said as he released me from our embrace.

We walked into the main dinning hall lit by thousands and thousands of candles. I had not seen this room yet it was so beautiful and formal. The biggest table in hand carved wood stood in the center of the room. Swords and armor standing watch over us. The windows were cover by long flowing silk drapes in a color I guess would be described as blood red. Minna led Kagome and the others into the room. Sango looked around in awe. Kagome smile at me and whispered. “I guess you got the better brother.” We laughed and Inuyasha glared at us. Miroku stared at Sango seeing how gorgeous she was in her formal attire. We were seated and began our feast. I felt sad at the thought of possibly losing some of the people I now sat with in a battle that would be coming in the near future. Sesshoumaru squeezed my hand sensing my pain and sadness. I felt suddenly ill. I stood up and became dizzy. I felt Sesshoumaru’s hand on the small of my back as I nearly fainted.


“ I think Enzera had too much excitement for today. I will take her to our room. At her request you are all invited to stay until the pups arrive.” Sesshoumaru stated as he lifted me and made our exit.


Our guests looked at each other in bewilderment. Minna came to show them to their rooms. She showed Kagome and Sango theirs first letting them know that the rooms connected so they could visit each other easily. Inuyasha and Miroku had rooms much further down the hall.


Sesshoumaru guardedly placed me on our bed.

“ Am I ok?” I asked fearful of his response.

“ You’ll be fine.” He answered softly.

He climbed into bed with me and delicately placed his arm over me. He told me I needed to sleep. I think I can tonight with all these friends around I feel so safe and loved. I doze off in my lovers embrace. Only to wake a few hours later.


“ Owwww! Sesshoumaru it hurts. HELP!”
