SUMMARY: The fates must have intended them to witness the most shocking display from Kagome. It was in slow motion. All she could remember was making a fist then everything went kind-a-of blank.
Author's Note: This is a definite must for Kikyou haters to read. Anyways, I don't own Inuyasha ect. I however would like you to enjoy the continuing saga of At What Price.
CHAPTER 10: KNOCK OUT

“What’s wrong Sango? Did I suck that bad?” Kagome inquired.
Sango just shook her head, 'no.'
“Then what?”
That's when Shippou stepped in and explained what happened. Kagome turned a deep shade of purple. 'OH, Kami!' She was fighting the urge to run and scream. In fact, she did, but just hadn’t realized it.
Kikyou stomped off the dance floor, intent on telling off that little hussy. “Just who the hell does she think she is?” Kikyou hissed heading for the stage. Inuyasha didn’t even realize she left him standing there, until it was too late.
Kagome ran for cover squealing loudly. She heard Sango, Miroku, and Shippou then burst into laughter at the way she had reacted. Kagome needed to be by herself for a moment. So she could regain some composure that was eaten away when they told her see had been flashing the mass of dancers. ‘Where’s the bathroom?’ She thought. ‘I need to...’ She stopped in her tracks when she saw Kikyou blocking her exit giving her a death look.
“Think your pretty clever don’t you?” Hate reeked from Kikyou’s aura.
This put Kagome on immediate alert. “What are you talking about? I haven’t done anything.”
Kikyou walked closer to where Kagome was standing. “Don’t play stupid. Singing that song, and calling me a loose woman! Well let me tell you, you have to nerve to go up there dress like that you slut!”
Something snapped in Kagome’s mind. All she saw was red. “Say one more word and you will regret it, WENCH!”
“Ou!!! It that a threat?” Kikyou’s hand went up dramatically as she pretended fear. Then continued her jeers at her. Kikyou’s finger poked into Kagome’s shoulder painfully.
“Does it kill you to know he is with me? To know that you aren’t what he wants.” Kikyou stopped for air before continuing her verbal assault. “How does it feel to know that you aren’t worthy!” She gazed at Kagome gauging her reaction to her words and laughed cruelly at her supposed victory.
What pushed Kagome over the edge of no return was when Kikyou laughed. It was like nails on a chalk board. Kagome felt an incredible energy flow through her veins. Her small hand made a fist that radiated white electricity that surged around her.

Inuyasha had went to find Kikyou which wasn’t hard considering he heard her over the music in the other room. He just had to follow her voice, however; he didn’t understand a word she said.
“Should we get her already?” Sango asked wiping the tears from her eyes.
“Yeah, I think she got over her embarrassment by now.” Miruko said in agreement.
Shippou nodded and then lead the way back off the stage to find Kagome.
Sesshoumaru turned leaving the VIP room wanting to escape the now every growing confining room as more business executives, movie stars, and the filthy rich poured in. He needed space and clean air. Sesshoumaru felt like he was being suffocated from all the aromas coming together in a toxic fume which had now become to unbearable.

But, whatever she had done her hand now was throbbing painfully. Kagome felt eyes on upon as she realized the small crowd staring at her in shock. Her mind registered a dumbfounded Inuyasha as he glanced at her then at the floor. Sango was smiling at her and giving her a thumbs up to which Inuyasha growled at. Miroku and Shippou smiled, but both were shaking their heads. The other figure showed no emotion to her actions at all but just stood there staring back at her. That made her even more nervous.
“What the fuck happened?” Inuyasha roared as he picked up an unconscious Kikyou from the ground.
Kagome just looked on in silence.
“Isn’t that obvious brother? You have eyes don’t you? Or, are you that slow that you missed it.” Asked the familiar silver hair taiyoukai, who was now enjoying baiting Inuyasha. “She right hooked your fiancée.” Sesshoumaru add with a hint of amusement laced in this voice.
Kagome gasped at his words. ‘Well that would explain why you hand is throbbing Kags,’ she thought.
“She sure did. It was beautiful.” Hooted Sango.
“Damnit Sango this isn’t funny!” Inuyasha bellowed.
Kagome was giving worried glances at Kikyou, Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Shippou, and finally that guy who called Inuyasha brother.
“Kags, aren’t you going to explain?”
Sesshoumaru then remembered everything. That’s the girl that ran into me at Inuyasha building. Things were starting to all make sense to him. This was giving him a plan. ‘Yes, she should come in handy,’ he thought. ‘Even though she’s a human.’ He would did it for a deal.
“She doesn’t have to explain anything.” Shippou said in defense for Kagome. “Couldn’t you hear that shrew screaming at the top of her lung? She called Kagome a slut.”
Inuyasha growled loud, so loud that it was reverberating off the wall around them.
‘Oh, crap! What have I done?’ She was trying to think but found it very difficult. Kagome’s heart stopped when she thought Inuyasha was going to kill her. She had never seen him this mad, but then the look in his eyes told her he believed her. And, yet…
Inuyasha turned to leave the club with Kikyou in his arms, but before he made it to the door he heard Kagome mumble something about an icepack for Kikyou’s eye. Then there was an outburst of laughter followed him out.

During the car ride home Kagome was silent. It bothered Sango and Miroku who were now making small talk to cover up for the awkward situation at the club. Kagome was only receptive to bites and pieces of the mindless chatter.
“I didn’t know that they were going to be there or else…”
“Did you get a good look at his brother, Sesshoumaru?”
“I bet it’s going to be quite a shiner….”
Finally then arrived at her apartment and Miroku walked her to the door with Sango making her promising to call her if she needed anything.
“Kags, don’t worry about it. I’m sure by Monday it will all be forgotten.” Miroku tried to comfort her. It wasn’t working though.
Yeah, until Kikyou looks in the mirror, she thought. Kagome gave a weak smile and then apologize for her behavior. However, Miroku wouldn’t hear it. He gave her a hug and watched her walk into her apartment. Miroku left when he heard the lock slide into place.
Upon entering her apartment she didn’t really realize that there was someone in the living room with her.
