Lord Sesshomaru's Shocking Case of Obsession

The next day....

“Bye mom! Bye Gramps! By Souta!” Kagome hugged each one before heading off to join Inuyasha and Sesshomaru on their way to the well. She hobbled a few steps, before Inuyasha started calling her a cripple, and complaining that it would be next week by the time she got to the well. Sesshomaru glared sternly at the hanyou, before going back for his mate. Easily he swept her up into his arms. Souta thought this very funny, and Kagome eyed him in mock anger. Truthfully she couldn’t have been happier than to have her lover hold her close, so she smiled at her snowy haired demon, and busied herself playfully twisting his hair around her finger.

Sesshomaru looked down to his enchanting little vixen of a miko. His chest puffed out a little with pride. Her beauty went beyond compare, and he couldn’t wait to get her home so he could rage that petite little frame once more.

Inuyasha rolled his eyes at their little display of affection. “Kami, what did I do to deserve this?”

The three of them made it to the well, and jumped in. They flowed weightlessly through the blue light, and Sesshomaru’s feet never touched the floor before flying out of the old well. He looked around and inhaled deeply. Here the air is pure and the forests lush. This was his world. His domain.

Inuyasha seemed to be doing the same thing. He looked around to his companions, “Well, you gonna be all day or what? Let’s get to the village.”

Sesshomaru fought the urge to sarcastically down grade him, and simply began the walk to the human village of the old miko. When they rounded the corner, A ball of orange fur collided into Inuyasha’s chest.

“Inuyasha! Kagome!! Your back!” Shippo turned happily to the tall demon lord carrying Kagome. “You did it Lord Sesshomaru! You saved her!”

Lord Sesshomaru simply allowed a small smirk to curl his lip, but Kagome felt his chest puff out a little at the praise.

Soon they were joined by Miroku Sango, Kirara, and Kaede. All were thrilled to find their friends safe. They spent the day, talking about the battle and afterwards in Kagome’s era. All listened intently, and praised Sesshomaru-sama for his impeccable timing. The group was suddenly interrupted by a loud child screaming at the top of her lungs as she ran through the middle of town.

“Sesshomaru-sama! Sesshomaru-sama!” Rin called as she ran with her arms outstretch straight for her demonic idol.

Quickly Sesshomaru looked down to his chest wound then back to Rin, then he looked to Kagome, as if to say This is going to hurt! Kagome saw what went through his mind and quickly jumped to shield his chest from the coming blow. Rin flew up anyway and simply wrapped herself around Kagome to get to Sesshomaru. Kagome struggled to breathe until Jaken ordered the girl to back off.

“Konnichiwa Rin. I hope you have fared well?” Sesshomaru said to his ward. His voice held a strong hint of affection.

“Hai my Lord, and you, my Lord, how are you? Jaken received word that you were injured in a battle. We came right away!” Rin asked eagerly.

“Hai, Rin, Thank you for your concern, but I will be just fine.” He turned his gaze on the imp, “Jaken, you have done well keeping Rin from trouble?”

Jaken stumbled up with his staff of two heads to the front of his lordship, “Hai my Lord, though her escapades leave me wondering what we are doing with this troublesome child.” He glanced to Rin, who knew by now, of the toads’ affection for her.

Jaken’s words meant nothing, and Rin only laughed at him, then turned back to Lord Sesshomaru. “I was so worried about you.”

“As you see Rin, your worries have been wasted,” Sesshomaru said in his matter-of-fact way.

“Konnichiwa Rin,” Kagome said with a smile.

“Konnichiwa Lady Kagome,” Rin replied with an equally huge smile. “You look different.”

Kagome smiled, and turned to Sesshomaru. She stood up and Sango immediately went to her side helping her into the hut. “I’ll leave this to you from here.” Kagome said to her mate.

Inside the hut she could hear Sesshomaru relaying the events of the past week to his ward and retainer. She smiled when he spoke tenderly of taking her as his mate. She heard Jaken squeak loudly, then she heard a loud thump. Then Jaken groaned in pain. ‘Humph, serves him right’ Kagome thought. Rin of course was delighted. She was clapping and repeating ‘hurray!’ over and over. Finally Sesshomaru said, “That’s enough Rin.”

A moment later Rin burst through the door flap and tackled Kagome in a hug. “Lady Kagome! I can’t believe it! I’m so happy! There’s no one in the world I would rather have as a mother!”

Kagome was a little shocked that Rin had just called her mother, but decided it was an honor, and returned her hug. “I’m happy that you are happy Rin! We’re going to have a great time as a family.”

Rin smiled and plopped down beside of her, until Shippo peeked in.

“Rin? Are you in there? Come on let’s go check out the fish in the stream behind the village.” Shippo called.

Through the years, they had occasionally spent time together during the many sibling rivalry battled of the two brothers. They were close to the same age, and both enjoyed exploring, so Rin was thrilled and ran out of the hut after him.

The next morning, bright and early, Jaken brought Ah-Un to the hut. Sesshomaru helped her on the back of the huge beast, and Rin happily skipped around below. They were headed back to the palace in the West. Sesshomaru’s wounds were healing nicely, as were Kagome’s, so he decided to return to his duties. Besides, he couldn’t wait to have his new mate all to himself.

He watched as Kagome hugged her friends tightly, and he stayed the growl that wanted to come out when she hugged the Houshi and Inuyasha. The fox kit ran past Rin and yelled, “You’re it!” The demon lord watched fondly as his ward took off after her new ‘brother’, as she affectionately now called Shippo. He wondered at his sanity for approving the young fox to join his little family, but it appeared that this could be excellent for Rin. If not Rin, then at least Jaken, for the imp seemed extremely happy that the girl was no longer chasing after him.

Kaede stopped them and held out her hand to Kagome. “Ye should not forget this, young Kagome.”

Kagome held out her hand for Kaede to drop the huge portion of the jewel. One single shard clinked against the other huge stone. She thought sadly of Sango’s little brother. ‘At least he can rest in piece.’ Once the jewel touched her skin the darkness began to gleam a pure pink light. Kagome smiled and put it with her own portion of the jewel in the little glass jar around her neck.
