It Still Hurt Me
"I... I'm sorry Inuyasha... I won't ever leave you..." now she knew they could move on...

Kikyou and Inuyasha lay together on the soft grass mats in their small warm hut. It had begun to snow outside, and the light frozen flakes gently piled up on the soft yellowed grass, and worn dirt paths. Kikyou shivered beneath her warm kimono blankets, Inuyasha turned over and put his arms around her, pulling her closer to him to keep her warm.
"Arigatou, Inu.. yasha..." she barely managed to whisper 'I love you' before she fell asleep. Her soft eyes coming to a covered rest. Inuyasha stayed awake, watching over her, just to make sure that she would always be his. And only his. 'Oh Kikyou, you don't know how you make me feel. It hurt me so much when you went off to help Kouga. But I guess that in a way you two are even, you helped him, and he saved you're life. Just please, don't leave me. I know I wouldn't live, without you.'
"Don't leave me..." he sighed, and then his eyes closed, and his mind went wandering into another world. It was a world swirling with colors, every shade and pigment was flying in circles, wrapping it's long lines around him, pulling him deeper and deeper. And then there was darkness, a few fireflies lit the way for him, but he didn't want to follow. This was the same re occuring dream, and he knew what awaited him at the end of the firefly path. But he did not have a choice, the colors of all now turned to a deep bloody red, and pushed him roughly. It's lines going through him, making him bleed and gasp for breath. He staggered forward to the same fate, and collapsing upon Kikyous body. He knew she was dead already, he knew that it was Naraku who had killed them both. And his eyes fluttered closed before he let out his last breath.
"Inuyasha!" called Kikyou into her hanyous ear, trying to shake him from this nightmere. "Inuyasha! Wake up!" she shook him gently, but found she had to be more violent that that. She called out his name atleast a dozen times before he finaly awoke. He sat up quickly and hugged Kikyou. Kikyou held him too, tears threatening their release. She had thought the worst of her hanyou koibito and she was so glad that it was not that way.
"Inuyasha... what's wrong?" she shut her eyes tightly, holding onto him with every ounce of strength she had. "Ki... Kikyou... you have no idea... how you make me feel..." he whispered. His own tears cried their fate. Coming to their destiny on the back of Kikyous haori, she felt them soak through. "Kikyou it hurt so much when you went back for Kouga. I know you don't really love him but... it still hurt me..." he held her out in front of him, looking into her deep brown eyes, she could see the pain in his golden ones, "It made me feel like I had lost you... and that was the worst thing I've ever felt."
Kikyou wiped his tears away, her soft fingers carresing the soft skin on his face. "Inuyasha... I love you always... I won't ever make you feel that again... I'm sorry." she leaned up to him, and he took her mouth willingly, letting out all his pain into his kiss. Now with a new reassurance that Kikyou was all his.
