A Sad Face

Chapter 10: A sad face
~*Sesshomaru*~
Sesshomaru looked down at his younger half-brother with a confused expression on his face. He couldn’t help it. His brother’s behavior was not normal. Something had happened to him. He was reminded of Inuyasha as a child. He would sometimes cry to him. Even though he had pushed the Hanyou away, the boy just kept insisting on returning to him instead of their father.
He frowned again, and kneeled down to look at his brother more carefully. He looked thoughtfully at his face and sighed.
“Inuyasha, what has happened that you have become so weak and pitiful? Has your wench run off with someone?” he asked thoughtlessly.
He clearly saw Inuyasha flinch and knew that he had hit something. Sesshomaru shook his head.
“You should have taken her as your mate before someone else did. Your very foolish Inuyasha.” He watched as Inuyasha’s eyes turned from hurt and sad, to angry and threatening.
“It wouldn’t have been what she wanted.” He growled under his breath. He suddenly looked very sad and looked off to the bushes and Sesshomaru clearly saw his /ears droop again.
He followed Inuyasha’s gaze, and for the first time he heard something that he had not yet heard. He growled at himself for not hearing it or even…He sniffed the air and wrinkled his nose. How had he missed this? He could smell it clearly now that it had been brought to his attention. He stood up and slowly made his way towards where the smell was coming from.
He was quite curious to see who had gotten to Inuyasha’s wench before even Inuyasha could. He looked out through the tall bushes and just barely managed to hold back a gasp of surprise. This was definitely something he had not expected. It was Kagome and Kikyo. He had not thought that either one of them even wanted to acknowledge each other’s existence.
He pulled his head back through the bushes and looked back over at Inuyasha who was looking as pitiful as ever. He sighed. This time Inuyasha had really been hurt. He thought back to when they had been children.
~*Flashback/Sesshomaru*~
Sesshomaru growled as he heard his younger half-brother fall off the rocks by the edge of the water. ‘Stupid child. He should watch what he is doing.’ He thought as he turned around to help the boy who had fallen into the rushing water. He expected to see Inuyasha struggling to grab onto a rock but when he turned around he could see a water kappa holding onto a struggling Inuyasha.
Sesshomaru’s heart skipped a beat and was immediately next to the water demon with his Katana out. Before the Kappa could even register what was going on, Sesshomaru had already sliced its head and caught the unconscious Inuyasha in his arms. He jumped out of the shallow water and onto the field next to it.
He placed the child on the grass and looked down at him. He wasn’t worried now. He knew that Inuyasha was still breathing and knew he would live. He frowned. ‘Stupid Hanyou, I was scared to death..’ Sesshomaru gasped as his own thoughts. He had been afraid when he saw his younger sibling under attack. He growled.
“Why do I care? He’s the son of that stupid human wench that my father has taken as his new wife. I should have just let him drown” he said to himself, trying to scold himself for his rash actions. But when he looked down at the sleeping child he couldn’t help but let a small smile slip through. He was so innocent, and quite cute for a half-demon. He was still so young but Sesshomaru could already tell that he was going to become a handsome and feisty demon.
~*End Flashback*~
He sighed at his recollection. Yes he had indeed worried about his brother. He had never admitted it to anyone. And did not want to admit it to even himself. But now that something was really wrong, he feared that his brother might do something stupid. He had already asked him to release him from this world. ‘He must be in so much pain.’ he though as he walked back over towards his younger brother. He deserved some sympathy.
~*Koga*~
Koga watched as the demon lord walked towards Inuyasha. What was he going to do? Would he kill him? Everyone knew how much Sesshomaru hated Inuyasha. He watched as Sesshomaru crouched down in front of the Hanyou and leaned forward to see what would happen. His heart started to beat a bit faster as he watched. They were so close…Was Sesshomaru about to…
Koga just watched them. Sesshomaru leaned down towards Inuyasha ear and cly why whispered something to him. Koga blinked. He had not heard what he had said. Sesshomaru picked up Inuyasha bridal style and jumped up into the air. Koga gasped. What was going on? He wanted to know what was going to happen. He ran after the two as Sesshomaru’s cloud formed underneath his feet and he started to float away with Inuyasha in his arms.
~*Inuyasha*~
Inuyasha just stared at the sky as his brother carried him through the air. He didn’t care what happened to him anymore. Everyone was betraying him. He just wanted to die. He looked down towards the ground and thought about struggling to get free. Then he’d fall to his death and it would all be over.
He saw a castle coming into view. It was beautiful and he recognized it vaguely. It had been his home during the younger years of his childhood. He looked up at Sesshomaru and wondered silently to himself why he was bringing him here. He closed his eyes and was soon asleep. And he began to dream…
A/N: ok this was really short I know. I just don’t feel like typing anymore today but I didn’t want to leave you guys hanging to long. Ill write more I promise!
