An Evening Out
Author’s n Sor Sorry about the rant last time guys. I was annoyed by all the people telling me that I was writing my story wrong. It’s a fan fic. There is no wrong way to write a fan fic unless you are answering a challenge, which gives you specific guidelines. Anyway, I’m sorry I keep giving you guy’s cliffhangers. But as long it keeps you guys interested, I will keep putting out chapters as fast as I can think of them. And for anyone that’s gets offended by the way Chris refers to herself in this chapter, I have a friend who is a lesbian and calls herself a dyke all the time. I think it’s that whole as long as other people aren’t saying it about me it’s ok kind of thing. Also I have no idea how the procedure for entering a Japanese dance club would be so chalk it up to creative license. All my love to my readers and reviewers.
Disclaimer: Haven’t figured a way to make it work so I still don’t own Inuyasha.
The group walked up the entrance of the club. The music coming from inside was well remembered from the days of high school. Kat grinned. They past year had been so damn hectic for everyone that it felt like ages since she had been able to go out dancing.
“So what’s the plan guys?” asked Stacy. Sakura looked at her quizzically.
“What do you mean, what’s the plan?” replied Sakura. “We have cash, we have id’s, and we’re at a club. I would think the plan is rather obvious.”
“Yeah dance and drink until we drop,” said Val. Stacy rolled her eyes.
“No, I mean are we prowling for guys or what?” she asked.
“We are most certainly not prowling!” snapped Sakura. “Jack would kill me!”
“Well besides you, sweetie. The rest of us are still single you know,” complained Stacy.
“Guy hunting sounds like a blast to me,” said Val with a smile. “After all, what kind of a vacation would it be if at least one of us didn’t come home with a story about a crazy foreign fling?”
“Well I don’t about the rest of you, but I highly doubt I’m gonna be prowling for guys. But, hey, you guys are more than welcome to help me pick up all the chicks I want,” said Chris.
“You know, you may be gay, but you don’t have to keep trying to ruin men for the rest of us,” snapped Stacy. Chris and Stacy glared at each other. Kat stepped forward and placed a hand on each of her two friends shoulders.
“You know my rule, Chris,” said Kat. “As long as you’re not trying to stick your face down my pants, I don’t care who you’re screwing.” The tension broke as they all burst into laughter. Kat gave Stacy a quick hug.
“How’s this sound?” Kat said, taking advantage of the laughter to try and fix the argument. “Stacy and Val can prowl for guys, Chris can prowl for women, and me and Sakura will just dance the night away since I have no desire to find a fling.”
“Well you’re not allowed to guy hunting anyway, Kit Kat, so that’s works out perfectly,” replied Stacy. Kat’s eyebrows shot up and she narrowed her eyes.
“Excuse me?” she asked. Stacy made an “oops” face as the rest of them glared at her. “Ok someone better explain that comment to me and fast.” Her friends looked at each other uncomfortably. Finally Val shrugged.
“Ok here’s the deal Kat. We decided that after you finally broke up with Mike that we are not going to let you just date any random guy. And before you get mad, just here me out. Look at your track record.”
“Every guy you’ve ever dated has been as asshole,” Sakura jumped in. “I mean even back in middle school, if the guy was a jerk, you found him attractive.”
“And they just kept getting worse,” said Chris. “I may be a man hating dyke, but these guys severely made my panic buttons go off.”
“So,” Val continued, “It’s not that we’re not gonna let you date anymore, but we just want to be able to help you screen out the really bad ones. After what Mike did….” She trailed off.
“You scared us really bad, Kat,” said Stacy. She looked like she was going to start to cry. “Mike was the worst one out of all of them, but none of them were good for you. The second a guy starts to call you a bitch, you swoon and decide it’s undying love. We just don’t want to see you keep picking guys that treat you like crap.”
Kat stood there dumbfounded by what her friends were saying. She knew that she had a bad record with guys, but it couldn’t be as bad as they were saying it was. Could it? She sig
“Ok guys, we’re gonna drop this for now because I wasn’t planning on looking for guys tonight anyway. But when we get back home, we are gonna have a long talk about this. Deal?”
“Deal, “ they replied in unison. They started to walk, but Stacy stopped them.
“So are we gonna go with Kat’s plan?” she asked. They all looked at each other.
“Sure,” said Val. “but we all know the rules, right?”
“Stay in each other’s sights as much as possible, don’t even use the bathroom by yourself,” recited Kat.
“Nobody drinks anything that they did not order for themselves,” said Stacy.
“Nobody goes outside of the club without at least one of us with them,” said Sakura.
“Nobody goes home with anyone other than one of us,” said Chris.
“That way nobody gets hurt and nobody dies,” they recited together. They had made these rules together years ago when a girl in their high school had been kidnapped at a club. Six days later the poor girls body had been found. The five of them had sworn to never let that happen to each other, and so far the rules had kept them safe.
“All right,” said Val. “Let’s party.”
Sesshoumaru pulled up to the club and climbed out. He handed the keys over to the valet and walked up to the door. A young man immediately met him at the door.
“Hello, sir welcome to The Lotus. How can I help you tonight?” asked the greeter.
“I would like a table with a good view of the dance floor.”
“Of course, sir, I just need to see your id.” Sesshoumaru pulled out his driver’s license. The man’s eye’s widened as he looked at the name on the card.
“Right this way Takahashi-sama. It is an honor to have your at our establishment tonight.” He escorted Sesshoumaru to a table and assured him that a waitress would by to help him shortly.
The music was pounding and loud. Thankfully years of living in Tokyo had taught him to deal with loud noises. He leaned back in his chair and swept his gaze around the room. He spotted two of her friends in a corner of the room. What were their names? He watched the blonde grin wickedly at the curly haired brunette she was talking to. Chris and Stacy, he remembered.
Chris leaned forward and whispered something in her companions ear which caused
Stacy to clasp her hands over her mouth and laugh. Well, he had found two of them, but where the one he wanted to see. He continued to look around the room. He saw the one named Val dancing rather heavily with a random young man. He shook his head. He could not believe the way people danced these days. The only thing came even somewhat close to the graceful dances of his era were the slow dances. He had been to several parties for different members of company. Weddings, anniversaries, that sort of thing. He had even danced at some of them. The way they danced was easy to pick up, but he felt disturbed by all of it. At least when he danced slowly, it had been sensual and something he did not mind. The faster dances screamed trash to him.
And then he saw her. She was in the middle of the dance floor with the girl named Sakura. He watched Kat as she danced, her head thrown back and a joyous expression on her face. He could not believe the amount of energy she was throwing into a simple evening’s diversion. She danced as if it were last night on this earth and was determined to enjoy every bit of it. And somehow she managed to make the normally trashy looking gyrations of her generation seem graceful and delicate.
Her hair was done up in a ponytail close to the top of her head, keeping theck rck red locks out of her face, but still allowing it to pour down her back like a wave of lava. She wore a pair of tight black pants and dark green shirt that hugged her curves without looking cheap. He watched as she threw her hands in the air and spun around, making the most of every movement of her body.
His mouth went dry and he took a sip of water from his glass without looking away. He was afraid to even blink, afraid that if he looked away for even a second she would disappear. He could see the aura of power that formed around her as she danced and nearly wept with joy. He may not have been able to fully trust his other senses, but he could trust his youki. That was Kagome’s energy, the same energy that had been Kikyo’s when she had been alive. One’s energy could not ever be changed. He was right. It was her. And judging from her reaction when he had met her earlier, she had no idea about any of it.
