Where to build a home (x)

Get ready for some tooth

Get ready for some tooth-ache friends...

10.
 Where to build a home?

Kagome
came back on the fifth day as she had promised and she handed over a carefully
wrapped package to Sango. The taijya unwrapped the gift and she gasped. Inside
was a white kimono with golden symbols sown into the back, it was a
wedding-kimono. Sango felt tears trickle her face and she hugged her friend from
the future hard.

-
Thank you Kagome-chan, it is so beautiful, cried Sango.

-
I am glad that you liked it. I saw it the other day and I knew it was
perfect for you my sister, said Kagome and began sobbing too.

-
I can’t thank you enough Kagome-chan.

-
Be happy and make a lot of little puppies with Inu-chan and I’m consider
that as payment, ok?

-
O-ok, stammered Sango and blushed deeply when she imagined silverhaired
children running around, wrecking havoc in the village.

They
hugged again and began talking about the wedding. Every now and then eruptions
of giggle and laughs could be heard from Kaede’s hut.

Inuyasha heard them and he smiled before he went back to work on the house. He
had much help from villagers and Miroku. If they kept up this pace the house
would be finished within a week. He had found a perfect spot outside the
village, it was still near enough, just a couple of minutes walk. But it was
secluded by the trees and it lay not far from the hot spring where he and Sango
had mated. He still could feel a bit ashamed because he had peeped in on her
bath, but in the end he was glad he did.  And after the house had been built he
could give Sango her wedding. He frowned for a moment; it meant that he too had
to get some kind of outfit. “Kaede-sama and Miroku-kun could probably help me
with that.”
He decided and nodded to himself. Yes, he would ask for their
help later that night. But still he wanted to surprise both Kagome and Sango
with something, so he would pick out the fabric for his wedding garment.

-
Miroku, I am going to the next village for a while, I will be back before
the sunset, said Inuyasha and waited for the monk to respond.

-
What are you up to now Inuyasha?

-
It will be a surprise, but I will need some help later both from you and
Kaede-sama.

-
Ok Inuyasha, be careful.

The
hanyou nodded and dashed off towards the neighbouring village.

It did
not take him to long to find what he was looking for. He smiled as he let the
soft silk glide through his fingers. It was perfect, white silk of good quality,
and he found some gold and red ribbons too. He would use the red ribbon to bind
her to him, and she would look pretty with red ribbons in her hair, he thought.
From the inside of his haori he gave the woman a little pouch with money.

And as
he promised he was back at the village before sunset and he looked up Kaede,
making sure Sango and Kagome was busy with something else.

-
What can I help with you Inuyasha? asked the one-eyed miko.

-
I saw Sango’s wedding dress and I wanted to have something to match that,
said Inuyasha and gave his little package. Can you make a wedding garment for me
of this stuff?

-
Of course Inuyasha, smiled Kaede and held up the two coloured ribbons.

-
The red ones are for Sango’s hair, I.. I thought she would look nice
w-with those, stammered Inuyasha and blushed wildly.

-
I never thought I would see the day I saw you buy ribbons for the
binding-ceremony Inuyasha.

-

-
But I am glad that I will.

She
hugged him and was happy when he returned her hug.

-
And I never would have thought I would tell you this either my boy, but I
will..

-
What? wondered Inuyasha and pulled out from her warm embrace a bit.

-
You know that I have no children, or even relatives left in life. But I
see you as a grandson and I would be very happy if you would call me baasan
instead of –sama, said Kaede and indeed she blushed lightly.

A
moment of silence.

-
Kaede-baasan, I would be honoured, said Inuyasha and kissed her wrinkled
cheek.

-
Well, I better get to work ne? said Kaede and nudged towards the textile.

Inuyasha smiled and darted off to the building site.

Kaede
watched as the silver haired youth disappeared and then she wiped a small tear
from her old eye. This had probably been the happiest day of her life. Within a
few moments she had a grandson and soon she would have a granddaughter.  And
knowing Inuyasha, it would not take him too long to make small puppies with
Sango either. This would be a day to celebrate for her later in her life.

Inuyasha was happy too, he would not admit it to anyone, not quite yet, but he
had seen the old lady as an older relative for a very long time now. And when
she asked him to call him grandmother his heart had flipped and he had kissed
her.

Miroku
saw the small goofy face of Inuyasha and he raised an eyebrow in a question
manner. He wanted to know what his friend was thinking about.

-
Oi Inuyasha, what’s with the face buddy?

-
Uhh?

-
You look funny.

-
Nothing, come on let’s get to work, we can still get some more done
before nightfall, said Inuyasha with a muffled voice. He managed to keep the
blush from his face and he cut a tree in half to make some balks for the house.

-
Ok, but I still am curious..

-
KEH!

Miroku
sighed; he knew he would not get a word out of the grumpy hanyou at this stage,
perhaps he would try a bit later.
