Kouga's Decision

Chapter7: Kouga’s Rage

Ginta burst breathlessly into Kouga’s den. “Kouga, my lord!” Kouga jumped out of bed to find out what Ginta was so worked up about. “What is it Ginta?” “Queen Nikah has been kidnapped!” Kouga’s blue eyes widened in disbelief. “What? Taken by whom? Where was she taken?” “Sesshomaru has taken her back to his palace my lord.” Kouga’s dark eyes glittered with anger as they narrowed into two slits.

“Sesshomaru has taken my woman?” “Yes my lord!” “Where is Marix? I want to know why he did nothing to save Nikah.” Ginta led a nervous Marix into Kouga’s den. “You sent for me lord Kouga?” “I did. Why the hell didn’t you do anything to save my mate? She’s pregnant with my pup Marix!” Marix bowed his head in shame. “Please forgive me Kouga, Sesshomaru threatened to slit Queen Nikah’s throat if I tried to stop him!”

Kouga grabbed Marix arm and yanked him up against him. “If my mate is harmed in any way you shall pay for your mistake with your life! Do you understand?” “Y-yes lord Kouga!” Kouga released his grip on Marix arm and turned to Ginta. “Ginta go summon my strongest warriors.” “Yes my lord!” Ginta ran off to quickly gather up Kouga’s warriors. “What shall I do your highness?” “You’ll come as well Marix, you’re a strong warrior. Maybe this time yl acl actually be able to help Nikah.”

Marix nodded as he followed Kouga outside. He saw five of Kouga’s best warriors. First he saw Hakakku with his large spear. Then he saw Kouji loading his smaller throwing spears into his fur pack. Beside Kouji stood Kitaru placing his sword in it’s sheath at his waist. Next to Kitaru stood the lovely but lethal Lucah armed with only her bow and arrows. Suzaku was the last of the warriors gathered.

He was wielding his set of sharp and very accurate daggers. Marix double checked to make sure that his boomerang was in it’s pack on his back. Kouga led the small band of warriors toward Sesshomaru’s palace in the western lands. Marix glanced over his shoulder at Lucah who was walking next to him on his left. She was beautiful and yet she had no clue at all. Marix had known Lucah all his life.

The two had grown up together as children, along with her older brother Kitaru. Lucah was small and toned with lean muscles underneath her bronzed skin. Her long dark brown hair was thick and hung down to the middle of her back. Marix watched as Lucah’s brown tresses whipped freely in the wind behind her as she walked behind Kitaru. Her brown fur top was flattering to her curves and showef hef her flat stomach. The short fur skin skirt that she wore came to rest at the middle of her toned thighs. She was like a goddess in Marix eyes but he had never told her how he felt.

Lucah felt Marix staring at her so she glanced up at him curiously with her hazel eyes. Marix immediately felt his cheeks burning with the blush that colored them and looked away. Kitaru turned back to look at the two behind him and smiled to himself. It was obvious to him that Lucah and Marix both liked each other but he knew that Marix was too scared to tell Lucah. The small band of warriors stopped at the edge of Inuyasha’s Forest. Kouga turned to speak to Ginta in private.

“My lord, do you think that we will be strong enough to save Queen Nikah from Sesshomaru?” “Ginta, I need you to summon Inuyasha for me. I fear that even my strongest warriors will be no match for Sesshomaru.” “My lord, you wish for Inuyasha to help you?” “Yes Ginta, as much as I hate to seek out dog boy’s help I still have no other choice if I wish to have my mate and unborn pup returned unharmed.” “I will be back shortly my lord.” Kouga nodded and watched Ginta as he headed into the forest.”

Lucah pushed her way through the group and up to Kouga. “My lord, why are we stopping here? It is still a ways until we reach Sesshomaru’s territory.” “I know that Lucah. I sent Ginta to ask Inuyasha for his help in fighting Sesshomaru.” “But I thought that you hated Inuyasha?” “I do hate him! That dog is the reason that I was unable to mate with the woman that I was first in love with. But I still need his help in getting my mate back from his murderous brother.”

Lucah frowned at Kouga’s willingness to seek help from his enemy. She thought carefully for a moment and then decided to speak up about her diaspproval of Kouga’s decision to form an alliance with Inuyasha. “Lord Kouga, I do not think it is very wise of you to trust that half breed dog demon Inuyasha.” Kouga gave a low growl as his dark blue eyes swept over Lucah’s small frame. Lucah flinched a little but then forced herself to stand stock still.

Without warning Kouga reached out and grabbed her right arm forcefully. The others watched in utter silence as Kouga yanked the small female up against him until his nose was touching hers. “The last time I checked I was still in charge Lucah! So until you are leader of this pack or another one my decision stands! Understand?” Lucah squeezed her hazel eyes shut tightly not wanting her tears to be shed in front of Kouga. Kouga shook her roughly. “Answer me Lucah, do you understand?” “Yes my lord, I’m sorry for my outburst. It won’t happen again.”

Kouga released his grip on Lucah’s arm and shoved her away from him. Lucah stumbled over her feet and fell to the ground with a dull thud. Kouga stared down at her with blazing dark blue eyes that were filled with rage. “See that you don’t let that happen again Lucah, because next time I might not be so forgiving!” Lucah shuddered involuntarily as Kouga turned his back on her. Her older brother Kitaru helped her to her feet slowly. “Are you okay Lucah?” She nodded too embarrassed to speak or even make eye contact with him.

Marix strode over to Lucah and put his hand on her shoulder lightly. Lucah’s tear filled hazel eyes met his brown eyes hesitantly. “If you’re going to ask me if I’m okay don’t bother.” “Lucah, what happened over there?” “I just was out of line and Kouga put me back in my place.” “He didn’t have to be so rough with you.” “Don’t get upset Marix, Kouga is just upset about Nikah that’s all.” Marix shook his head as Lucah tried to brush off the incident like it was nothing.
