A.N-This is my first fanfic and it took me weeks to come up with. I noticed that there are a few Evanescence fans here so I hope you guys like my fic. R&R please!!

Chapter 1
Kagome’s POV.
What did I do to deserve this? I give him all my love and get nothing in return. Every night he sneaks off to be with Kikyo and do god knows what with her. /Why do I even care? /

Icons of self indulgence*
I can’t believe I ever thought I had a chance with him. Now he’s sitting by the fire lost in thought. Most likely thinking about her. Sango and Miroku are discussing where we should head to next and Shippo is asleep with Kirara on my sleeping bag. Inuyasha’s nose suddenly twitches.
“Um…Guys I’m gonna get more firewood, kay?”
Everyone grunted an approval except for me.
*Just what we all need
More lies about a world that…*
He disappears into the forest. I’ve had enough. I make up some excuse about going to help him and follow him quietly.
*Never was and never will be
Have you no shame don’t you see me
You know you’ve got everybody fooled*
I walk for a while making sure to keep some distance between us. It almost seems like I’m lost when I hear grunts and moans in a clearing up ahead.
*Look here she comes now
Bow down and stare in wonder*
What I find doesn’t shock me as much as I thought it would. Inuyasha is poised between a flushed Kikyo’s legs, fucking her brains out. They don’t notice me yet. In his excitement Inuyasha let his guard down. I can feel the anger rising deep within me.
*Oh how we love you
No flaws when you’re pretending
But now I know she…*
“So…where’s the firewood?”
He looks up with a start and almost drops Kikyo.
“K-Kagome…? I know w-what it looks like but…”
I put a hand up to silence him. The tears are now visibly running down my face. Kikyo dresses quietly with a smirk on her face.
“Don’t even start,” I sob, “I’m tired of this Inuyasha. I’m tired of giving my entire soul to someone who doesn’t give a shit. This is the last time you hurt me...”
*Never was and never will be
You don’t know how you’ve betrayed me
And somehow you’ve got everybody fooled*
I run through the forest, tears streaming down my face. I don’t know how I did it but I found my way back to camp. Miroku and Sango immediately jump up when they see my state.
“Kagome what happened!” Sango cries.
“That…bastard…” I manage to breathe out before breaking down into sobs. My friends try to calm me by rubbing small circles on my back. Inuyasha emerges from the forest. I can sense Kikyo behind him.
*Without the mask where will you hide
Can’t find yourself lost in your lie*
“What happened to her?!” Miroku half screams.
“How the fuck should I know?” he replies. Sango and Miroku were surprised by his sudden change of attitude. I pick my self off of the floor and compose my self.
“Why don’t you ask Kikyo what happened” I ask sarcastically. Sango finally notices Kikyo and understands everything. Everyone is quiet as I gather up my things. I carefully pick up the still sleeping Shippo and give him to Sango.
“When he wakes up tell him I love him.”
Sango nods her head in agreement.
“And where the hell are you going wench?!” he shouts.
*I know the truth now
I know who you are
And I don’t love you any more*
“I’m leaving Inuyasha,” I say coolly, “and I’m taking my shards of the Sacred Jewel with me.”
I grab my bike and walk off. He reaches for me but Miroku stops him.
“You’ve hurt her enough.,” he says, eyes glaring.
“Where will you go Kagome?” Sango asks.
“I’m still gonna collect the shards, but I’ll do it by my self.”
She nods and gently cradles Shippo in her arms. Inuyasha is glaring daggers at me, but if he even thinks about taking a step further, Miroku and Sango will make sure he never walks right again. With one last look around, I walk off into the night.
