Chapter 1

Double the Trouble

A/N: This is my sequel to Abroad! Yay! Sorry it took so long to do it, my computer broke, so we stopped paying for internet, and now I’m at my mom’s house for a week and hope to finish this story while I’m here. I did think about pairing Sesshoumaru with Hiei; however I already had a pairing in mind for this story considering it is to feature the twins. Therefore, to satisfy my reviewer, I will write a Sesshoumaru and Hiei story at a later date, though not too sure what the plot is going to be.

I realized that I never explained The Lost Colony. I will do that now. The demons in the lost colony were a type of fairy and were sided with the fairies. They did not want to go to a world made by Miko-sama (Kagome) because she was human, so they tried to create their own world.

Alright, now, this story will NOT feature Artemis, rather on Beckett and Myles Fowl, who are going to be 20 in this story. But I’m only going to have Artemis be 30. Anyway this story features the twins and them visiting Artemis in America. They, on their own, well Myles at least, have found out almost everything that Artemis knows. The only thing they don’t know about is the demon world and the spirit detectives.

Beckett stood in the busy airport nervously, pulling his long blonde curls into a tight pony tail to occupy himself. He glanced at Myles and smiled nervously at his brother, who rolled his dark blue eyes in return. Beckett had grown to enjoy the simple things in life. He enjoyed spending his time in his bedroom reading while Myles, on the other hand, spent every night out with friend partying. Beckett had to study hard to stay in the private school, while Myles seemed to know everything without trying. The older twin always felt as if he had to keep up with Myles but that the young was ten steps ahead of him in every way. “Do you think he’ll recognize us?”

Once more, Myles rolled his eyes. “It’s only been 2 years since we saw Artemis, simpleton. I’m positive he will.”

Though they were twins, the two looked nothing alike. Beckett, the older twin, had long sand blonde hair and pale blue eyes. He was shorter then both brothers, only standing at 5’8” tall, and was also not nearly as smart as the two of them. Myles, on the other hand, had dark black hair like Artemis and dark, piercing blue eyes. He was taller than his older siblings, standing over six feet tall. While Beckett preferred American Eagle clothing styles, Myles was almost always dressed in Tripp pants and black shirts with band logos. No one could even tell they were related, much less twins.

“Yeah, well, I had my hair short back then. And you’ve grown a foot taller!” Beckett said, making his way towards the exit.

Juliet Butler was following behind them, rolling her eyes. She highly doubted that Artemis would ever forget any of his family of friends. “Come on boys, I’ll get the taxi to take us to his place.” She said with a yawn.

“I heard your family was coming into town,” Morgan said from over the conference table. The entire team from Quantico was packing up from the latest case.

Artemis looked up from the file he had been reading. “Yes, this is correct.” He commented before closing his folder and filing it away. “My brothers arrived,…” He looked at his watch, “two hours ago.”

“Oh,” Spencer spoke, “Will they be coming here?”

“I didn’t know you had siblings,” Jayjay commented next.

Artemis sighed. He hadn’t shared much about himself with his teammates in the five hears he had been working there. “Yes. They are my younger siblings. I believe they are 17 now.”

Everyone stared at him for a second, surprised at the shared knowledge. Normally the only person Artemis ever talked to was Spencer, and even then it was more of an intellectual conversation then anything friendly. And then, as if on cue, Hotch came into the room, Beckett, Myles, and Juliet in tow.

“Arty!” Juliet cooed, giving the man a hug. “It’s been years!”

“Sister?” Morgan asked.

Artemis sighed. “No. She is a friend of the family. Albeit an annoying one.” He hugged her back, and then turned to look at his siblings. “Beckett…Myles. You two have grown.”

Beckett smiled and shook his brother’s hand. “You haven’t changed much. We stopped by your place on the way here. There were two guys inside. Your roommates?”

The room fell silent for a second. Everyone turned to look at Artemis, but the genius didn’t look phased. “Yes. Hiei and Shuichi are friends from Japan.”

“They seemed…odd.” Myles spoke, looking bored. “Can we get outta here? People are staring.”

“Well, if you would dress normal they wouldn’t stare.” Beckett teased, sticking out his tongue.

The younger twin rolled his eyes. “Normal is merely an illusion created by man, you simpleton.” He scoffed and placed his hands in his pockets. “There was a girl too,” He started slowly. “She was our age.”

Artemis furrowed his brows before realization dawned on him, “Oh, yes. Minerva’s girl. She will only be here for a week. She lives in Japan with Minerva and Yusuke. She wanted to visit before she started graduate school.”

The group talked for a few more minutes before heading out. The drive wasn’t too far, but Artemis had chosen to buy a large house away from the main roads in the quiet country side. It was a nice house with 5 bedroom and three full bathrooms. There were three stories and had a nice wrap around porch along with a balcony on the second story.

“I’m back!” Artemis called as the group of four entered the home. “Shuichi, Hiei, where are you?”

“In here!” Kurama called from the living room, the group following his voice. “Ah, I see your brothers made it to you safely. As you can see, Elise has come to visit.”

Minerva and Yusuke’s daughter was a very beautiful young woman. She had long black curls naturally highlighted with blonde streaks. Her eyes were a bright green and danced with knowledge beyond her 16 years of life. She inherited her brains from her mother, having already graduated high school and having obtained two different bachelor’s. However, she obtained her father’s strength and spiritual awareness. She was already able to use not only the spirit gun, but also a spirit sword, and a spirit bow and arrow.

The young woman stood from her spot on a plush love seat. “I believe I saw you two earlier. I am Elise Akiko Urameshi.” She bowed before the twins. “It is a pleasure to make your acquaintances.”

Beckett smiled and held out his hand. “I’m Beckett, and this is–”

“Myles,” He shrugged nonchalantly passed her and seated himself on the couch opposite of Hiei. He stretched his arms out and gave a bored look, though he gave Elise a once over. “It certainly is a pleasure.”

“Myles.” Artemis warned. “I’ll have no of it in my house.” He sighed. “Juliet, would you make us some dinner.”

The woman nodded. “I’ll have you know I’m missing wrestle mania for this.” She scoffed, finding her way out of the room. The Fowl sibling shook their heads at her. She was near 40 and still had an obsession with wrestling.

“So, Elise.” Myles drawled, ignoring his brother’s request, “Are you seeing anyone.”

The young woman sighed. She was going to be polite to them at first, but she had her father’s temper. “Let’s get one thing straight Fowl; I have no interest in you or anyone from your family. I am too busy with school to waste my time on a suitor.”

“Now, now Elise. Calm down.” Kurama tried to reason with her. “Now, let’s just spend the evening getting to know one and another.”

Hiei stood, stoic as ever. “I would be hanged.” He spoke before exiting the house.

Everyone was silent for a moment. “Well, he seemed nice.” Beckett chuckled awkwardly. Once everyone took a seat, he looked to the red head with a curious look. “So, how long have you known Artemis?”

Confused, he turned to his lover. “Did you not…?”

Guilty, the man looked away. “No. I…”

“Don’t worry.” Kurama smiled softly before looking back at the younger Fowl. “I have known him since we were 18. I was the one he stayed with when he first moved to Japan.” He explained slowly. He was not surprised that the eldest Fowl sibling had not told his family about their…relationship. It was hard for him to even tell his mother. Still, it had been uplifting and joyous when she told them that she would love Kurama no matter what.

“What do you have to do around here?” Myles broke the moment with the rough question. “It’s getting kinda boring in here.”

“Hey, are there any arcades around here?” Beckett asked, excited. “I’m so glad it’s finally spring break. Those lectures will fry your brains.”

The youngest Fowl rolled his eyes. “Maybe for someone of average intelligence like you.”

“Boys, calm down.” Artemis spoke, rubbing his temples. “After dinner we can head into town if that is what you would like.”

“Speaking of which, I think I will go help Jewels.” Elise spoke, standing from her seat. “I’ll let you know when it’ll be ready.”

“How about you two go help her.” It came out more like a command then a suggestion. The boys grumbled to themselves and followed the Urameshi daughter into the kitchen. Immediately, they were greeted with the aroma of a delicious diner cooking for them.

“Need any help, Juliet?” Beckett asked, standing by her and the stove.

Myles spotted Elise bending over to retrieve something from the fridge and smirked, coming up behind her, “Need any help?” He whispered huskily.

She yelped and turned around to slap him, but he caught the hand with ease. “Why you pompous, arrogant, egotistical asshole!” She narrowed her eyes and pulled her wrist roughly out of his grasp. “You better watch out, Fowl. You don’t know who you are dealing with.” The two locked eyes in a glaring contest for a minute before Myles was pulled away by his twin.

“Be nice.” The older twin hissed. “We aren’t looking to start any trouble for Artemis. Find you a girl as a bar or something,” He said quietly, dragging his brother away from the enraged female.

Then something peculiar happened. Time seemed to stop around them. All noises ceased, Juliet was frozen in place. Beckett, Myles, and Elise were the only ones who were aware of this. They looked around them, confused.

“What sort of Fairy magic is this?” Myles asked nervously, his hand moving towards the switch blade he had hidden in his belt.

“How do you guys know about Fairies?” Elise asked suspiciously.

The room was silent once more as the three eyed each other nervously.

Suddenly, a woman in a white robe appeared before them. Immediately, Elise bowed down onto one knee. She yanked the twin’s arms for them to do the same. “Miko-sama,” The young Urameshi breathed out shakily. “Did you do this?”

The woman’s face was hid from view, but the three could see her cerulean eyes staring down at them. She nodded her head slowly. “I have a request of you.” She spoke softly, her voice masked in a haze of sweet melodies. “I wish for the three of you to aide Aneko here in a tournament. The spirit detectives are not allowed to join you see. The prize is a jewel.”

“A heart?” Myles asked, standing after his composure came back to him. “What would we do with a jewel?” He scoffed.

Kagome turned sharp eyes to him. “It is not any jewel you foolish child,” She bit out, “it is a jewel containing the evil of a hanyou I defeated long ago. It was recovered in the human world for over a hundred years before the demons found out. They stole it in the cover of the lunar eclipse and now are having a tournament to see who is the strongest of them to see who shall receive it and be commander and leader of a demon army headed for the human world. Rules were placed on who could enter and they have shut out the spirit world. Even the demons lords and lady have put together a team; however I do not think they will win. You four may be our only chance.”

“Once condition.” Beckett spoke up, also standing, despite Elise pulling on his arm and whispering her protests, “Artemis has to join us. He’s not a spirit detective, whatever that is. But he does have enough magic in his veins to stop a few demons.”

Miko-sama nodded and a second later Artemis came running into the room, eyeing the scene nervously. “Artemis-san.” She spoke softly. “I apologize for the intrusion.”

Once she re-explained the situation, he furrowed his brows and closed his eyes. “I don’t want my brothers involved. They don’t know anything about this type of thing.”

“We trained with Butler!” The youngest fowl spoke with clenched fists. “And I know all about you and the fairies! We know everything!”

It was possible one of the few times Artemis was truly surprised and dumb founded. They argued for a long time before Aneko, who was standing behind Miko-sama, finally had enough. “Stop bickering! This is happening! The world depends on us and you are all being selfish!” She yelled, glaring at them.

The three siblings looked at each other, but it was Elise who spoke up first. “Alright. We’ll do it.”
