What Sleeps Beneath the Houshi

Fulfill the Mission

The night was silent with the red blood moon full and close to the Earth. It was a moon riddled in omens. Everything seemed still and hushed as if afraid for death to come seek them out all save for an image in a white baboon pelt running through the foliage of the forest. Images of his incarnates fused in to the back of his mind. His second the wind wielder, he made her beautiful, strong, arrogant and with a mind of her own. He always wondered why he created someone with so much will, but it added to her beauty. He had killed her of coarse simply because her mission had been fulfilled. He had to smirk as he remembered the last time he saw her face, pure hatred filtered out, she was by far his best creation for even in her dying moments her hate made her beautiful. And Kanna, his first creation; childlike she would remain forever, yet she had a cold eerie feel to her aura that even unnerved him at times. Even her cold beauty made him proud. Then he thought about all his others, but, they were not significant enough, for they failed to do one thing. Kill Inuyasha or at least make their failure entertaining, until he came to the last two, Akago and Hakudoushi.

“Curse them, how could they turn on me! How could they betray me?!”

Though he knew if the sandal were on the other foot, he would do the same thing. And in some odd way, it made him proud that they would be so defiant, but the situation still angered him nonetheless.

No matter where he went they could find him. They had his thoughts, his foresight. They knew what lay in the deepest recesses of his heart. No, not they...'him'... Akago.’ The one Kanna was ordered to safeguard against his enemies. The child that he sought the obscure stone for so that no one could locate Akago’s scent and destroy him. The one thing that could bring Naraku’s reign of tyranny and suffering to its end and now Akago turned on him.

He saw a quick pink and white blur run in front of him and Naraku stood tall and let his baboon pelt fall elegantly to the ground.

“Hehehe, you both would be nothing without me you know. I am your father, your creator!”

“Father, don’t take this personal” as he raised his glaive in preparation to fight.

Naraku growled and slashed out a long tentacle with spikes on it. Hakudoushi dodged effortlessly and smiled.

“Oh come on old man, is that all you’ve got?”

Naraku jumped into the air and changing his body into a spider like creature prepared for another attack. However, Hakudoushi didn’t give him another opportunity. The incarnate knelt down holding his glaive up when Naraku landed on top of the boy; Hakudoushi had his weapon held up and gave a piercing cut straight up into Naraku’s brain. The hanyou’s garnet colored eyes widened in shocked pain as his black miasmic blood started to slide down into his beautiful brown locks. He metamorphed back into his original form and memories started to run through his mind. All the people he’s come across and all the people he hurt. For this?

Hakudoushi stood over him a sardonic smile on his pretty face. He pulled his weapon out and licked at the blood.

“This really does break my heart you know…oh wait…I don’t have one, pity.”

“How…can you….”

Naraku sputtered with blood coming out of his mouth then closed his eyes gracefully and met unconsciousness.

The young man then took this opportunity to use a spell to engulf his patron and seal him away for eternity, inside a garnet stone, for like himself; Naraku could not die unless his brother with the heart of Onigumo died too.

Looking around the area one last time he turned into a ball of light and went to his brother.

“Myouga, The time is drawing near; I trust that you know what to do right?”

The little flea youkai bowed deeply toward the ancient woman who was looking up at the scarlet blood moon. Her silver locks of hair wisped in the breeze as she smiled at the quickly fleeing youkai who was to do her bidding.

“My visions are true, they will need this gift for what we are all about to face.”

She said in a whisper knowing that he heard even though he was far enough away. She turned around her white furs wrapped around her form. She looked up to the moon and shimmered into the night.
