A Human Body With a Demon Soul
A/N: Oh damn… my third fanfic. Um… I don’t know what to say now. Just wow…
Chapter one: The curse
Sesshomaru sat before a tree, his anger burring deep within him. How could he have been this careless? He let his guard down for just a moment, and this is what happened to him. He looked own at his hands, no longer clawed, and growled in anger. Even his growls sounded pathetic. He longed to hear his beast cry out, but he couldn’t hear it. Not anymore. His father was weak; his insufferable half brother was weak, and now, he was even weaker then them. He was human.
~ Flashback ~
“Lord Sesshomaru, wait up!” Jaken cried.
The inuyokai didn’t even pay attention as he continued to walk. He could feel strong power coming from the caves ahead, and he was curious to what it was. It smelled of no demon, but it didn’t smell like a human. “Jaken.” His voice was short and clipped. “Stay here and wait with Rin. I will return.” With that he took of running. If this foe was truly a threat, he couldn’t allow the two to slow him down.
Finally reaching the caves, he stopped. “Who are you?”
A woman walked out, her kimono white and flowing. “You are Sesshomaru are you not?” Her voice sounded soft, warm and inviting.
His golden eyes narrowed as he watched her carefully. “You know this Sesshomaru?”
She smiled and bowed. “I am Yurara. I am a witch who aided your father two hundred years ago. I suspect that the great Inutaisho passed his title to you Sesshomaru-sama. For you are now the great inuyokai now. The Taiyokai of the west. But without your arm, your power was cut in half. Are you aware that there are those to seek your arm for that power?”
Sesshomaru arched a silver eyebrow. She knew a lot about him, but for his arm… “I care not about that arm. It was a mistake I made, that I will never make again.”
Yurara gave a small nod. “You lost it to your brother if rumor tells.” Her red eyes took the demon’s appearance in. “Your silver hair, golden eyes are so much like your fathers. You also carry a mokomoko just like Inutaisho did.”
“You speak of my father as if you were friends with him.”
She smiled warmly. It reminded him of the spring summer. “I helped your father chose a human. Though because I did, I’m sure you now hate me because of it.”
He had enough with this woman. She was no threat to him. The power he must have sense must have been something else. She just seemed to be some small witch. That could be the only explanation to why he couldn’t tell what she was.
“Wait Sesshomaru-sama.”
Instantly his body froze against his will. The power rose once more and he realized that he had been mistaken. With a growl, he began to rise his demonic aura to break the spell she had cast on his being. “What are you?” He growled.
Yurara moved in front of him and grabbed the stub of an arm. “Helping you.” She purred.
Pain shot though his left side as he felt his arm being replaced. The miasma that caused his arm not to regrow began to dissipate and with a sickening sound, his arm regenerated quickly. A painful growl escaped his lips as the pain echoed though his body. He refused to scream.
Sesshomaru turned his angry look at the witch, his plans on killing her would go quickly. As he lashed out at her, he toppled over, his body feeling unbelievably weak. Black hair brushed against his face, and when he realized it wasn’t Yurara’s, but his, he did all he could not to panic.
“What have you done to me witch?” He growled. His body felt empty. No beast growled with him, no demonic energy called out to him. His senses were dull. It was like someone placed a cloth over his nose, plugged his ears, and dimmed his sight.
“You wished to be strong Sesshomaru-sama.” Her voice became cold as she looked down at him. “To be strong, you first must be weak. I’ve returned you your arm, but you are no longer a yokai. Instead you have become what you hate the most. A human being. Till you realize what it is to be strong, you will continue to stay human. I just pray that you will learn this lesson before you are killed.” With that she disappeared.
~ End flashback ~
Sesshomaru continued to sit beneath the tree, his anger leaving him slowly. In all his five hundred years, he had no idea what to do next. He always had a plan in everything he did. And if something didn’t go as he planed, he always had a backup plan. And if that failed, which it rarely did, he would allow himself time to recover first before he made another.
Without showing himself, he told Rin and Jaken to go back to his castle without him. He couldn’t show himself to them yet. Not till this curse was broken. For now, he would figure out how to break it. But how? She did tell him to break it he must learn the meaning of being strong. But he already knew that answer. So why now? Why couldn’t he get his demonic energy back now?
“Inuyasha!”
Instantly Sesshomaru tensed up as he heard Inuyasha’s bitch scream at him. He believed her name was Kagome if he heard right. He had to get out of there soon. If Inuyasha saw him now, there would be no end of torment. And this time, he couldn’t do anything to shut that half-breed’s mouth.
“I know I smell him Kagome!” Inuyasha yelled back.
It was too late. Sure, Inuyasha’s sense of smell was worse then his was, but even if he hid now, Inuyasha would find him.
“That’s weird, I don’t feel his demonic presence.” Their voices were getting closer to him.
In last act of desperation, Sesshomaru easily climbed up the tree he was sitting underneath. He just hoped that his brother was just as idiotic as he acted on the battlefield.
Inuyasha appeared right where he was sitting and looked around. “I know I smelled Sesshomaru around here.” He growled. “He smells a bit different, but I know its him.”
Kagome sighed, walking over to him. “Sango and Miroku even said they didn’t’ sense his presence. I think your getting a bit paranoid Inuyasha.”
Inuyasha sniffed the air once more, then slowly, very slowly, he looked up.
Sesshomaru cursed under his breath. So his brother wasn’t that stupid as he hoped. “Inuyasha.” He said, spite dripping in every syllable.
Inuyasha just stared at him. Sesshomaru looked completely different from before. His long silver hair had become obsidian black, as well as his golden eyes. The markings that donned his face had disappeared as well. “Who are you?”
Sesshomaru just arched an eyebrow. “You are more idiotic then I believed.” He jumped out of the tree and sighed. He no longer wore his armor, and his Mokomoko was gone as well. On his side, he wore just the Tenseiga. Toukijin, his armor, and the mokomoko left with Jaken and Rin. He made sure that the fur was wrapped around the Toukijin so the sword wouldn’t possess Rin, Jaken, and even himself. The armor was too heavy for his now weak form, and he longed to find himself new armor. The only thing he wore was his white kimono and black shoes.
Kagome gasped as she took a good look at him. Her hands covered her mouth in disbelief. “Sesshomaru-sama?” She whispered.
Inuyasha’s golden eye’s widened, his gaze moving between him and Kagome. “Kagome you’re kidding. Sesshomaru’s a demon. This guy’s just a human.”
The once Inuyokai’s eye’s narrowed. Anger taking over him once more, he lashed out at Inuyasha, punching him hard in the face. Or at least as hard as he could. He felt bones crack, but it wasn’t his brother’s. Pain instantly shot though his right hand.
“Insufferable half-breed.” Sesshomaru cursed, trying hard not to show his pain.
Inuyasha blinked, even more confused as ever. Sure, the punch hurt, but it felt as hard as Shippo hit him. No, the fox hit harder then that. Then the words came afterwards, and that voice.
“Sesshomaru…?”
He glared at him as hard as he could. “What Inuyasha?” He snapped.
“Your… human?” Once he came to the realization about it, the hanyuu fell over laughing. “The…The great…and powerful… Sesshomaru is…is no more then…a weak human!”
/As soon as I get my demonic energy back, I’m going to rip his intestines out and choke him with them./ He noted to himself. /Then I’ll hang him in a tree and whip his dyeing body over and over again. And that will be just the beginning./
“Inuyasha! Sit!” Kagome snapped. As Inuyasha whimpered from his hole, Kagome approached him. “What happened Sesshomaru-sama?”
“It’s none of your business Miko.” He snapped at her. He didn’t need her pity either.
Kagome huffed and placed her hands on her side. “It is my business if I want it to be. I hate to break it to you Sesshomaru-sama, but yes, you were the most powerful yokai around, but now you’re a human. You don’t know how to protect yourself now that your strength is gone. And from the look of it, you’ve already broken your knuckles from hitting Inuyasha there. Let us help you.”
“Excuse me Kagome,” Inuyasha grunted, sitting up. “If you forget, he’s the one who’s tried to kill us over and over again. And just for the Tetsusaiga. What makes you believe that he’s going to want to come with us? And on top of that, what makes you think that I’m going to let him join our group?”
Kagome huffed and placed her fist on her hips. “Because Inuyasha, he’s helped us out more then you think he has. When the band of seven came by, he saved my life at least once. When Sou’unga attacked and kidnapped both Rin and I, he rescued the both of us. I’m paying you back from saving me by helping you find the shards. I have done nothing to repay him for saving me those times.”
Sesshomaru kept his mouth shut. Both times was a mistake. He was just passing by when he killed Mukotsu, and he saved her from his father’s sword when he was actually saving Rin. But it would be wise to go with them. Sure he would have to deal with his moronic brother, but he could figure out how to get his yokai back while he was with them. On top of it all, he could also figure out what was so special about the miko. She captured Rin’s heart, and she was apparently more powerful then he would have thought.
“I will go with you.” His voice was sharp as he said those words.
Inuyasha’s jaw dropped before he stood up and grabbed Sesshomaru by the cuff of his Hakuma. “Hell no you bastard. Give me a good reason why I shouldn’t kill you here and now.” He growled.
Sesshomaru’s black eyes narrowed. “Because you would rather kill me when I’m at my strongest. Now when there’s a curse and I’m nothing more then a human.”
Inuyasha bared his teeth and pushed Sesshomaru away. “Fine, you can come with us, but only till your curse is broken. Till then, don’t get in my way.”
He stood and brushed the dirt off his clothes.
“Inuyasha!” Kagome yelled at him as she watched the silver haired demon walk off. With a huff, she walked over to Sesshomaru, helping him out. “Come on, I have some bandages for your hand.”
“Don’t touch me.” He growled, ripping his hand away from her. “I’m only doing this to benefit myself. Not because you asked me to. Do not think that this Sesshomaru needs your sympathy.” With that, he followed after Inuyasha, knowing he was going back to camp.
Kagome sighed softly. Till Sesshomaru broke his curse, she could tell that things were going to get very hectic. She just hoped that she could help the two brothers make peace.

A/N: So? What do you think? You see, this idea came to me when my Sesshomaru and I were talking on the phone. Funny conversation really. But the idea came to me and hit me like a brick. So tell me what you think and please review.
