THIS IS A CALL
Chapter One

“Kagome?!” Ayumi, Yuka, and Eri called waving.

It had been a whole two months without any schooling and without any friends from her own time. Kagome hadn’t been in the feudal era this time; she’d been at home taking care of her mother. Kagome’s mother Ms. Higurashi has been losing the fight with cancer for some time now. Kagome knew that within a few more months her mother will pass on to the next world.

Souta has been keeping an eye on the shrines chores; it’s been closed since there’s nobody to really take care of it. Grandpa had passed on already a few years earlier. Now it was up to Souta and Kagome to run the shrine since their beloved mother couldn’t get out of bed anymore.

“Hey guys. How’s life going?” Kagome asked her friends.

It had been a few years since Kagome fell into the well. Now she was eighteen years old and was a month away from graduating high school. She had to work extra hard just in order to get all the credits she needed to graduated. She had to ‘sit’ Inuyasha more than a few times, and even to go so far as threaten to pin him to the tree like Kikyo had done.

She had learned a while ago not to take anybody’s shit any longer. Inuyasha was no longer the love of her life, even though he still thought he was. She didn’t go everywhere he wanted or do everything he wanted. She even stopped cooking for him when he got his ‘I’m the leader so do everything’ attitude.

When Inuyasha would beat on Shippo, Kagome would smack Inuyasha and sit him into oblivion. It just pissed her off when he would beat on those that are smaller than he. She would give him the evil eye when he was close to doing it or even threatening her kit. She had legally (in the feudal era) adopted Shippo as her son.

“We’ve missed you so much Kagome. How’s your mom doing?” Eri asked?

“I’m sorry, but I have to go back. I forgot something at home. I’ll be back soon girls.” Kagome said as she started on her way back home.

She hated talking about her mother with people that actually knew her. She was stronger now, because she had to be. She even came off cold to some in the feudal era. She could probly give Sesshomaru a run for his money on the iciness. Inside though she wasn’t as strong as she seemed, of course she wouldn’t let anyone know that. Nobody could ever know that inside she was broken into tiny pieces.

As she walked she remembered all the good times her and her mother had together. She saw the little candy shop her mother had taken her to when she was five and she had gotten over five pounds of candy. She looked across the street and found the dress shop she got her first dance dress. She saw the book store, and the market, all these places reminded her why she could never show her emotions.

When she got home she dropped her stuff on the porch and ran to the well. She jumped in without even thinking about it. When she got on the other side it was raining. She kept her cold attitude present no matter what. She was strong no matter what anyone thought about her.

She climbed out and started running towards the village her friends were living at. She jumped over a fallen log and jumped right into the arms of Sesshomaru himself.

The rain had made her white shirt cling to her body, showing off her bra. Her green skirt clung to her legs and when she landed in his arms it was with his hand under her skirt on her ass with her leg curved around his leg. His other hand landed behind her neck holding her to him.

Both were shocked by how natural the pose was for them. The ice prince and princess in the rain, clinging together as if life depended on it. Their breath mixed together as they stayed just the way they were.

They both heard it at the same exact time, a laugh and the sound of running coming right towards them. The two broke away from each other and stared at each other with indifference in their eyes.

“Miko…” Sesshomaru acknowledged.

“Ice-prick…” Kagome responded.

“My name is Sesshomaru and you better remember it… wench.” Sesshomaru bit out in anger.

“Mines Kagome, remember it or I’ll make sure you do.” Kagome said.

Sesshomaru took an aggressive step towards Kagome and she glared at him. That’s when Shippo came running out of the surrounding forest and jumped into Kagome’s arms.

“Momma!” Shippo yelled in greeting.

Kagome gave her son a hug and a small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. Of course she never let Sesshomaru out of her sight. And he knew it.

“Shippo, go back to the village and I’ll be right…” she stopped and looked at the shocked kit.

“You smell like Sesshomaru-sama.” Shippo said with complete mischief in his eyes.

“We ran into each other Shippo, don’t get anything in your mind and get that look off your face before I tickle you to death.” Kagome threatened.

Shippo jumped out of her hands and with a salute to Sesshomaru he ran off towards the village with laughter glittering in his eyes. “Inuyasha! Kagome’s with Sesshomaru!” was all they heard.

Kagome just shook her head and started towards the village. Sesshomaru stared after the girl with wonder in his eyes. ‘Hmm… she’s not the same girl I use to try to kill all the time, and her skin is soft and warm.’ was the only thing running through his head.
