Torn

A/N: Hey, Just a heads up. The first couple of chapters will be kinda short and fluffish i guess. Starts Inu/Kag and will be mentioned later but never fear, Kag/Sess shall prevail!!...or will they? So anywho, on with the first chapter.

Kagome was, well she was Kagome. Others referred to her as a geek, even a possible nerd. Throughout the day, surrounded by her peers, she heard the whispered venom aimed at her. Casually, trying to ignore their pettiness, there was only one she could turn to, her beloved InuYasha. How she had managed to have someone such as him within her life was still a great mystery to her. He was everything she wasn’t. One of the elite, the beautiful, the popular. Yet he had sought her out, asked her to dinner. She had thought at first he was toying with her, but soon realized he was capable of looking past her outside appearance and able to see her down to her very soul. They had been together for close to a year now. She could scarcely contain her joy whenever she saw him. Like now. He walked towards her, a look of bitter sadness on his face.

"Hi Inu-chan" Kagome quietly said to him.

"Hey, you think we could go talk somewhere?" he gruffly answered. She was used to his attitude by now, but this somehow didn’t quite sound like the Inuyasha she had come to love.

"K." was her hesitant reply.

Walking silently through the hallways, she felt more eyes on her and him then usual. More snickers were also audible. 'What’s going on?' she thought to herself.

Inside the gym, InuYasha turned to Kagome with a serious expression on his face. It was at this point Kagome became frightened, for he never looked like that. With much less tact then he normally possessed, he informed her that they were breaking up because he had found someone more worthy of him. Without even looking back at her, he walked out of the room, leaving behind a stunned Kagome. Tears fell down her cheeks, but she refused to cry out. She gave herself five minutes to calm down. Then, she silently made her way to her locker. Once there she cleaned out all of her belongings. Without a second glance back, she walked, head held high, out the front doors of her high school.

"Class, we're about to begin! CLASS!!" Mr. Myoga was the math teacher. He had been desperately trying for the last five minutes to settle his class down. Finally they did, and he began roll call.

"Higurashi, Kagome. Kagome? Class, has anyone seen Kagome?"

InuYasha looked at the empty seat beside him. 'Maybe she went home' he thought sadly to himself. He loved her, he really did, but it was unacceptable for them to be together. His friends had been giving him an increasingly harder time lately, so there had been no other way to handle the situation. He had hoped she would understand. He knew she'd be hurt, but hoped that she would be alright. He still really loved her...

It was too bad that his new girlfriend, Kikyo, was also in that class.

"Maybe she finally climbed back under that rock she dared to come from." she said giggling. Her answer was met with laughter throughout most of the room. Only Sango and Miroku looked un-amused. Neither was Mr. Myoga.

"Well, we'll just see about this!" Mr. Myoga strode over to the phone and called the office.

"Hello...Myoga here...Just wondering if you could possibly tell me the whereabouts of Kagome Higurashi....Oh....Oh goodness....I see...Then? Cross her off? ...Yes, I understand. Thank you."

He turned back to the class, his face slightly paler than before, and a sadness drawn over his features.

"Class, I suppose you all have heard about the horrific plane crash that occurred late last night?” When this was met with a reasonable amount of acknowledgment, he continued.

"It appears as though Kagome’s parents were both aboard, and there were no survivors." Miroku and Sango gasped. Their poor friend. No wonder she wasn’t here, she needed to grieve, but why hadn’t she told them, nor why hadn’t InuYasha? They looked over at him now, for the first time noticing how close he and Kikyo were sitting. Then with widening eyes, watched as she leaned forward and gave him a seductive kiss while Myoga’s back was turned.

Myoga was hardly finished though. "It appears that Kagome will be leaving us, in fact, the secretary informed me she saw Kagome leave about 15 minutes ago. She has to move to live with some distant cousins, she wasn’t actually sure where. Now," he cleared his throat. "Where to begin, aww yes, algebra." Myoga’s lesson was lost on the three friends as they sat and glared at InuYasha and his bitch for the rest of the class.
