Part 1
Hello to all! This fic was inspired by 'Spoils of War' written by Mon Dieu A Penny on ff.net, so the credit of the pairing goes to her.
Summary: After Naraku falls, Sesshomaru looks to make sure every essence of him is gone. When faced with a broken youkai, what will he do? Sesshomaru x Juromaru
Warnings: Some dark themes. Yaoi, future MPREG (much later more than likely), possibly some cruelty mentioned by Naraku and maybe even our beloved Taiyoukai. Mention or flashbacks to rape possibly...no real clue as to what exactly is going to happen in this story because this is a 'go with the flow' kind of fic like all my other stories. But hey, that's the fun of it.
Read, enjoy and review at the end for me please.

An Unforeseen Complication
Part 1
------------------------------------
His head hung low against his chest, his lavender locks of hair coated with dried blood hung around him stiffly as he tried yet again to slow his racing heart and breathing. It was useless, he knew it...but he couldn't stop himself. The urge in his blood and very being told him to struggle with all his might against them...but it was all in vain.
The shackles...they would always be there, the very thing he had feared the most was what he had lived with since his creation.
Blue eyes the color of sapphires shut tightly. 'I am nothing more than an incarnation...an essence of what that disgusting hanyou was. How can I live such a petty existence when I cannot break free even after his death?'
Naraku...the being that had haunted his life and now his dreams, the being whose voice could charm a dying man out of his last meal, the bloody coward who never sullied his own hands...had been defeated. Ironically enough by the swing of two blood brothers avenging many things coupled with a wolf loyal to the memories of his comrades.
Irony was truly life's best friend at times.
Those fools still thought him dead after all this time, when in truth; he had become little more than amusement, a pet...to his 'master'.
After his go at the Inu-Hanyou Naraku had recaptured and locked him up, possessing the only key to his freedom. He wasted absolutely no time in absorbing Kageromaru back into his body, thus, freeing his own mind from the smaller youkai's control.
Naraku had not lied when he had told them that he would only obey Kageromaru. The serpent-like youkai had the ability to posses his very thoughts and meld them with his own twisted loyalties to the disgusting hanyou, making him nothing more than a mindless puppet that relied on his brute strength in battle when his ability to weigh options were ripped from him. After Naraku absorbed the vile creature, Naraku had figured out quickly how intelligent he really was although he did not speak a single word. Much was out of simply not desiring to speak, but he had never attempted before either.
Nothing was worth the trouble in his mind.
Yes, Juromaru, an incarnation of Naraku, had outlived his 'master'.
His hands clenched tightly above him, the shackles keeping him standing and his arms suspended at the wrist above his head. His sharp claws dug into his palms and he knew he wouldn't last much longer. There was nothing, no one, coming for him now. Even his sister Kagura had been killed in battle. He had felt it from here...there was absolutely no one around who would even care to look at him much less for him.
Juromaru forced his body to relax, submitting to the fate that seemed inevitable.
... ... ... ... ...
Sesshomaru landed gracefully from his jump and surveyed the area that had been Naraku's castle and hideaway for so long. The battle had gone well considering how they all had attacked the disgusting hanyou but the Taiyoukai wanted nothing more than to be absolutely sure that every single piece of the vile being had been destroyed.
"Lord Sesshomaru! Must you go so fast?"
He ignored the bumbling toad-like imp as he raised himself form the crouch he had landed in to his feet. His sharp golden gaze focused towards the castle. 'A faint scent on the wind...' The gentle breeze sifted through his hair and tail as he continued to gaze upon the abandoned castle. 'A presence lingers in this place...but, why?'
"Jaken."
The imp made a squawking noise. "Y-yes, my Lord?"
"Return to Rin, I do not require your company here." As he said this, he didn't feel the need to turn around.
Jaken grumbled slightly but bowed his head in submission. "Yes, my Lord. I shall return to the girl at once."
With his annoyingly loyal vassal out of the way, Sesshomaru let his senses roam and search throughout the castle without having to move a single muscle. The entire place reeked of Naraku, death and blood even though the aura had diminished when Naraku had perished. It was then it hit him...something below the castle.
His golden gaze narrowed as he glanced in the direction. 'A darkened aura.'
Not wasting any time, he entered the eerily silent castle and made his way towards where he sensed the presence.
He came upon a cellar and blinked a bit when the scent became stronger and was further below. The Taiyoukai resisted a growl. 'A room beneath the cellar...how convenient. Naraku manages to irritate me even after his death.'
He knelt down and opened the trap door, the scent of blood assaulting his nose immediately. He grimaces and held his arm up to shield the scent. Naraku's stench was in there without a doubt, but...it was couple with something stronger and much more pleasant to his nose that reminded him of a thunderstorm, the rain beating down upon the earth had a very unique scent.
Growling to himself at his thoughts, he jumped into the room and landed softly on his feet, immediately focusing on the shackled figure before him.
It was obviously a youkai, though Sesshomaru couldn't decide whether it was one of Naraku's incarnations or not. 'His scent...it's different from the others...it's unique.' If he weren't an incarnation, Sesshomaru wouldn't know exactly what type of youkai the figure before him was.
Juromaru knew of the Taiyoukai's presence since he had landed within the castle grounds but hadn't bothered looking up, his own grief and self-pity eating away at him mercilessly. With his wounds still seeping blood, Juromaru knew very well that he wasn't going to live much longer and embraced the idea of an early escape for his useless existence.
At least this way, he could tell himself that he wasn't able to fight it.
Sesshomaru unsheathed Tokijin slowly, though he did not see the youkai as a threat in the least.
Shackled and bridled, the youkai was wounded as well and fatally if the wounds were left unattended in his current state. The sight of him enraged the Inu instinct within the Taiyoukai though he did not allow it to show. He stepped forward and rested Tokijin's sharpened edge upon the pale neck, wanting to see the youkai look up at him.
He growled when the being remained motionless. "Look at me, youkai."
Juromaru didn't take car to avoid the blade at all as he slowly lifted his head.
Blue clashed with gold in a cold stare, neither was intimidated at all because one was used to having such a gaze and the other was used to being looked at with a similar gaze.
The Taiyoukai raised an eyebrow at the outright defiance of this vulnerable youkai. "You're another incarnation of Naraku."
Juromaru knew that physically or even his scent didn't carry any of Naraku's traits and that he could easily lie...but he just lowered his head once more, hoping that the dog would possibly take some kind of pity on him and put an end to his misery.
'So he wishes to die.' Sesshomaru took Tokijin away from the neck and sheathed it in one fluid movement. 'This is the fourth incarnation that the wolf talked about...Juromaru. Although he is not the brainless Neanderthal they took him as. That much is proven in his eyes.' However, the Taiyoukai had absolutely no doubt that this particular incarnation was much like Kagura had been. No loyalty to Naraku whatsoever, however one difference separated them...Naraku had had no hold over Juromaru like he did Kagura if the youkai's state was anything to go by.
Sesshomaru allowed his gaze to travel over the youkai, fully taking him in.
He was lean...that much could be seen by his bared chest, and though wounded, the Taiyoukai could sense the strength and possible potential in him even now. 'He probably has no link to his power...Naraku must've feared him to some point to lock him down here for so long.'
He cracked his knuckles before slashing at the top of the shackles, easily breaking the ring that held them up.
The youkai collapsed without the support and cried out through the bridle against his mouth as the blood rushed through his limbs.
The shackles were still on his wrists, the chain connecting them only being held to the ceiling to keep the youkai uncomfortable.
Sesshomaru bent down and grabbed the chain that connected the shackles and pulled the youkai to his feet, slamming him hard against his armored chest. Juromaru winced deeply as his arms were held to his chest by the chain, his, until now, numb limbs regaining blood flow and beginning to ache deeply.
The Taiyoukai didn't let up. "You belong to me now. I am your master. Understood?"
Juromaru shuddered. 'Dammit.'
From a sadistic corrupted hanyou to a powerful Taiyoukai.
...His fortunes were not improving.
Submitting he forced his body to relax as he slowly nodded, knowing all too well that he had no say in the manner. The restraints still kept him and his strength and power at bay, and even if they were released...this was an upper level youkai and he was no match for him with his wounds. The thick black manacles wouldn't allow him to heal or do much of anything else as long as he wore them, the bridle serving no real purpose anymore but Naraku had been a sadistic master to him and Juromaru had worn it since he had been recaptured after escaping from the fight with Inuyasha.
Sesshomaru smirked. "Wise decision."
Using the chain as a type of leash, Sesshomaru turned on his heel and drug Juromaru by his wrists outside of the room and out of the castle harshly. The youkai behind him struggled to stay on his feet but he managed, the instinct of not showing weakness taking over.
Juromaru, however, did loose his footing when they stepped outside the castle and he collapsed to his knees after stretching a deep wound in his side even more. His arms were outstretched and held tight because the Taiyoukai had given him no leeway and he rested his forehead on his arms a moment. Slowly, his breathing returned to a semi-normal state and he realized that the dog hadn't done anything to pull him forward again.
Blue eyes glanced up through crimson-coated lavender bangs to see piercing golden eyes directly on him.
'He's weak,' thought Sesshomaru, confused. 'If he's so powerful, I wonder...why did Naraku release him from his body?' A thought then occurred to the Taiyoukai and his gaze hardened immediately. 'Sadistic hanyou...I should not have put him above such torture.'
Sesshomaru may have had a cruel side, but he still had a sense of honor, respect and value taught to him by his father. His lands prospered well because he was a fair, though firm, leader much like his father had been regardless of his stoic appearance. Even the humans in the West loved him for his accomplishments and the actual though of having a...pet...in that matter went against everything he had been brought up to believe.
Non too gently the Taiyoukai bent down and threw the youkai over his shoulder, surprising Juromaru who muttered a groan from his injuries being pulled in response. Closing his blue eyes, he mentally wondered what was to become of him now.
Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes as the youkai forced himself to relax. 'He's been here far too long...' Not wanting to think about his impulsive decision, the dog took off to where he had left his ward, knowing that he would have to keep a close eye on Juromaru. The youkai may have no loyalty to Naraku, but nor did he have any to the Taiyoukai. 'He's going to wear those shackles for some time if he gives me any reason at all to doubt him.'

Review and tell me what ya think. Sorry, but Juromaru just came off smarter to me than he acted in the series. ^_~ Perhaps some cunning thoughts will plague him during this story. Tell me what you guys think.
